I squinted my eyes on the weapon. I even rub my eyes just to make sure I am not mistaken or anything and indeed it was labeled as a God Tier weapon. However, unlike other people, I did not jump for joy or got excited and like crazy just because I got something. I just remained calm for now but I am also confused. A God Tier Weapon this early? Isn't that a bit of a game breaker in the process? Even expert players wouldn't be able to get any kind of weapon with a high rarity like this in the very beginning. They have to work hard to obtain it.  Also, this weapon might be a God Tier but just by looking at the stats, they are just plain and regular. Nothing spectacular that made it a God Tier.

However, my eyes could not believe what I just read. This weapon is a Growth type weapon. Meaning, the user will not need to change weapons, again and again, every time they level up to cater to their need to defeat enemies stronger than them. Growth Type weapons will grow alongside the user via different means, like taking a bit of the experience a player earned for the weapon to increase its levels and stats.

As for this, the way it is qualified as a Growth Type Weapon is the fact that it can grow its level by devouring weapons.

I pondered a bit and recalled all of the rarities the items like weapons, armors, and accessories have. From what I can remember, they are ranked from Scrap, Normal, Rare, Very Rare, Unique, Legendary, Heroic, and God Tier. Most of the common weapons dropped by small mobs and sometimes sold in blacksmith shops are Normal and Rare weapons. Very Rare and Unique are normally dropped by normal bosses and sometimes if you are lucky, the store will have one in store for an exorbitant price while the Legendary weapons have a small chance to drop in Bosses, dungeon chests, and Raid Bosses above level 150 or more, while the easiest to obtain them, is only when certain quests with high difficulty are cleared.  But it's possible to craft them depending on the rank of the blacksmith making it.

Heroic weapons are known for their heritage and they can only be obtained if someone managed to pass their trials and cleared their associated side quests which involve stories and NPCs. A heroic weapon will only exist as a single weapon and it won't have any duplicates. If they have, that would be an imitation since they can only be obtained by quests. These weapons are known for being always a Growth Type weapon so obtaining a legacy quest for this weapon is a blessing indeed.

As for the God tier, it is said to be given by god-level NPCs once you get to increase your friendship status with them but those are just rumors as no one actually know how to obtain one,  In my past timeline, only one weapon in God Tier rank appeared and it was forged by the legendary Blacksmith that time following the event of the demon invasion and it was used to ward off the demons that almost annihilated half of the planet. With the blessing of a few gods participating in the war, the weapon was imbued with too much power that it ascended from Legendary to God Tier.

Now here is my weapon. It is indeed a God Tier weapon but it was not imbued by any god powers at all. In fact, it only looks like the start weapon, the rusty sword, and dull blade. If I didn't read the weapon, I would have dismissed it as a normal rarity weapon due to its photo.

I check the skill one more time just to make sure I am getting it right.

[Devour] allows the weapon itself to "eat" and make the weapon itself as its own. It was similar to amalgamation but without the risk of failure. Furthermore, this weapon can gain more skills if it devours lots of weapons and artifacts. It gains a few stats partially once it devours a weapon. And bt the looks of it, the weapon can also mimic the look of the weapon they devoured. It was like it has cosmetic skins available for players to suit their weapon style to bring while maintaining the status of the weapon. In short, you can make the weapon look like the Rusty Sword or Dull Blade but has a stat of a high rarity weapon.

The other one is something I have not seen before in the past timeline that caters to the Versatile Class. It has some similarities to the weapon of Ye Qiu. I have read one in the novel, The Kings Avatar that the MC's weapon can change the form, however, it was on the novel and it has limited transformations. As for this weapon, it has everything, and every kind of weapon that all classes can equip, this weapon can also do it too.

Versatiles are known as copycats, in short, they can mimic any battle style of other classes and they also don't have any equipment restriction like most classes do. Players who choose Versatile will start with a sword and it is up to the player in which style he will use for the battle after obtaining different weapons. However, it was so troublesome since Versatile class players can carry multiple weapons but it was a very cumbersome thing and while fighting, it is not easy to keep switching styles while fighting enemies. It has a big chance of failing especially if the player is not fast in his hands. However, the ability of this weapon is exactly the solution for that. But how come it is like this? There is no way Tojiro has given me the thing and immediately knew I will choose Versatile. Other than the other classes, the Versatile Class will benefit a lot in this weapon and I incidentally choose the Versatile class.

This weapon is also bound to me, I can't drop, trade, or sell this weapon. But it doesn't matter much since that would make this weapon totally secured and can't be stolen by any player at all. And what is more, this weapon has no durability. With the word null, it is labeled as a weapon that won't degrade no matter how harsh you are on using it. It's a very big win as maintenance to weapons takes a lot of time and if you are not a blacksmith, it takes a lot of gold too.

It is pretty good but is it really something that came from Tojiro and the injection? Just what is the content of the syringe anyway?

Closing my inventory, I didn't equip the weapon and armor to my body for now. I have a plan to help me with the EXP problem the Versatile Class suffers.

