Suddenly Dante's figure flew by, smashing straight into an attacking Bone Giant sending hurtling across the planes.

Without stopping, Dante turned around to deal with the approaching Bone Giant, but before he could even move he was greeted with a surprise!

All of a sudden, Dante was attacked, causing him to draw his moonlight greatsword

"Bang!"

As Dante retreated, he heard a mocking voice

"Don't you think it's wrong to interfere with other people's business"

"Jaxson" scowled Dante

Dante didn't say much after that.  He knew Jaxson's role.

It was just to keep him occupied. If Dante was kept out of the picture for long enough, then eventually Rebecca and the army would wear themselves out.

But just because Dante knew this didn't mean he would accept it.

Instantly rays of silver and crimson light erupted from Dante's body as layered of armour like scales coated his body as he entered into his most powerful dragonified state.

"Hahaha!" Laughed Jaxson

To think this is the true form of the fabled Dragon Son.

It's just a freakish monster"

But in response to the insult, Dante just smiled

" If You already know I'm a monster, what gives you the confidence to beat me?"

For a second, Jaxson was left stunned and could only look at Dante's demonic appearance and beastial like glare and hesitated

'Maybe he really isn't human…'

But this hesitation just caused Dante to laugh even harder.

"Scared already Jaxson? Don't worry, I'll leave you with a swift end."

In response to these taunts, Jaxson's hesitation vanished and was instead replaced with rage!

"Today I'll show you the difference in realms can't be taken for grante-"

But before Jaxson could finish, a silver gleam could be seen heading straight for his face.

Desperately, Jaxson quickly raised his axe to block

"Bang!"

A terrifying Shockwave spread out, even being so powerful as to destabilise the soldiers on the ground below

"You impudent little bastard!" Roared Jaxson

But Dante didn't even listen as his tail swung around, smashing Jaxson up into the clouds.

Dante's wings flapped as his figure lurched forward into the sky

But just as Dante reached Jaxson, he heard a roar.

"Come out, thunder boar!"

Instantly Dante was overwhelmed by a sense of alarm, but it was already too late

Suddenly a terrifying blast of electricity shot out, overwhelming Dante and everything in his vision!

All Dante could do was wrap himself in his wings in an effort to reduce the impact of the attack.

But even with all his efforts, the terrifying thunderbolts still tore across his body, leaving devastating marks across his body.

Once the sky cleared, Dante could see Jaxson floating in the sky with a smug face as the terrifying phantom of a spiked yellow boar could be seen behind him.

Dante turned toward himself and couldn't help but frown.

Wounds and burns could be seen across his entire body.

For the first time in months, Dante had actually been hurt by another person's attack.

Even his terrifying resistances were not enough to completely negate the attacks.

It was enough to make one wonder what terrifying consequences Dante would have felt if he didn't have these resistances.

Fighting across ranks wasn't a game.

Dante had been doing it for so long and so casually he had actually taken it for granted.

Fighting across realms is a risk and anytime you do it you're putting your life on the line

But Dante could think for long before the electrifying figure of Jaxson appeared in front of him, slashing down with his brutal axe!

Instantly, Dante's sword burst into a blinding silver glow.

Bang!

Sparks of silver and lighting exploded across the sky as the soldiers below watched what could only appear to them as a fight between the gods!

The fight continued with the two leaving an empty patches of sky as each blow created a Shockwave large enough to clear the sky of clouds.

But as the fight continued, Jaxson couldn't help but frown.

Despite how much he refused to admit it, he was slowly being pushed back.

Although their weapon skill could be said to be equal, that's really the only place where he could match Dante.

When it came to defence, Dante's resistances and thick coating of scales allowed him to brush off any scratch or light attack. The same couldn't be said for Jaxson, whose light cuts and bruises were slowly building up.

And when it came to the variety of attacks, Dante had him beat even harder.

Claws of devastating flames, showers of exploding silver energy and even terrifying breath attacks!

Dante had been overwhelming Jaxson with his wide variety of advanced techniques, whereas Jaxson's attacks were extremely limited, causing Dante to even start predicting and completely avoiding them.

If things continued as they were, Jaxson's defeat would be a slow but completely inevitable result .

And when Jaxson looked at Dante's cruel serpentine eyes, he knew that the man he was facing wouldn't hesitate to lop off his head if he lost .

As Jaxson became more and more aware of these factors, his desperation was starting to build up as his attacks quickly became more furious and vicious.

And it wasn't Jaxson who had realised this inevitability.

Even the corpse Master who was back at the bandit fortress could see the direction in which the fight was heading.

"This bastard really is incapable."

The corpse Master knew he had to do something if he wanted to change the direction of this war. Fortunately, he was always one to plan ahead.

A devious smirk appeared on his hooded face as he turned to look towards Rebecca's battlefield…

….

Back on the ground where Rebecca was fighting, it could be seen to be the complete opposite of Dante's situation.

Instead of winning, she was the one who was slowly being worn down, and that's if you could even count the process as slow.

Rebecca stopped in the air and glared hatefully at the three Martial adept level undead that were facing her.
