Versatile: Alternate World

I waited for the servers opening time today. The day they sell the Reality Verse is also the day of the servers opening for all players. It's 5: 55 P.M and the servers will open at 6:00 P.M. 5 minutes from now, the game will be officially live.

On the table is the syringe that was given to me before I returned to the past. It was one of the things that arrived with me after I arrived back to the past. I am sure there is something that would happen if I inject that to myself but what is it?

According to the one Tojiro, this thing will help me change my destiny but is there a good reason to use it?

I don't have anything I know that corresponds to that and it was so mysterious for him to give me this. Perhaps this has something to do with the game? Or perhaps it is some sort of serum that will allow me to regain my abilities like in the past? Although that is a bit not something that would be possible, there must be something that will happen if I inject it.

Although suspicious, there is nothing I can do. If this is something that will help me in changing everything, then I will use it.

Taking the protective cap of the needle, I didn't hesitate and inject the serum to my arm. It didn't feel anything weird to me aside from the little tingling sensation after I used the liquid but other than that, there is nothing which is a bit suspicious and a little bit disappointing. I thought I would get some surge of power or any kind of reaction to it but there was nothing.

DING

The bell on the father clock on the living room rings, signifying that its already time.

I shook my head and decided to lock the doors of the house in case someone breaks in. I know I am still far from that point where someone will try to kill me but just to be safe. I may be a bit paranoid about it but nah, I don't care.

After preparing for everything, I lay down into the bed and closed my eyes before I focused myself to enter the Alternate World. Since this is the Nexus Version of the Reality Verse, I can just do it anywhere I wanted to, and what style I do it. I can even use it while standing, though I barely do that unless I want a quick log in then log out. I also know that once I used the Reality Verse, my body will disappear and the only thing that would allow anyone to know that someone is in there is a small virtual marker floating abover where you logged in. This might be also one of the reason why people can learn magic using this way, it was like a simulator to train your body for magic.

I logged into the game. With my DNA already recorded, the account I have right now is bind to me. Unless I want to sell my account in which we have to go to the  Nexus Company to issue an account transfer, no one else can use and log in to my account without my permission. The moment I logged in, the interface appeared and a mechanized voice rang in my mind after I successfully entered the game.

"Initializing Data..."

The host will be sent to the avatar creation room in three seconds. Please stand by..."

A package? I was bewildered at first but I decided to disregard it for now. It might be some sort of welcome package for the testers like me and Rika who received the first chances to test the Nexus Version. I was curious about it but I still can't look at what it was since I still need to create my avatar.

I opened my eyes and I was transported to the avatar creation room. I am facing the familiar throne room. Its been a while since I have returned here. It was a very long time indeed.

Before me is a woman with a goddess aura, and a drop dead gorgeous face that anyone, whether a male or a female will turn to look at her. According to some girls, if they became a guy, they wanted to have a girl like her to be their GF. Her golden locks of hair are waving as the wind blows. Her ears are pointed and she is wearing a green gown that is seen as the usual dress for royalties. What is more, are the majestic wings she had that looks like they are emitting rainbow colors once radiated with sunlight. She has a small halo above her head that glitters from time to time and even though she is not an angel, she looks good with it.

Queen Titania

The queen of fairies and the wife of Oberon, the king of fairies and pixies. As usual, she is responsible for handing out the info to create your character. However, you can still see her in the game in the latter parts of the story quests. She is a level 500 NPC that resides in the legendary land of fairies. If you want to meet her again, you just need to become a level 500 player and perform some chain quests before you can visit the place. I didn't bother to unlock it but I heard unlocking the place was worth the trouble.

"Welcome brave warrior, welcome to the world of Alternate world. Please state your name," Titania smiled and a panel appeared in front of me with a keyboard, prompting me to put my name.

I quickly typed "Bladeheart" in the name. In the past timeline, I chose Relinquished Knight but I felt its not a good name for me and it sounds so cringe so I decided to change it. It's not a good name anyway and I used that name before when I am still on my chuunibyou days.

