Waiting for a rainy day when Winglight appeared, I followed Tacax Town with Billows.

The other Devil Bug Hunters remain the defensive force of the town. Sometimes we control the surrounding area every year, and the town of Tacax has never been attacked directly by a demon worm, but we have never gone beyond caution.

"I've never hunted a winglight."

"Is Billows the same?"

"I've traveled several times, but I never even met him. What about Amane?

"I've heard the whole story from Jicha. When I was in Yoinsley, I was on an expedition once, but I couldn't finish it."

I found it, but I lost sight of it because of the fog and my poor vision.

Walking all day from the town of Tacax and arriving in the city of Kattera, I took Billows with me to visit the Devil Bug Hunter Guild.

"I've been waiting for you, Mr. Amane"

It was the accountant of the Devil Bug Hunter Guild who spoke up when he entered the guild.

Though we have never been close to each other in material sales before, this time we have not brought in the material of the Devil Bug.

I turned to the accountant as I leaned inside.

"You were making a request to go on a crusade expedition for Winglight, weren't you? Why do you, the accountant, come out?

"Those who request it are properly recruited. There are seven applicants, so I hope you'll just meet me face-to-face. Separate from that, the business people."

Meet Billows face to face.

Billows shrugged his shoulder as he watched the request board.

"Sounds like you're looking for a liquefied yarn for Bird Eater Spider. Come hunt for the big guy in the clouds, left alone for fifty years?

"Yeah, you're right. Can you hunt for me as I will buy it for the amount of money I have on the recruit?

Liquefied yarn is a product that tends to be undersupplied because of its many uses, but this is not the first way to speak up directly. The Bird Eater Spider itself is a good looking demon bug, so if you go hunting right away, even if you're short on supply, you can secure a number.

"Is there anything behind it?

"Ageing was noticeable in the aerial corridors of the cloud mesosphere in the city of Kattera, and we need to ensure a fairly cohesive number"

"I see. That pick-up price is also acceptable if the city of Katella is offering it."

The renovation of the air corridor would not have allowed me to spend much time, and I guess I hoisted the value in the judgment that it was of high urgency.

"If you can afford it, I'll hunt it, but I don't know if you can take it home because there's a lot of material this one needs, too, right?

"Yeah, we're talking about a winglight crusade, and you're gonna stick around for about ten days, right? If you can afford to go home, fine. Once you have successfully crusaded Winglight, may I ask you to submit a report?

"Billows, can I have it?

"When you get back to town, you can mail it to Katella City."

Talk together and meet with the participants in the crusade expedition.

Participants in the Winglight Crusade Expedition that it took place fifty years ago are apparently moving their bases to the west, and were not among the applicants for this one.

"Who of these has read Winglight's Crusade Expedition Records, which ran until fifty years ago?

Hire one shot at the three people who raised their hands by throwing questions. I don't want the unprepared guy who hasn't applied for an expedition and checked the information beforehand.

One more person, a man of arms compared to the power of Billows, is selected and promoted to luggage holding.

"Well, let's go"

Let the baggage man hold a tent or something and set off from the cloudy no-layer of the city of Katella.

I carry a bow and an arrow, a light outfit with minimal food in my hip pouch. The same goes for Billows.

Two of the demon bug hunters hired in the Kattella city were put in luggage and the other two were only allowed to prepare for battle and were equipped.

"The aim is wing lights and brunch mimics. I'll tailor the Bird Eater Spider if I can afford to go home, but I'll fold it for six and a half when it comes to the sale of the Bird Eater Spider"

"I don't mind if we have a guaranteed minimum amount."

This is what the demon bug hunters hired me to say, and let's tailor the spiders.

When I left the city of Cuttera and proceeded to the branches of the cloud-no-layer for about half a day, I began to see traces of eating damage caused by demonic worms.

All scratches are shallow. It would be a healing scratch in a matter of days for a highly vital world tree.

However, the number of wounds is high.

"Sounds like the Devil Bug is gushing pretty bad."

In numbers, three around here, ten or twenty is crap if you look on the branches.

Billows looks around with his bow in one hand.

"Mayor, you realize that, don't you?

"The Bird Eater Spider's nest is all half-baked. I'm aware."

The demon bug hunters hired in the city of Kattera also looked around in a clear and vigilant manner.

"Hey, shouldn't we have a break and a consultation here?

We decided to have an early lunch in the form of a proposal from one of the baggage holders.

"First, let's hear each side of the spectrum"

Listen as you roam the tortilla-like culinary alter art sprinkled with dried lamb bird meat and more.

"Well, you're already in agreement on the fact that if the fog keeps coming out, it won't taste good."

Everyone, including me, snorts at the words of Billows.

Misty, poor vision. Good until you aim for the winglight, but if you get an ambush from another demon bug, there won't be a single one.

"It's a waste of time, but I think it's the right thing to do to investigate the area."

One of the demon bug hunters is hired to look around and say:

If demon bugs that aggressively attack people, such as beaants, were nearby, they should be crusaded first. I don't want to fight in the fog with Beant, who specializes in hunting in herds.

"All right, do the investigation. Either way, I was going to check on this branch."

In the urbanization plan of the town of Takakus, it is said that a bridge will be crossed into the branches of this cloud-no-layer. If you think it's a preliminary investigation, you don't hesitate to use your precious time.

