VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn

190 Confusing Identity

"Umm… is that okay?" Val asked while pointing at Brambles. "Do we have to fight that beast too? It looks a lot stronger than the one you just killed." She said feeling nervous.

It was understandable too, as Brambles was a lot bigger than most enemies that the players would encounter so far. Plus his large horn exuded a rather intimidating feeling that made most people think twice before looking.

Val's words made Arthur snap out of his thoughts and he spoke.

"It's fine." Arthur waved his hands. "Finish them off Brambles, we gonna head off soon."

"Kr!" The beast replied before impaling the two falling Bone Blade beasts onto his horn.

Their guts spilled out while their blood was sprayed all around. The scene looked rather brutal, making Val gulp visibly.

>Dragon Horn Beetle has killed Bone Blade beast!< x 2

>Dragon Horn Beetle has obtained 3% Experience!<

Done with the beasts, Brambles walk up to Arthur before looking at the new human there.

"Kri!" Brambles's large eyes gazed at Val, making her tremble.

"It's fine. And no, you can't eat her," Arthur replied to the beetle.

"Kr~" Brambles gave a little nod before settling down.

"It wanted to eat me?" Val shuddered before realizing something. "Wait! You can control it!?" She was surprised.

"Yeah, it's my pet," Arthur replied.

"WHATTTTTTTT! That's a PET!?" Val did a double take.

She looked at Arthur and Brambles with wide eyes, finding it all unbelievable.

'No wait… his armor and weapon looks rather strong… I haven't seen anything like them in the village either. Just how strong is he?' Val wondered before using Inspect on Arthur.

>Inspect has failed!<

Seeing the skill fail, Val was stunned.

"How is… this possible?" Val couldn't believe her eyes. 'If the Inspect skill failed that only means… he is…'

~gulp~

She took a step back, wondering just what she was doing trying to interfere in the fight of a player that was a lot stronger than her.

'How can he be above level 20 already?' Val couldn't understand. 'And here I thought I was the highest leveled player so far.'

While Val was having doubts popping up in her mind continuously, Arthur too was having several questions.

'How is she the one to first get to the Trunel Woods… it should have been another player…' Arthur realized that his interference had changed things more than expected. 'Instead of Rain, it is now Val…' he recalled the player who had originally hit level 10 first in his past life.

Arthur had thought that even if he was the first one to hit level 10, Rain would still end up being the second one to hear level 10. And this wasn't just something he thought due to it happening in his past life.

Rather than that, he knew it was highly likely to happen simply because of how skilled Rain was.

He was one of the top E-sports players in the world and had been consistently ranked high in most of the competitive games. His game sense was extremely good, and it shouldn't have been an issue for him to get acquainted with the game mechanics.

And yet, instead of the top E-sports star, it was now some unknown girl. Arthur even wondered if the girl was Rain, but he was using a different avatar.

'No… Rain isn't like that. His image itself is worth a lot more for him to do something like this.' Arthur shook his head.

He thought deeply but still couldn't come up with anything.

'I don't think I've heard of her at all… even if she was playing in my last life, she certainly wasn't a major player or famous enough to have information about her Online.' Arthur thought to himself.

Having thought of this, Arthur knew that he needed to learn more.

'I need to keep up with the changes, or I might find myself at a disadvantage.' Arthur reckoned.

He was fine with minor changes and ignoring them. But something as big as the top player being replaced by an unknown player wasn't something he could ignore at all.

"Let's… Let's head back to the town now. It's getting dark." Arthur spoke up, breaking the girl out of her thoughts too.

"Ah! Yes." Val hurriedly replied.

Knowing that she was with a very strong player, she had no thoughts of going against his orders. After all, she knew that opposing him was an option, but that might end up getting her killed.

'I've already offended him, trying to interfere in the fight. If he doesn't like what I do now, he might just kill me.' Val thought. 'I don't want to lose experience…' she was certainly afraid.

What she didn't know was that Arthur had completely opposite thoughts.

While he didn't know who Val exactly was, he did manage to figure out a few things about her.

'She's certainly a bit skilled if she managed to come this far. She has also used my guides as there is no other way to level up that fast. Then there is the title…' Arthur looked at the girl's status screen.

~DING~

——

<Title: One who shot a hundred heads>

Info: Can be obtained by getting a hundred headshots in a row.

Effect: The player's accuracy is improved by 10% and hitting a head increased critical damage by 5%.

——

It was a title that Arthur was all too familiar with. After all, he had it in his past life too.

'I had the title when I was a ranger too, but to have it this early? I don't think I heard of anyone that had it at this point.' Arthur thought to himself.

Getting the title was not simple but it was something that almost all ranged players wished to obtain. It was a must to have title for archers and many spent months in order to obtain it.

And yet here there was a girl who had gotten it fresh out of the newbie village.

In some ways, she was as astounding and confusing as Arthur.
