Apparently, this nursery was run by an elderly gardener and two aunt nursery workers, plus Elena. But it hasn't worked as a nursery since the alien beast showed up.

Currently, the children in the nursery school are those orphaned by the Beast who killed their parents. There are six toddlers and four elementary students.

We went inside the nursery and put food in the kitchen.

"Elena, I'm going to use some special skills, but don't be surprised"

Elena nodded.

I activated [Shadow Space] and took out the shadow bag. Elena is surprised and her eyes are rounded.

"What is this?

"It's shadow space. A dedicated bag is a space where you can dance no matter how massive."

"If there's such a handy thing, why didn't you use it in the supermarket? Well, you couldn't trust me then."

"It's not. This guy can't do anything. This black bag, this shadow bag, is all I can do."

I removed mineral water and carbonated beverages, canned beer, pasta noodles, oil and sugar and other condiments from my shadow bag. Then sink the empty shadow bag into the shadow space.

"Awesome, so much seasoning and oil..."

"Maybe you lacked seasoning and oil?

Elena nodded cocklessly. I laugh at that adorable trick.

"You can use it."

This gift seems to have delighted me greatly.

Me and Elena went into the office. That's where I decided to listen. There was a dirt well gardener inside.

"Oh, who's that?

"This is Kojiro Ma, who helped me from Goblin. This is Director Tsuchii."

"I'm Takami Tui. She asked me to help Dr. Elena, and thank you."

Then the sermon to Elena began. Apparently, Elena was out exploring the Little Ghost District on her own. At present, the food is being divided from the farmers around us and so on, but Elena, anxious to see how long she can share it, seems determined to go on her own exploration.

Me and Elena talked about what happened in the little ghost district and told them we brought food.

"Really, thank you. If you don't have a place to go, stay in this nursery."

"Is that okay?

"Yeah, I was a little nervous because the childcare workers are just women. It would be comforting if Mr. Moki could be here."

Manager Tsuchii asked me about the current state of the nursery school. Seems to be in trouble without any assistance from the administration.

"What's the bureau doing?

"City Hall has moved to Higashita Town, but there is no public authority in Higashikami Town"

"Then who's keeping the town together?

Elena makes a dark face. Director Tsuchii sighed as well.

"The old man, starting with the town chairman, died of the poison of a different beast. I went to Old Town Hall and was poisoned."

They say the foreign beasts are occurring west of the East Sand River. And strange beasts don't seem to hate water and try to cross rivers.

"So did City Hall move to Higashita Town? But didn't a beast cross the bridge and break into East Lower Town?

"Your mayor ordered you to blow up the bridge across the East Sand River, leaving only the railway bridge behind."

It would be the best way to keep the beast from intruding. But why does the Shimojo Bridge remain overhead? Could it be that Higashigami was abandoned?

I asked Elena for an explanation.

"One of the reasons we didn't have enough explosives was because your handwashing mayor abandoned the residents of Higashigami."

The mayor said he gathered employees of your hand washing group and their families in Higashita Town and drove citizens unrelated to the group to Higashikami Town.

Why did your handwashing mayor kick anyone out of the group? It was a food issue. Harvestable food on agricultural land stretching east of East Lower Town did not have enough to feed all the surviving citizens.

"You're a terrible mayor. If it couldn't be solved by the city of Jesuit alone, it would have been better to multiply it by prefecture or country."

"That's... I can't. Politically powerful politicians, most of them elderly, were poisoned to death, he said."

"Well, that would have been confusing."

The poison emitted by different beasts seems to be highly effective for older people. Moreover, a powerful alien beast erupted in a densely populated area and appears to have carried out a tremendous killing.

Director Tsuchii says Potsuri.

"I accidentally drove Badlat to" hi, "gained" poison resistance "skills and survived. But most of my friends and acquaintances have died."

"Well... that was tough. So what happened to the Japanese government?

Elena and the others shook their heads powerless.

"I'm not sure. Early on, it was like a landline was set up in Higashita to get in touch with the government, but Higashita wouldn't let me know."

I got a grumpy look on my face. This has been the case for a long time, but your hand washing group takes precedence in the city of Jesuit for anything. It is said that 70% of the city's tax revenues come from your hand washing group, but those who are not still in the group also pay taxes.

"Wait, what are the residents of Higashigami going to do without outside support?

"We are trying to cultivate farmland around the mountains to produce food. But we're running out of oil and we can't use agricultural machinery."

It looks like Toshita Town has gas reserves, but they're not turning that around to Toshiba Town. That's what your handwashers are going to do.

The inhabitants of Higashikami-cho seem to be cultivating their fields with such things as "Kuwa". The sight of time returning a long time ago is becoming visible in the cultivated land of Higashigami Town.

I was listening from Director Tsuchii and Elena, and I noticed the area was getting dark. Looking out, the sun is about to set.

"Well, is there a blackout here too?"

Toi Park Manager told him with an unfortunate face.

"Unfortunately, civilization has become a distant thing"

I asked the gardener if Misaki's family was in this town.

"Misaki Endo and his parents.... That's not a familiar name. Shall I ask someone in this town?

"Please"

My 40s aunt came in.

"Oh, Dr. Ishigami. I'll introduce you. This is Kojiro Moki. I owe Dr. Elena her life."

"Benefactor of life... so don't go to a dangerous place, I told you"

"But I've found food."

Ishigami sighed.

"I found tons of food in the kitchen, and they let me use it, but it was good, wasn't it?

I nodded and told him to use it.

"Thanks. It really helps"

"Dr. Ishigami, what could I do for you?

"It was. Dinner's ready."

The meal seems to be eaten with the kids in the playroom. The food was okonomiyaki. I guess I used that because there was an okonomiyaki sauce in the seasoning I brought.

The kids are eating happily. But it seemed a little cold. The season was winter and the unheated playroom was cold. I guess it's not unbearable because I'm wearing a layer, but I thought I couldn't handle it.

"Don't you have any heating equipment here?

I asked Elena.

"The heating was using air conditioning, but the electricity wasn't coming through this street."

"No kerosene, so no stove either? What about the firewood stove?

"There's nothing convenient about it."

When I asked him what he was doing with the food, he said he was making and using Kamadu outside.

By the end of the meal, the sun will fall and the area will be dark. The children slept wrapped in futons with layers on.

I went outside and looked up at the starry sky. Amazingly many stars are blinking. Until six months ago, I shouldn't have seen half of it in the town lights.

"Mr. Moki, what's wrong?

Elena came out too. Looking up at the sky together.

"Unlike the night sky six months ago, I thought."

"Because there are no lights around."

Looking around the preschool, I can't see the lights from any house. Checking with Elena, about half the houses seem deserted. They say the inhabitants died of poison.

"It's not more convenient to live in that empty house than in a nursery school"

"I don't think so. The nursery has a large garden where you can cook and cook, but it's hard when it's a normal house."

Not only that, but moving to someone else's house, albeit dead, seemed resistant.

"How many residents live in Higashigami?

"I think it's about 2500 now, but I don't know exactly"

The person at City Hall who lived in Higashikami-cho appears to have died or moved to Higashikamachi. So no one is in a position to do a census.

And the town hall board officer is almost dead, so he says there's no one to put the town together.

"I'm not sure I'm anxious about the future."

Elena said potpourri.

This town seems to be full of problems. No one wants to solve it, and people get their own food and manage to live.