"Bladeheart, is that correct?"

"Yes"

"Your gender is male. You can't change it unless you want to be a woman," Titania started to raise her eyebrow.

"No, I don't swing that way. I am a straight guy, I don't have a habit of crossdressing or being attracted to men in a sexual way," I quickly added.

In Alternate World, you can't freely choose your gender. If you answered in that earlier sentence that "I want to be a girl", Titania will cast a magic skill that you are still a guy and can only wear girl's equipment. In short, you are stuck in a crossdressing look. The women are a bit fine and they looked good instead if they choose to wear guy clothes. The men demanded gender equality but Titania emerged and give them a middle finger. I think she will appear again later to scold those guys. Maybe she just didn't want men to fall in love to pretty characters only to find out that those pretty avatars they have are just a facade and in reality, they are muscular guys.

Same goes for the women, but it has a lesser impact as most girls looks great in men's clothing so they don't have any much problem with it. Only the guys suffer the treatment. Many would say this is some feminist NPC but perhaps this is their way to stop doing a character fraud. After all, many men uses cute female avatars to siphon money from thirsty males.

"Good. Then please select the race you want to use. Remember that once you choose your race, you can't reset your race again until you get the chance of a race reset coupon. If you want to choose another race, you need to buy the reset magic coupon for you to change your race freely. Your bank account is already connected so it will be automatically deducted once you choose to do so," Titania explained.

The policy did not change I see. This policy is meant to restrict players from keeping on making and resetting the characters they are playing. Unless they are willing to spend money, then they have to think hard what race they will get. Of course, a free race reset coupon will be given if a new race will be added in the game though that will happen in the first patch.

I scanned the race and found out that you only have three choices, Human, Beastman, and Elf. From what I can remember, the other races will be unlocked once the expansion is underway which will be a month later. The races only affect your appearance, not the stats, so even if you choose the elf race, you can't hope to have your MP become so big or anything that will affect your stats.

I quickly choose Human as I am not fond too much in changing my appearance and my body quickly got enveloped in white light though nothing changed.

"Human Race, is that correct?"

"Yes!"

"Please select the class you want to use. Just like the race, you can't choose again once you confirmed the class you selected. The same rules applied and the only way to reset your class is to reset your entire progress. Please choose carefully," Titania said.

I scanned the classes available this time around and look at them one by one.

Swordsman - uses brute strength to fight against enemies. It can be considered as the easiest class in the game.

Weapon: Shortswords and Long Swords

Samurai - similar to swordsman but has a more lethal arsenal and players who prefer agility-strength class, this class is for you. A vagabond, capable of slicing enemies in quick proficiency.

Weapon: Katana

Alchemist: A class that specializes in making potions and can control matter in their own will. Known for support and can change from support-offensive depending on the playstyle. A class that will allow the EX-job Alchemist much easier to learn.

Weapon: Hook Chain

Ninja - specializes in agility and ambush. They are master in blending in the night. It has a high critical hit but low in strength, however, the agility is top notch and has an arsenal of different skills to escape or kill. Specializes in using stealth and illusions.

Weapon: Kunai

Assassin - same to the  Ninjas, but they have access to revolvers and hidden blades. Their strikes are decisive and they can deal with high damages. Capable of holding off on its own when their cover is blown.

Weapon: Dagger, Pistol, Hidden Blade

Hunter - The archers in the game. They have high agility and can blend into nature if they will. Proficient in surviving the wild and capable of hunting monsters in silence. Forests are their playground.

Weapon: Bow/Crossbow

Cleric - the priests in the game. They are purely Support types and they have weak attack power but they aren't to be underestimated, as they can heal and revive everyone with their skills. The core of most parties in dungeons.

Weapon: Ceremonial Staff, Holy Book, Catalyst

Paladin - the main tanker in the game. Players who love to deal with attacks and facing head-on or just mere masochists, this class is for you. Class will have to use both hands and mastery will need to be very high as the party's safety hangs in this class. With their shields to block, the spears will allow them to charge to the enemy without worrying to be wounded by attacks by blocking the front with the spear pointed in the front.

