Unmotivated Hero's Tale

Saubakrien's Field I

Saubakrien.

That is the name of the Great Plains located in the southern part of the Kingdom of Clarice.

This great plain of blue and summer grass was the place everyone in the upper ranks of the army envisioned as a point of building a defense force.

That was because the Royal Clarice Army succeeded in mobilizing far more troops than the Imperial Army, and so the endless breadth of Saubakrien was considered the best fit for a massive troop deployment.

"Your Majesty, at last."

The Royal Army is splitting the whole thing into three great formations for this battle.

Of those three formations, there was a main formation led by King Orado in the middle of the rearmost third.

Mepler, the military secretary entrusted with the deputy commander, tells Orado that he is headed next door when he sees the smoke rising from the march across the meadow.

"I know. But I'm an amateur, needless to say. Basically, the command is on you, Mepler. I asked for it."

"Ha. After this, Your Majesty will ask the soldiers to fly to war, thank you."

When Mepler takes Orado's word and bows his head, he asks for inspiration for the soldiers.

"Okay. Then get ready."

Orado nods one at Mepler's words and actions and immediately skips the instructions.

And the Meplers, who were instructed, and the men of the upper echelons, began to prepare for the match in unison.

Within such a headquarters, Armad, who had refrained by Orado as chief of staff, is also busy preparing for battle.

But his gaze was occasionally directed at one party in Sharem, positioned on the left wing, and he did not fail to exercise regular vigilance against them.

Now, in this battle, the operations set up by the Meplers and their military leaders are of a two-stage structure that uses fishing methods and semi-sixing methods.

Divide the first battalion, which focuses on infantry and horseman and magic swordsman, the second battalion, which focuses on archers and magicians, and the third battalion, which has its main battalion, into three parts, and first protrude only the first battalion towards the enemy army.

And if the enemy's front line succeeds in responding to their march and fishing them out, the soldiers in the first line slowly retreat, dragging the enemy's front line under their allies.

It was to crumble the archers and the enemy troops that had been fished with magicians placed in the second line, and attack them all at once, including the bodies that had been kept warm against the confused enemy forces.

But if the enemy's front lines don't respond to this first line, this operation won't make it.

In that case, as a second operation, it slows down the march of the first battle before colliding with the enemy, expanding the second and third battalions left and right, respectively, and advancing them all at once.

In that way, the entire army is formed into a half-moon shape to lay a semi-surrounded posture that exploits a number of advantages. This was the outline of their contemplated binary operation.

"Your Majesty, the whole army is ready to go!

When each unit receives a ready report and rushes under Orado, Mepler tells them that the showdown is ready.

"Well... now we're going to fly to the soldiers. Ready?"

"Of course, Your Majesty. We look forward to hearing from His Majesty whether all the soldiers are now or not."

Orado nods loudly once he sees a slight uplift in mood for the first line as Mepler replies that way with his head hanging.

And he spoke to the soldiers in an all-out voice.

"O brave Clarice kingdom generals! Right now, an empire with exactly bad ambitions and our enemies is approaching right there trying to invade our country. But we should know! That we have two million Clarice people behind us, and your family in it. [M] They are still frightened and trembling at the shadow of the Empire. I, Orado von Ertbout, promise you all. I will fight with you on this battlefield to protect what you must protect. And I want you guys to promise me something. Together with me, to fight together to protect our country. Come on, let's go!

"" Ooh wow!

An endless cheer was sent by the soldiers of the Royal Army to King Orado's outpouring.

With that cheer in his ear, Orado puts his own sword in front of his chest and sticks it straight up toward heaven.

And with the hung voice, he turned his sword tip toward the Imperial Army and raised the voice of his instructions in high spirits.

"First lap, move on!

Responding to that voice unleashed by Orado, the first formation of the Royal Army begins marching towards the Imperial Army while maintaining its ranks.

And as they first proceeded with their troops to the midpoint between the Royal Army body and the Imperial Army, Orado raised the voice of the next instruction.

"Second line, stand down!

In response to Orado's decree, the magicians and archers belonging to the Second Battalion will be ready for battle. And watched the first line of motion with the ability to start the fight at any time.

But their preparations were also vain, and they did not make the imperial front a faint move, even if the first regiment proceeded to a point where they could say it was somewhat imperial.

"Report. The first battalion is approaching enemy forces, but the enemy's front line shows no signs of moving forward as it stands!

Following a report from a transmitter belonging to the Intelligence Department, Mepler, a deputy commander, punches one tongue.

"Shit, can't you fish it out... Chief of Staff, what do you think?

When Mepler asks that to Armad, who refrained next door, he puts his hand on his chin to slightly circle his thoughts.

