29 – Bloodless Escape

“Looks like someone is over there?”

When I turned the corner, two groups were confronting each other. There was a passage beside it. There seemed to be an argument over which room the key was in.

“What about that?”

“Didn’t we decide to avoid battle as much as possible?”

“Then shall we move to the other side?”

“Heh heh, what do you mean by that? Is there a room over there?”

Nathan misunderstood me. Avoiding battle meant not stealing another group’s key through battle, not literally not fighting.

“I-I think those people are going to attack us….”

Leae, hiding behind the wall and secretly looking at it, said.

“If they attack, you must fight them. Come on, let’s go. The key is nearby.”

I took the lead. The two opposing teams looked at me at the same time as if they had spotted me.

“Heh heh, it will pass for a while.”

I couldn’t see the door in the key room this time. There were no traps visible inside, and there were no monsters like goblins or snakes.

“What are you?”

A short man grabbed my arm. He was aiming a dagger at my waist.

After following me, Echina pointed her sword at the little man’s neck.

Both groups pulled out their weapons, and so did our group.

A tense nervous warfare came and went. The nerves of the two groups who were confronting earlier turned to our group. When a third party intervened, it seemed to form an implicit alliance.

If I went into the room or took an aggressive stance, they would immediately run at my group.

“Heh heh, we just need to get the key. I have no intention of fighting.”

“This bastard is a muscle even to the brain…. aaagh!”

I grabbed his arm and threw him into the room. As soon as he hit the floor, it split in two and the little man fell into it.

“Oh, there is a trap. As a final note, my group only needs to take the key. If you have any problems….”

Right before I finished my words, a man who seemed to be in the same group as the little man charged at me like a horned bull.

He stood aside like a bullfighter. The man abruptly stopped. I put my hand on his shoulder. The man flapped his hands to get his balance and then fell into the trap.

“aaagh!”

“Is there anyone else you want to fight?”

“Let’s go…” .”

At that time, a group withdrew. And the group with three members left seemed to have no intention of stepping down. He didn’t seem to want to fight.

“Heh heh, we’ll just take the key and go. What a difference.”

I jumped over the trap and opened the box where the key was kept.

Clap.

The moment I opened the box, I heard a sound as if something was working. The floor vibrated and the split floor closed again.

“Oops, you’re completely trapped.”

I got the key and got out of the room.

The team members who lost their comrades looked at me with devastated faces.

“We move on to the next location.”

The team members, who lost two people in an instant, hurriedly entered the room and knocked on the floor, but the floor was firmly closed.

The members were safe and found the key without much difficulty. Two keys left.

We found another room not far away. This time there was a lever. I pulled the lever, expecting a trap.

The door opened without a problem. In the middle of the room was a box. From the outside, there were no trap devices or monsters to be seen.

“Be careful….”

I looked around the room and walked towards the box. The trap did not trigger while holding the box by hand.

When I opened the box, the key was also inside. Also, the trap did not trigger.

It was the first time I had ever been to a room like this in all of my virtual dungeons. There was always a trap or a monster guarding the box.

It was the moment I was about to turn around to go out.

“Hand over that. Don’t think about doing anything weird.”

He said, thrusting a dagger into Echina’s throat.

“Ah, there you are. I was looking for where the monster was.”

“What? I’m not a monster no…. Hand over the key quickly. And the key you have. Otherwise, this year is a dropout.”

“Heh heh, I see. I will hand over the key.”

I threw the key at him. As he was about to snatch the key, Echinacea grabbed his wrist.

Echina lowered her stance and slapped him up.

“Heh heh heh!”

The assassin was in pain, but got up immediately. He checked the entrance, looking for a way out.

The entrance was blocked by our crew.

“Everyone, move out of the way so he can escape.”

The crew came out of their seats to allow the assassin to escape without saying anything.

The only person who didn’t understand what I was saying was the man who ambush Echina. He looked at me and his crew suspiciously.

The assassin saw an opportunity and ran away.

“Heh heh, then the key, please. Come soon.”

I followed the assassin who escaped. He ran away at great speed. I chased after him, leaving enough distance so he wouldn’t notice.

The assassin entered a room.

The entrance was open, and the box was also open.

I followed the assassin into the room.

“Heh heh, you were using this place as a hideout.”

