12 The Hidden Quest

[Bladeheart activated the hidden chain Quest Moving Out. Would you like to accept the quest?]

So that was the only way to trigger it? No wonder it was easily discovered despite being a hidden quest. You just needed to talk a lot to Lily and hope to trigger it. Guess I got lucky that my talk-no-jutsu managed to even trigger this.

Since I don't know what kind of quest this hidden quest is, I checked the info to see whether I can handle this quest right now or I needed to grind a little bit more to handle things much easier.

[Moving out] Quest 1 out of 3

Type: Hidden Quest

Info: The tavern owner, Lily is planning to move out in the capital. To prove that you are strong enough to protect her and her family on the road, she needs proof and you need to kill ten Gray Wolves and bring their whole body in two hours.

Duration: 2:00:00

Gray Wolf Body: 0/10

Difficulty: Medium

Recommended level: Levels 4-5

Rewards: ???

I hated that most quests nowadays especially if they are really hard have the rewards marked as question marks. Most quests that have this obscure reward info is performance-type quest. Your performance in the quest will measure the appropriate reward for you. If you did poorly, then you would be paid poorly too and vice versa. Pretty straightforward but for beginners, this will make them get confused in the process.

I gobbled out all of the bread and cleaned up the Cheese Fondue on the bowl before I chug down the remaining Lemon Cola on the cup. After paying, I accepted the quest.

"Do I just need to bring 10 Gray Wolf back or do I need some other proof like their fangs?"

"Bring the whole body. Don't worry too much, I will properly compensate you on this test too so that you don't feel disappointed in the rewards," Lily smiled.

"Alright,, I will be back. I won't disappoint you," I stood up and was about to leave when she give me another warning.

"You better be careful while hunting the wolves, according to some of the local hunters that patrol regularly around the forests, they spotted an Elite White Wolf around. They are strong and with your equipment right now, I doubt you are going to be in good hands after. Be very vigilant in your surroundings, I don't want to send you to your death after all. Alright then! I will be expecting you!" Lily waved before I closed the doorway.

An Elite White Wolf huh? That is pretty strong and is still beyond my capabilities in my levels.

Before I set out to the Silent Forest, I opened the stat panel once more to check back on my stats. The beginner phase is the necessary phase I needed to keep on checking my stats. Without proper armor, one wrong move, and I will be dead.

With all of the armor and the extra stat that my Versatile Weapon is giving me, my balanced stat from before is now being overtaken by the AGI stat. It's not a bad thing but I am not in need of extreme speed of movements right now. What I needed is the extra power in my strikes, fast mana regeneration, and an increase in health and defense. I still have 13 AP to freely spend, therefore, I will use them on the three stats I needed to raise, spending 5 AP in INT, 5 AP in STR, and 3 in END to raise my HP and defense.

Since that is the case already, with my AGI and END now both equal in numbers, I decided to waste the remaining free SP in movement skills. I have to hold on to the passives. As much as they are really excellent, they are pretty expensive and I doubt I will keep on using this class much. If I wanted to at least have a proper return to my investment, paying for the movement skills will still net me a few SP in the future.

Ninja class excels in speed skills. Since I really need them if I have to at least chase against Grey Wolves or outrun them from chasing me, I had to spend my SP here. Enough being stingy.

Ninja SP: 0 Free SP: 43

1st Tier

1. Smoke Bomb (Active) - 5 SP

2. Silent Sprint (Active) - 10 SP

3. Poison Kunai (Passive) - 20 SP

4. Kunai Rain (Active) - 20 SP

5. Enhanced Vision (Passive) - 25 SP

6. Breathless Running (Active) - 25 SP

7. Giant Shuriken (Active) - 20 SP

8. Caltrop Bombs (Active) - 15 SP

9. Illusionary Team (Active) - 10 SP

10. Forest of the Bamboo Realm - 50 SP

There are lots of skills for movement in the Ninja's skill tree and many of it enhances your running time more. Of course, there re skills for killing enemies but I have no use for them right now. I picked up the Silent Sprint and Breathless Running leaving me with 8 Free SP. Now I am a poor bloke. But I don't need to cry for it, its not necessary since I can earn SP for later while I am using this, so it's not a failed investment. I just needed to wait until I earn enough to pay for some passive skills, so until then, I needed to save.

Now that all of the tasks is complete, I will need to go and begin the hunt. The two hours is running. I headed to the Silent Forest immediately before the time runs out.

...

...

"GRAWWRRR!"

I am still in the entrance but I can already hear the roars of the monsters inside the forest. Pretty ironic for a place with "Silent" on its name.

I swing my Versatile Weapon and with a single thought, the weapon changed from a sword into a staff. I plan to raise the SP of Magician this time. Impractical but it isn't as bad as I think so. Besides, the stat of the Staff is still the same as the sword, the only thing that changed is the process of attack, it's no longer inflicts basic Slash damage but will now inflict basic Blunt damage.

I can find the Gray Wolves deeper in the forest where I performed my "death" ritual. I also enhanced my vigilance in case the wandering elite wolf appear unexpectedly. Monsters are divided into Normal and Elite. Elite are monsters similar to the normal ones with slight alteration like their color, size and skills. They give bigger exp than normal so they are hunted by players. In any case, I needed to be careful in case I will be facing the elite wolf. I need to be careful in case I needed to face it and confrontation is inevitable.

I just stepped into the territory of the Gray Wolves again when I saw that the Wolves once again gathered into the area, barring their sharp fangs to me, ready to attack.

[Gray Wolf]

Level 5

HP: 5000/5000

Trait: Beast

I perform my battle stance and locked gaze to the wolves. The Gray Wolves started circling around me like their prey. Just like real wolves, they will feel intimidated if their prey didn't run away. I patiently waited for them to attack because attacking them first will trigger every wolf and attack you together. In this way, they will hesitate to deal with you in a one-on-one battle.

Then, one of the smaller wolves attacked. Just what I have been waiting for.

"GRAWR!"

The wolves started to get dangerous and started attacking. I rolled away before raising my staff into the nearest wolf on my right and casting [Basic Fireball].

SU!

A palm-sized fireball shot out from the tip of the staff, hitting the nearest wolf.

Bang!

-100

Crap, what a pitiful damage. Still, who cares if that is pitiful damage? Damage is still damage. As long as it can kill, it doesn't really matter.
