In the end, the group selected the first mission since it was the one that had the longest timer. While that decreased by twenty hours since the previous day, it still was better than nothing. The only issue was the fact that the reptilians certainly weren't weaker than ice slimes.

Once they did that, the group was teleported to the middle of a city covered in grass and vines. At first, Jake thought they finally would find some human life there, but then he realized that the buildings were a bit weird. They had a triangular shape on their top, and they were pretty tall but not large. Nevertheless, they didn't have time to worry about that; they spawned fifty meters away from a group of five Reptilians that were walking around for whatever reason, and when the creatures felt their presence, they turned around and dashed toward them.

The creatures looked pretty strong, and they even had some armor on their shoulders and chest. They also had long spears since they were on the size of adult humans, and the gear they were using sure suited them. Nevertheless, they had a green skin on the external parts of their bodies and also a pretty long and thick tail. They looked pretty similar to some reptiles from Earth. The only difference is that they were humanoids.

Since his mana was full, Jake started by firing three Mana Blades at them to stop their charge to some extent and buy time. Thanks to that, Louise created an Ice Arrow big enough to freeze the arms of one of the monsters when the creature blocked the projectile with its spear. Using that chance, Jake approached while holding his claymore, and then he used Bash when he swung his weapon toward the neck of the creature. Much to his surprise, Jake beheaded the monster on a single try.

Two other reptilians tried to attack him from the front and from his left side, but Jake repelled the attack by using Cyclone Strike. However, he still got surprised when the monsters blocked his sword strike with their weapons. Getting some of those might be useful later…

Jake prepared himself to receive another melee attack, but those two stepped back, and the other two pointed their spears toward him. However, they were too far away to reach him. In the next moment, Jake saw some Water Balls appearing in front of their spears, and he knew that it wasn't a good sign since the closer ones were preparing to attack the very moment he blocked them. Instead of waiting for the attacks, Jake suddenly dashed toward the nearest enemies and then swung his claymore toward their necks. The creatures blocked the strike with their spears, but then Jake created an arrow of black flames and then made it pierce the head of one of the monsters until it reached the brain.

That had been a lot easier than Jake had expected… still, two Water Balls flew toward his head, and he ignored them. In the end, Lana cast Barrier on time to block the projectiles, and Jake didn't suffer even a scratch. Louise fired two Fireballs toward the monsters that were keeping their distance, and that gave Jake the chance to step backward, take a deep breath, and then swing down his sword with all his might toward the enemy. His claymore destroyed the spear and also split the monster's head in two.

When Jake turned to face the other enemies, he saw them collapsing after getting hit in the face by two other Fireballs. Louise finished them pretty easily… Jake didn't notice, but it seemed her magic powers increased yet again.

"Aww… come on," Jake protested when he saw the spears of the monsters turned into water.

It would be pretty useful if he could gather those weapons and use them alongside Throw, it would be pretty awesome… Nevertheless, Jake had to forget about that because another group appeared on the West side of their direction. Naturally, the battle made a lot of noise, and the monsters apparently were itching to fight something…

"I can't see the dungeon, but the spawning rate is…" Jake muttered.

"Come to think of it, what is a dungeon break?" Louise asked.

Jake had no idea what it was… it was probably something that happens when a dungeon isn't cleared often. That would explain why they found two groups of five Reptilians so soon. Besides, there was no way the system would teleport them so close to the dungeon. It would be too easy of a mission if that were possible… probably. It might be the other way around as well. If that was reality and the monsters wanted the dungeon break, they would form defensive lines to prevent invaders.

In any case, Jake didn't move from his spot. He just readied his sword and then activated Concentrated Strike since he had a certain idea. The girls frowned when they saw that, but they knew that Jake didn't have a death wish, so they just decided to offer support silently.

When they saw Jake standing still, the monsters grinned from ear to ear. An immobile target was everything they ever wanted. So, they dashed toward him without noticing the look that Jake had in his eyes. When the monsters got close enough, Jake let his skill explode and then swung his sword before the spears could hit him. His horizontal swing beheaded the five monsters instantly since they were completely open to a counterattack. Well, Lana used her buffs at the last moment, so Jake couldn't say that he did such an amazing thing by himself.
