Unmotivated Hero's Tale

Teachers never end.

noon a month after the mayhem that rocked the cadet school. In the former SS room of the Military Office building, a man, the principal of the cadet school, was reading with his cheek cane, sipping coffee during working hours.

"Seniors...... come on, why don't you go to school?

"What is it, Eince? How do you say you invite that out-of-school kid to school? You saw the sign at the entrance, too. This is SS Room and" Second Principal's Office ". Don't you take it for granted that the principal is in the principal's office?

As Yui says, the sign, previously written in dirty letters as SS Room, was accompanied by a small letter beside it, the letter Second Principal's Office. The moment I first saw that sign, it was only a week ago that Ains weakened his whole body.

"Senior, the normal principal's office is in the school building."

"Come on, more or less the SS room here, the main house is in the Royal Castle, isn't it? It's not too bad there was a principal's office outside, is it?

Yui objected to Eince, the SS chief, referring to the new SS room set up at the Royal Castle.

"It's usually bad, that. Well, you can see the hardship of the new secretary used by seniors, I..."

"Hmm? You mean Prio? He's nice, unlike his predecessor Lauryn, accommodating and very easy to do. Besides, I'm competent, so I really don't have a choice."

On behalf of his predecessor Laurin, it was Prio Urcante, a young bureaucrat, who was seconded by the Ministry of the Interior from the aftermath of the incident and became the new Secretary-General. Yui thought of him and praised him without hesitation.

"Is some seniors rating better than being competent for accommodating? Well, that's fine, but why are you free today? What the hell happened to the lecture, the lecture?"

Eince said so with slight condemnation of Yui coming to this old SS room in the morning or afternoon, as he has done every day lately.

"Oh, it was Semi's lecture today, but I've left it to Lute and Alex. Lute was reluctant at first, but lately, with that hard face, you're coming all the way to me to ask for a lecture schedule. Besides, I'm gonna miss him on days without lectures, and for someone who knows him, it's a bit of a mystery."

Yui was finding a new side of him in the way that Lute, who is exactly solid when it comes to his work, is somewhat overjoyed or taken seriously for his students. But the fact is, for Eince, it was only a seed of headache.

"Um, seniors. Senior Lute has been heating up his cadet school class lately, so my work is on the rise. At first that guy was reluctant, but lately it's a saying of 'Well, I left Eince to you', so hey. During the eighty-eighth issue of the nightmare, I thought only that guy was decent..."

"Ha, I can't believe you thought Lute was decent, you didn't have eyes to see people"

With that said, Yui laughs at Eince's remarks, and Eince sighs on the spot like she's more tired. And when I reviewed Yui's face again, I cut out the topic I had always wanted to hear about.

"So, Senior, why don't you tell me what's going on? Fragmentally, I heard that the secretary was fired or that the youngest professor of magic was a spy, and I can tell from some HR and investigation records. But I'm not a party, so the whole picture of this case is refreshing..."

"Right, I was out of your mouth, too, when I wanted to hear the truth. This is a good opportunity for me to join you."

Both Yui and Eince voiced unexpected surprises when the old SS room door was opened by an unexpected person, along with a slightly lower sounding voice.

"" Minister Reinberg!

"Oh, relax, like I always say in the shadows, I wish I thought that Uncle Tanuki was here. In that clueless report, I had no idea what the details were, so I was wondering if it was time for us to talk properly."

To the reaction of the two, Rheinberg, laughing, walked into the room and sat down on a chair that was nearby. To the appearance of just Rheinberg, Yui, who was going to smoke the story to Aynth, also opened his mouth just because he had no choice.

"Uh, where shall we start… Well, the beginning of all cases starts with Lauryn accepting a lot of bribes from the Warm, if more precisely, from the Rhindle Kingdom in the form of going through the Warm"

"Is it from the Rhindle Country itself!

Hearing of state support for the crime, Eince voiced surprise unexpectedly. Such crimes due to state involvement can trigger war if done poorly. So Eince thought Warm individuals, or their collaborators, were taking in Laurin.