Get up after lunch.

"Do you split into two hands?

"No, let's act together. 'Cause I don't know what's coming out."

Me and Billows first, we'll start exploring the neighborhood.

"Hey, Mayor, there's a Bruncheater carcass over there"

The carcass of the devoured bruncheater was rolling ahead of Billows pointing his finger.

Walk over to the carcass as you guard your surroundings.

"It feels like three or four days ago."

Approximate time of death is determined from flesh pieces attached to the crust, blood conditions, tensile angle tension, etc.

It looks pretty flashy eaten up, but this wasn't done by one demon bug.

"The bite marks on this crust are beaant, aren't they? But the way you eat the contents is too elegant for Beaant."

"This is how you eat Bird Eater Spider."

After one of the luggage holders joins the carcass test for analysis, he looks around strangely.

"I don't have a nest."

"Oh, my God. Looks like he's still out there, mutant."

Billows squeaks and gets up.

After reading a record fifty years ago in the city of Kattera, the three changed their complexion as soon as they heard of the variant. Cloud your expression because I've explained it to the other one on the road.

"Are you saying that invisible threads may fly from afar in the fog?

"Whether you attack or eat, you better be ready."

Billows calls out to the luggage holder.

"Give out the lifeline. I don't care if it's tangled in thread, but if the others are safe, we can rescue them."

"Is the hunting ground decided here? Let's get ready for camp. Lifeline first."

I'll give you directions, too, and we'll get ready.

When the vigilance turned a blind eye to the surrounding area, something like a rain cloud was beginning to appear in the distance.

Ready for the camp, each wrapping his lifeline around his waist, taking bows and arrows.

"Running from here to Kattera City won't take half a day. Run into the city of Cuttera, whatever your luggage or tent, if either me or Billows give you an exit order. Think of it as a snowworm hunting emergency."

As we were meeting to make sure the string tension was checked, Bilose made a crease between the eyebrows and did his eyes in the distance.

"Here we are. It's Beant."

Twelve?

That's a lot.

Even though it is double the number, Beaunt can handle it without any problems.

Billows and the two of them, who were carrying luggage, stood up with their bows in one hand and watched the iron arrows.

"Go with the first must-win"

The first shots fired by the Billows fly at high speeds, shooting down the beaant that was flying towards us.

The remaining Beaunts fly in regardless of the death of their companions, but by the time they entered my range, the number had dropped in half with the second and third shots of the Billows.

"Don't use the sagittarius. It's troublesome when the surrounding demon bugs come by."

While Billows says that, I pull four arrows together and pull them out of the barrel, aiming at the base of Beaant's neck.

An iron arrow would also allow you to pierce your head, but you should aim at the base of your head, which can be tailored with a tree arrow, more than you know how many demon bugs you're going to be fighting.

I'll shoot the three on the left.

"Huh?"

At the same time that someone from the Devil's Bug Hunter hired in Kattera City issued a question mark, I fired one shot and continued to fly two more shots at the base of each of the three beaants' heads.

Three beaants lose their balance under the influence of arrows on their necks, stopping the flight and attempting to descend on the branches of the world tree.

When landing, the beaants point their heads at the sky to avoid striking them with recoil. Naturally, the base of my head was empty.

I bow down. All three arrows that had been released in advance of Beaant's position before landing had pierced the base of Beaant's head, separating the head from the torso in conjunction with a prior blow.

Billows whistles.

"Even so, Jaynes, the old man is better than the old man, so the world is crazy."

"Don't compare it properly."

Jicha would have probably shot all six bodies with wooden arrows.

The three I couldn't finish were handled by two Demon Bug Hunters I hired in Katella City.

"What do you do with Beaant's crust?

"I don't have time to process it. Every carcass is dumped under a tree."

"I'm here while you're saying something."

"Not anymore!

It was over the sky that Billows pointed to. If you look up, one bird eater spider is looking down this way from the top branch.

... He's not even nesting, so why are you fighting?

"... Something's wrong with him."

He discovered it best and pointed it at it, and Billows noticed the unnaturalness of Bird Eater Spider's position.

The overhead Bird Eater Spider looked down at us with multiple eyes, and as he moved around, he pointed his forefoot directly down, or towards us.

It has something like a round ball at the tip of my forefoot.

"- Shit, I'm a mutant!

Immediately after the bow is raised to kill him, the mutant wields his forefoot. Something like a round ball starts to rotate in line with the orbit of the forefoot, increasing the speed with a centrifugal force to make a hiccup noise.

"Coming!

Shortly after someone from the Devil Bug Hunter hired in Kattera City screamed, a round ball flew in from the mutant species' hand.

Aren't you the type to swing and lure them with pheromones, and bump them directly?

A round ball of mutant species crashes into one of our tailored beaant carcasses.

When I wondered if there was a slightly watery adhesion sound, Beant's carcass was caught.

When the mutant species hand threads, the carcass of the beaant to which the round sphere adheres is hoisted under the mutant species.

"... it's a travesty."

No, I was thinking about throwing it under the tree. I thought so!

"I'm not convinced..."

He sighs as he escorts off the mutant species leaving somewhere in front of the caught beaant carcass.

"What do we do?

"In the meantime, get the rest of the carcass somewhere."

Instructed Billows to clean up the rest of the carcasses as if they had been detoxified, while entering the arrow recovery operation.