For 5 years, I suffered and was stuck on level 10 for that long in the game. Because before I can even reach the threshold of level 11, I am killed again and again many times, causing me to return to level 0. Of course, it was not a technique to earn more AP. Once you level up again on a level you dropped after dying, you would not gain AP at all so it is a useless tactic. However, players always resorted to "PKing" or Player Killing here. It was because the player who killed another player will gain the experience lost by the player. It was predatory and many fell victim to it. The Nexus Company didn't fix this and in the end, many suffered and many quit the game. There were many who endured and that includes me.

Some guilds utilize this thing and use lower leveled players as "EXP fodder", allowing them to earn quite hefty of levels easily by just executing players. The top brass of the guild I was in in the past timeline was like this. It was like easy exp farming without going personally to the hostile areas. I was one of those "fodders" and I was oppressed a lot. This is the so-called "payment" in exchange for the cost of buying Reality Verse and for playing Alternate World due to the work of the people who I thought to be my new friends. That is one of the biggest mistakes I made in my entire life.

Death is painful in the game. It was like you are killed again and again in real life. Sometimes, they will inflict trauma on your body in real life if you are not strong enough. The people who wanted do this thing restricted their fodders to lower their pain sensitivity and were tasked to have their pain sensitivities to Realistic. Many of my old comrades that time became crazy after becoming "Fodders". It was investigated in the past timeline and it was stopped. Of course, I didn't go crazy like them due to me having a higher mental fortitude than them and using it to train my body a lot. Although I experienced death several times in the game, I grew accustomed to it in the end, unlike my other comrades who eventually quit playing the game for good after dying 50 times or less than that. Due to how brutal the pain sensitivity is, it is only logical for them to quit rather than suffer countless deaths.

I survived and managed to discover a secret about death. And it was a very hidden title that no one has earned yet and cannot be earned by the others anymore, making me the official one obtaining it due to how many times I have been killed. It is not my proudest achievement but due to the effects it has, it is something that would help me a lot. This very secret is the main thing I want to get as it will definitely help me in this journey.

I left Mining Town and quickly made my way to the clearings where the monsters around level 1 are spawning. There are already lots of players killing monsters here and there, they are even fighting at each other to be the ones to kill them first. It's quite chaotic if they saw one. All of them are wearing shabby armor and wielding a shabby weapon based on their class. Well, my outfit is much shabbier than theirs as this was not even considered as armor. I didn't equip the armor and weapon yet, so you can say I am weaponless right now.

The clearing is not my destination and besides, the monsters here are weak and even if you beat them up barehanded, they will die after a few punches. Dying here is pretty much rare and the amount of gain is pretty low. Only those who are very reckless or airhead people die in that beginner area and no one will go here before they can even clear the tutorial.

My destination is the Silent Forest. And I am planning to repeatedly get killed there. Yes, getting killed and not killing enemies. In Alternate World, once a player dies, they are immediately sent to the Cathedral where players respawn. The last town or city you are in before you die would be your checkpoint and of course, your armor and weapons' durability plummet, level and exp decreases and money also drop. That is the basic death in this game and if you are overkilled, you might have a chance to drop the items in your inventory if you are not so careful about it. Heck, even your undergarments will drop too or be destroyed in the process.

However, there is one bug that the player killers who killed me several times discovered. It's a place where the body of the player does not disappear and gets sent to the cathedral. In those circumstances, it only occurs if the dead players died in a dungeon with a party, but it is not possible in a neutral area like this. Not only that but after a while, the player will respawn with 100 HP left in their HP bar. It isn't even a cathedral so resurrecting in this area should not be possible. That is why this one is considered a bug. No one reported it though. Not so many players stayed in this place after all and only beginners are usually around so it was not looked upon by the developers.

[Player discovered Silent Forest]

After the system announcement, I carefully tread my path. Most monsters here are level 5 and the highest leveled player this time around is still level 2. It is pure suicide for players to head here without weapons and armor. And for me, I am doing it on purpose. My goal is to die here after all.

The Silent Forest has an area where monsters do not dwell too much, so I used that path. It's easy to track if you have memorized this place. I have been wandering here in the past timeline for 1 year. This place is something I was so familiar with that even if I close my eyes, I can still see where I am going.

It didn't take me long before I arrived at the accursed bugged area. I prepared myself and look around. Just my presence caused the appearance of monsters. I counted six of them.

[Red Wolf]

Level 5

HP: 1000/1000

Attribute: Beast

The Red Wolf attacked and raised its paw, slamming it to my body.

-521

Red digits appeared and one thing registered in my mind.

PAIN!

With 100% synchronization and Realistic Pain perception, it is really painful. If this is real life, I would be puking lots of blood but since this is just a game, I did not puke out blood but my vision quickly turned colorless and the log quickly updated my status.

[You died! Respawning 10 seconds]

Respawn time only appear once your body is transported to the cathedral. However, my body did not disappear like how it does. My body remained and big digits counted down above my dead body.

Just as the cooldown disappeared, another three digits appeared above my head.

-600 critical!

Before I knew it, I fell once again and the respawn time appeared again. Time for me to endure.