"Oh, the Rhindle Kingdom is currently in a civil war. The prime minister seems to be the dominant one, but they're doing more military boosting than they do now. It appears that the prime minister was targeting the skills and magicians of the Kingdom of Clarice via the Warm"

"But whatever the technology is, if you just keep the magician at hand, why don't you collect as much money as you can pile up?

While Aince tilted his neck, questioning him so, Yui shook his neck left and right to deny the opinion.

"Free magicians are not an easy gathering unless you also go to the southern Duchy of Filament, a magical power. My country, all magicians are trained in cadet schools, and it's normal to go straight into the Ministry of Magic, and Zara is a dubious guy who can really use magic, like a wild magician. It's not realistic to hire a mercenary stably. Besides, Rhindle is a magical backward country, and his own magician training agency is shutting down because of this civil unrest. So I guess from the nearest Clarice, I went from importing good students into slavery to trying to reinforce my power."

When Yui explained it that way, Eince nodded one thing and was convinced.

"I see you had that back there"

"Oh. Warm seemed to be simply fed research and experiments in a better environment, although some parts were doing it for the state. Looks like you got caught up in it and joined the Prime Minister's plan. Well, but that's why I even kidnap him, so the Mad Scientist guy's in trouble."

"Seniors sometimes don't choose the means."

"Not at all. You know, I'm gonna make an excuse for what this guy is, so it's even worse."

Eince and Reinberg both begin to accuse Yui of this, and Yui scratches his head once as if he had trouble reacting between them.

"Did you come to my ballistics, at all? Let's move on. The way the budget thing worked was simply to give Laurin a cash back for that instead of spending more than the rest of the Semi on the Warm. Though Lauryn once told Dr. Azwell's Semi that she had a budget because she would be suspicious if she split a massive budget on the new Warm."

"When I say Professor Azwell, is that the ghost professor?

As a student, Aynce asks in his brain what an awkward professor he has seen only a few times since Yui took him.

Yui then shook his head lightly vertically, affirming his words.

"Yeah, because that guy's the oldest stock in that school. Seems like a young man in the office once cared about that unusual draft budget, but because of Lauryn's eyes and Azwell's name, no one could say anything"

"I see. Azwell wouldn't be the right man to hide. Anyway, I'm totally interested in things outside of my own research. And many of the professors now owe him. Besides, he's going to a meeting, so it's a good idea to organize a counterfeit budget. But in the draft budget sent to me, I don't remember Azwell's guy's budget jumping through a lot..."

"But Professor Azwell and His Excellency are seniors and juniors at the cadet school, right? And that, if your Excellency sees it, is probably because you had the possibility of contacting Professor Azwell. So Lauryn had created some patterns of budget proposals that she seemed to distribute among them."

When Yui explains so, Reinberg drops his shoulder slightly to the fact that he was in the end fooled, with suspicion. Yui noticed Rheinberg's appearance like that and continued the conversation looking slightly harder to cut out.

"Well, one last thing about the kidnapping, thank you. In three years, as many as twelve students have been kidnapped."

"What, so much? So what about those kids?

Aynce was surprised that there was a double-digit kidnapper and asked Yui for details.

"I don't know the details, but from Warm's confession, he was turning it over to the Rhindle intelligence guy after he lost consciousness. Of course, when only my Semi gets fewer people, they get suspicious all around me, so it looks like I've kidnapped a good one from each Semi."

When Yui replied so, Rheinberg sighed loudly and accidentally looked up at the ceiling.

"Well... if it's true, while I was there, I had to pick up the warm at all costs."

"No, the report that goes up to Your Excellency unfortunately was all tampered with by the secretary...... I still think he was able to capture the warm in this way because he noticed the anomaly on campus and he could have called me"

Even though Yui says so to comfort Rheinberg, Rheinberg shakes his head slowly. And after a slight questioning of himself, he opened his mouth to Yui.

"You've told me a lot, too, so let me talk to you a little bit. Yui, you're probably going to be dismissed as a cadet principal for the current year."

All of a sudden, the scene froze. And Aynce asked Reinberg, setting aside some time to regain his composure.

"What, because the senior just took up the position of principal this fall. Why so soon..."