Inside were the Assassin’s crew.

“What? Did you follow Who is that woman?”

The assassin started looking for Echina, who threw herself away. When Ekina was nowhere to be seen, the assassin laughed.

“Did you follow me alone? The liver is also big.”

“You tried to steal my Joe’s key, so you must pay the price.”

The assassin’s companions giggled and drew their weapons.

“If you give me the key you have, I will take the key and quietly move on.”

“Hmm…. This? Here, if you want.”

The assassin’s colleague, a woman, sarcastically showed the key draped over her finger.

“Heh heh, thank you. There must have been someone you could talk to.”

As I approached and tried to get her key, she avoided her hand.

“A fool cheats on that.”

They blocked the entrance and surrounded me. I never thought I would hand over the key coolly from the start.

She turned the key in front of me.

“Can you hold this? You look a little dull….”

I grabbed the wrist of the woman who was spinning her keys. With a little force, her key fell off and she caught it with her other hand.

“Ugh….”

From noble mtl dot com

“Heh heh, do you have another one?”

“Damn it, let this go.”

She was a woman who seemed to lack modesty. A little more of her strength gave her bones a crackling sound. Cracked her wrist bones and let go.

She grabbed her wrist and sat down. She glared at me with her teary eyes.

“Humility is a virtue that men and women of all ages should possess. If you look at me with those eyes, you may lose an eye. Heh heh heh.”

After lightly joking, the woman gently lowered her eyes.

“Okay then, I’ll take another key.”

The guys who were checking each other’s eyes rushed at me.

I only got the key after knocking out two more. They had 3 keys in total.

I only had to bring two more, but I took all three with the meaning of learning humility.

I took the key and went back to the crew. They were waiting for me in the dark room where I finally got the key.

“Gran, here it is!”

“I was here because I was afraid someone would come. Great job.”

We have collected all five keys. Now I had to find a way out.

I moved all the way along one side of the road.

It wasn’t difficult to find the exit. There were not too many exits, about four, and if you couldn’t see them, you could just follow the other road.

When I took the third road, I saw an exit in the distance. Just like when I entered the dungeon, there was a dimensional door.

I moved towards the dimensional door.

There was someone in front of the portal.

“What…. It’s gran Have you already collected them all?”

“Heh heh, was it Staria-sama? I was surprised to think they were attacking me.”

Staria laughed awkwardly.

“hahahaha…. We’re not that stupid. Then see you later.”

Befitting a party of assassins and shooters, they hid themselves in the dark.

I passed through the dimensional gate with my crew.

About 3 hours have passed since the virtual dungeon escape evaluation started.

Assessor Volik stood up and yawned. He moved his body to wake up.

“How long did it take last year? When the evaluation just starts, my mind is exhausted.”

“The first ones took about six hours, right?”

“We still have a long way to go.”

As soon as Bolik sighed and sat down, a teacher shouted.

“It’s out!”

“It’s already out? Whose class is it?”

“This is my class.”

Florina giggled, she said.

Gran showed the key he brought out first.

The teachers didn’t believe it.

A total of six keys were collected by Team 5. It’s a key that’s enough to have one or not, but it wasn’t that easy to get a key in a dungeon.

Moreover, it was the group that escaped the fastest so far, and there were five members who escaped, and no one was eliminated.

“Looks like only monsters gathered….”

“It’s time for our classmates to come out….”

The teachers looked up to Florina and Team 5 and spoke softly.

As evaluators, the teachers watched the children fighting to the death inside the dungeon, but deep down they expected that the children in their class would be the first to escape. For example, with a mindset like ‘My child is more amazing.’

“I knew you guys would come out first.”

Florina, who was in a good mood, smiled and patted the 5th group on the shoulders.

“Go early today and rest. Everyone has suffered.”

The 5 members who escaped before lunchtime even started came out of the evaluation room.

“Thanks to Gran, I finished first. If you take a good rest today….”

“Hey, where are you going? You have to exercise as much as you finished early.”

“I, I have an appointment….”

Li Ae said, slipping away from her.

“The evaluation is in progress. Who are you talking to?”

“Ah…. Bed….”

“hehehe, there is a bench that is more comfortable than a bed in Grand Gym.”

“Are you going to give me a buff later?”

Echina always looked for buffs.

The final group evaluation has come to an end.