"Right...... it is clear that in this battle the enemy has less fighting power than our army. So if you let the front line stick out, are you thinking about the possibility that a Ranger will be born in the rear? As for the inferior number of soldiers, I'm sure they want to make the most of the smaller ones and fight in a situation with less power difference."

"Well, that makes sense, too. So, what do you think you should do?

"If you just stand out for the first time like this alone, no matter how few opponents you have, you could be destroyed each. I know enough of the enemy's reaction, so I don't think we need to be aggressive here. How about forming a half-moon formation in all armies as planned and putting enemies under siege, or pulling the first battle completely once and for all and defensively? My army has an overwhelming advantage in terms of the barracks."

In addition to the semi-sixing operations planned if the enemy did not take the fishing tactics, Armad himself proposes defensive warfare proposals that he has been lecturing students as a teacher.

"Hmm...... it's not bad to be thoroughly defensive indeed. But if you can't catch your enemies from the beginning, you planned to go for the siege. Besides, the first battalion is also the force that took it on His Majesty the King's march order and sent it out, and you can't easily revoke that order. Let's move the whole army forward according to the original plan."

When Mepler so decides after taking into account the king's face, he immediately sends an order to slow down the march towards the first inning.

And to all the other armies, he gave a march order to catch up with the first battle in a hurry.

At this point, in Mepler's brain, a blue picture emerges that will semi-surround the Imperial Army and kick their ass.

Unlike his assumptions, however, the actual reality was that the first line of allies, which was supposed to slow down the march, had begun to show completely different movements from those ordered by the summit.

"Lieutenant! We've been instructed by the main unit to slow down the march."

"What... you want me to slow down?

Murtina, who belonged to the Magic Regiment and was entrusted with the leadership of the Regiment selected for this first inning, frowns at reports from his men.

"Yes, because the enemy did not respond to this march, we ask you to slow down and reposition yourself once. And the second and third battalions have caught up with us, and yet again, orders have been given to all the army to turn to the enemy."

"... you idiots. I guess the enemy won't intercept us because they're frightened of our advance. Aren't they moving a step from that position now? Why should we be on our guard against such cowards?

"It... may be so"

When Murtina's men were slightly overwhelmed by his boss's angry story, they could not find any more words to flatter him.

"Anyway, it's obvious what the guys in the main unit think. We're supposed to leave some delicious bait for our own handles. Hmm, ridiculous. Why should we shy away for their handles?

"But as it is, you ignore orders."

"You don't mind. Either way, if you raise the handle, you don't deserve to be blamed for some things. I'd rather miss a good opportunity to set up a handle like this!

Murtina had been planning a plan to run through the front line and slap offensive magic on the front line of the enemy army as the fastest spear since before the start of the battle.

That is clearly a plan created from the desire to emerge, but it was the presence of Yui Istarz as if to cock himself, the president of the school year, that set him in the background with that plan.

The anxiety and jealousy that ordinary people were superior to the Grand Duke's son-in-law self had plunged him into a state of obvious narrow horizons.

"Anyway, we move forward at this rate and play the spear best. Now move on!

When Murtina, who decides to do so, yells to inspire the troops, the First Magic Regiment continues its march at the same rate.

And the other troop leaders, who looked sideways at them like that, were also starting to increase their rate of advance by trying to think that they should not let the Murtinas monopolize the handles.

Around that time, on the other hand, in the main camp of the Imperial Army, a bewildered voice had begun to rise to the unexpected rate of march of the first formation of the Royal Clarice Army.

"General Lin En...... what the hell are they going to do? Obviously, the enemy's avant-garde can be seen entering our army alone."

Turning to General Lynn En, who is entrusted with the command of the army on the Clarice side, his staff, Royce, gives a puzzled look, while expressing such doubts.

"... Hmm. Can't you think of any chance they realize our magic and are trying to do something about it?

Lin En mentions the secret key in this operation to the possibility that Clarice is sniffing it out.

But his young staff heard his boss's inquiry, and he immediately shook his head left and right to deny it.

"It is not possible that the information is leaking... but if it is, there is no explanation for the formation taken by the enemy. If you knew what we were doing in advance, you wouldn't be in that position."

If Clarice's people felt their aim, Royce was convinced that this battle would have opened the curtain in a different way.

He is therefore almost certain of his own victory in this battle at a stage when the battle was thus to take place directly from the front.

"I see, so is that. For example, let's start by intercepting enemy forces with a positive attack method. Then, as the enemy's front-line troops approach, lower the center and lay the crane wing formation. Then the march speed on the enemy front decays, and their main force uses the magic of the example as they push down below us. All right?"

"Yes, I got it. We'll make arrangements as soon as possible."

When Royce receives Lynn En's will, he immediately rushes out to execute the operation.

And the brave warrior who was left on the spot groaned toward the universe looking at the enemy front line approaching his own army.

"Now, Royal Army, let's have some fun at best"