"Yui, did you see the list of cadets who graduated this year from the cadet school?

Yui answered Rheinberg's unexpected question without thinking.

"No, because the cadet aspiration is just a formality, and the Army Department is the Army Department, the Magic Department is the Magic Department, and the Strategy Department is the Strategy Department."

"That's what's different this year. It is said that there is a fourth force in the present army. In other words, there's an organization headed by a young man there."

"No way......"

Yui realizes what Rheinberg is referring to and makes her face slightly sticky.

"Oh, 40% of all graduates have SS as their primary aspiration. Which means SS is the most popular."

"Forty percent...... really?

"Oh, an organization created by Yui Istarz, the hero of the earlier Great War, and headed by the eldest son of Grand Duke Rhine. And the hero Istarts solved the Warm case, and if the students' ratings were to rise, it would be more like 40%, and the provinces would keep their hearts shut."

To Rheinberg's explanation, Yui accidentally holds his head and slams it against his desk. But neighbor Aynce couldn't think of a reason for it, and asked Reinberg.

"Eh, that's all I hear, I don't think Senior Yui has any reason to quit."

"Ace, think about it for a second. Well, even if all those who wish to join SS, SS will quickly become a major force if this trend continues in the future. Do you think the upper echelons and nobles of each ministry would be happy about that?

"... is that what you mean"

To Reinberg's explanation, Eince finally convinces the man next door who is still distressed, to shift his gaze.

"Ha, I thought I finally found a resting position..."

Yui finally woke up from her desk and when she scratched her head twice, she exhaled a deep deep sigh.

"The rest is all about opposition to example apprenticeship mobilization. But I made you principal to stop the apprenticeship mobilization."

"For once, I stuck with all the proposals for apprenticeship mobilization... so did you send me for that? I'm starting to feel like it's all your fault that I hate the Home Office, the main warriors, the nobles."

After a defensive battle with the Empire, the Clarice army, which rapidly fell short of soldiers, was in urgent need of reinforcement. In the current defense system, the southern side has seen the destruction of the Imperial Army's magician unit in the last battle, and it is assumed that there are no problems. The northern Rhindle, however, was believed to be the impetus for the Prime Minister's advance in arms expansion to bull the country and, if the civil war were to converge in the future, it would undoubtedly target the weakened Kingdom of Clarice first. For this reason, as an easy and inexpensive way to increase the number of soldiers, the proposed mobilisation of apprentices by cadet and preschool soldiers was often on the agenda, and Yui, as cadet principal, was poking at all of it.

"So I'm going to hear your hopes before I can still decide on next season's HR. To the best of my ability, of course."

"Don't you have a workplace like that where you don't work, drink coffee, and get paid if you're reading a book"

"Isn't that right here! No, because when the seniors come, they're going to involve the others and skip it."

Eince rushesitates to stab the nail against Yui, who is willing to sit in the SS room.

"You, when you got your position, didn't you get a little cold?

"Well, no SS, regardless of whether Eince is cold or not. It would have fallen to be called factionalization."

When Rheinberg denied it, Yui gave a weak look.

"Ha... you don't have any other idle jobs, no idle jobs?

"If it's up to fourth place, there's a military chief in a big city. In third place, what can be described as an absenteeism is about the head of the cadet school you are now taking up. You think I'm gonna make it easier on you?

To Rheinberg's response, Yui drops his shoulder. And once I scratched my head, it gave me a serious look, as I had noticed, and I opened my mouth all the way.

"... then you have no choice. If they're going to work anyway, can you assign me to the Foreign Office?

"Foreign Ministry?"

Reinberg asked back unexpectedly to Yui's hope.

"Yeah. The Foreign Ministry is a joint HR from the Home Affairs and Military Ministries, isn't it? So if it's possible, I'd like you to assign me to the Foreign Office."

"Hmm, I dare you to ask. What are you thinking?

From Yui's expression, Reinberg feels it's obviously a statement with some thoughts, and asks Yui for its aim.

"No, it's no big deal...... I just wanted to give my resident ambassador at the Rhindle his life."