Weapon: Spear and Shield

Holy Knight - a class similar to Cleric but are more proficient in combat and defensive buffs. They can heal but they are not so great like how a cleric does. Draws the combat power of the holy light and vanquishes evil forces using the sword. A pseudo- tank that doesn't need a sword to handle all the attacks.

Weapon: Greatswords, Maces

Magic Knight - a class that can control magic and blends the magic attacks on their sword strikes. Balanced in terms of attacks and intelligence. Sword style and Magic style in one class anyone who wanted to use magic but also wanted to use the sword to fight will find plenty of happiness with this class.

Weapon: Magic Sword

Magician - the magic users of the game. They had low health but is compensated with their high magic attacks and multiple magic spells. Has the highest MP capacity in the game. Excels in long-range combat but they can also be dangerous in short range too. Using their staffs, they can bonk you in the head if you are feeling horny.

Weapon: Staff

Fighter - the class that specializes in martial arts. They use their fists and legs to attack enemies. They follow the rules of nature and temper their bodies by striking their enemies with their bare hands and feet.

Weapon: Knuckles

Gunslinger - gun users in the game. They are not a good sniper like the Hunters but they excel in fighting semi range and close range. They have high agility and high critical hits but they somehow had a downfall in strength.

Weapon: Guns (Pistols, Revolvers and Dual Handgun)

Druid - commands the animals to do their bidding. Has a high affinity of taming monsters easily. It can transform from human form to animal form whenever necessary. They also have high affinity to fairies and pixies. They are well versed in the supernatural sense of the forests.

Weapon: Staffs and Bo staffs

Berserkers - the strongest warriors in the game. They purely rely on brute force and brute force only. They have high attacks and sometimes sacrifices their defenses to raise their attacks. They are slow but they have high health and almost rivals the paladin, but they have pretty low defense. Once they unleash their berserk power, they are unstoppable.

Weapon: Ax or Hammer

Versatile: the jack of all trades, master of none. A class that specialized in all classes mentioned above and can learn their skills. They can equip any items that only the other classes can equip. Their stats are balanced and they don't excel in anything. Players who claim as master of all the classes are welcome to try this class out. The only downside to this class is that it consumes twice the amount of experience that other players gained, making them the slowest players to gain a level. Players who hated grinding are meant to avoid this class.

Weapon: All weapons

I scratched my head. I won't say I am a master in all classes but I know how they work and how they can handle themselves in a battle, but I am a master in Magic Knight class. However, this class has been on my mind since the very beginning I played the game in the past. Although this caused me to stay away from it due to its warning of slow exp gain, I think I don't need to be afraid of it now due to a secret I know that will allow me solve the small EXP gain this class suffers in. I already changed quite a few things from the past timeline that I didn't follow, its not a big deal if I choose another class and change the future entirely. That is the beauty of starting in a fresh class.

After thinking for a bit, I decided to use the Versatile Class. Perhaps there is something that would allow me to grasp more on this class compared to just the Magic Knight class alone.

"Versatile, are you certain?"

"Yes!"

"Do you want to keep your face similar to the face in the real world?"

I hesitated a bit but then I decided that there is no point on slight alteration. I will be looking to find a good mask anyways and my face will be covered in the whole session.

"Keep it!"

"Thank you for all your response," Titania raises her hands and I was enveloped in a white light once again, but this time, I was covered wholly in white light.

"Your body will be automatically generated in the starting town. Please enjoy your stay in the Alternate World."

And with that, my vision is engulfed in white and I can't see anything. In the past timeline, I still remembered that I panicked when that happened that is why I was so embarrassed at that time because Titania laughed at me due to that. I did not panic this time and let things go.

After a few seconds, my body materialized and my vision slowly gets adjusted until it stabilized. I raised my hands and clenched my fist. Indeed, I returned to the Alternate World. The beginning of my journey will start back from scratch.
