Tou no Madoushi

Episode 8: The Magic Factory

After lunch, Lynn took to the association again.

To go say hello to Yuin, my master.

Yune's room is said to be located in that overhanging area of the College District above the 10-49 floor, a factory district.

It is a place where you are not allowed to enter the present Lynn, an apprentice magician.

For that reason, it was necessary for Lynn to come down from Uyne to Rainlill in order to meet Uyne.

When I contacted her at the association desk, she said that Yuin was already in the modem room.

Lynn asked how to get there at the reception before heading to the depot.

When I walked into the pantry, there was Uynn. Just like when I brought Lynn to this tower, she had a black robe, a black hat, black shoes and full body blackheads.

Lynn realized for the first time here that Yuyne was wearing the same robe as the association's humans.

"Hey, Lynn. I hear you passed the exam safely." Yuin spoke with his usual unchallenged voice.

"Yes, thanks to you"

"I hear you've expressed Rydges' sword. Let's do it. I wonder what this is the first time you've used a ring? For the first time, there's no one inside who can get Ridges' sword out."

"... Hi.

Lynn honestly didn't know if it was something she was happy with, although she was praised. Because the way Uynn talks always does, but somehow it feels like it contains irony.

He had the difficulty of suddenly becoming grumpy while not putting much emotion on the table.

Lynn didn't like this place of his.

"Um, so it's about the future..."

"Oh, I'm sorry, though. I don't have time for you."

Yuyne said, sighing spicidly. I feel sincerely sorry for that attitude, which was more an unspeakable way of saying it or not. It was an attitude that just told me to "guess what happened".

"I'm still pretty busy with this. I have my own research, and I have a job as an employee of the Magic Instructors Association. I don't have time for your college exam preparation. [M] I'm sorry, but I need you to work on your own to get into college."

"After all, does the master work for the association?"

"That's right. You'd have noticed that too, wouldn't you? That the wizard who lives in this tower wears robes of different colours depending on his residence, profession and title. This black robe. This will be paid to the staff of the association."

"Then the progress report and greetings to the Master that I have to give once a month..."

"Oh, you don't have to do that either. Think about it. Getting down to Renlil once a month is a lot of work. Sometimes I go on business outside the tower. Don't you think it's a bad idea to tweak each other's plans every time?"

Yuin put it in such a way as to teach poorly informed students.

"Okay."

"To put it further. Unlike students and teachers at school, a teacher does not instruct his disciples unilaterally. It's something that elevates each other. Not only must the disciple be taught by his master, but he must also be given fresh perspectives and awareness in order to develop his master's research. In that sense, you are not even qualified to be a disciple. Clearly, it's useless. Those who can't even read magic letters can't even pose a challenge. At least you need to be able to read and write about magic characters. We'll talk about it later."

"Yes, you are."

Lynn nodded internally fed up with Yuin's length of disgust but without disrespect.

"Well, first thing you need to do is pass the college. That way you'll be able to enter and exit the city of Alfld on the 90th floor, too. If it's Alfredo, it's a lot closer to my lab. Call me when you pass college again."

That's all I'm saying, Yuin gets up and tries to leave the room.

"Oh, wait. How do I contact my master?"

"Oh, then ask the association. It will give you the destination of my room. I'm sure you'll never use my destination."

When she said that, Yuin walked away with a shitty look at Lynn.

Lynn joined Theo, who was waiting for me at the association reception after she broke up with Yuin.

"Sorry. I kept you waiting."

"Fine. What did he say about your master?

"Theo was right. I can't take care of it because I'm busy. First you pass the academy."

"I knew it. Fuck you."

"My master thinks I won't take the college exam."

"Really?

"Yeah. 'You won't be using my destination,' Lynn said softly.

"Your master too...... you're some kind of shady guy. Don't worry about it.

Lynn and Theo left the association and hurriedly walked down the street. Next I had to go say hello to where Lynn was going to work, to the factory.

Trolleys and elevators are installed in all parts of the factory, and supplies come and go.

Some kids my own age, others much older.

They were all like apprentice magicians.

Word crosses the back of my brain that some people end up with apprentice magicians for the rest of their lives that people in the association said.

The head of the factory was his uncle who grew a black beard on Bobo.

I have black robes on my shoulders but I don't realize I'm an association person unless I take a good look at them full of gray coal.

"Whoa, you're Lynn. I hear it from the association. Have you carry the load? [M] It's what New America does. You've just come to be affordable. Hey, Theo. Show him an example."

"Heh."

When Theo takes out his cane, he walks to the loader just now carried by the elevator.

The load is wrapped in a box of metal that looks heavy, not very much, but it's unlikely to be lifted by a child's arm.

Theo casts a spell at the cane when he reads the sticker on his luggage.

Then the box floated fuzzily.

Further as Theo waves the cane, the load accelerates towards the elevator ahead indicated by the cane and flies away.

The load slows down just in front and slowly lands in the elevator box. Theo then rushes to the elevator and casts a spell.

The elevator takes the load and goes up.

"Man, this is how it is, just because how much magic is convenient doesn't mean you can leave it all to the elevator. Each luggage destination is different. I wish my luggage would pick a destination of its own, but that's not how it works. We have to do it with some manpower. Have this done for norm minutes every day. There are 200 norms. If you can't achieve Norma, you won't get paid that day. I won't leave until you do the rest the next day. I don't mind having you go home as long as you achieve the norm. I'm sure there will be some college exam studies. You'll want to go home as soon as possible. It's about doing the norm if you want to go home soon. Did you get the story so far?

"Yes, I'm fine"

"Some luggage is tens to 100 kilograms long, but with a cane, you can amplify and carry magic. You're a little impossible to carry without a cane. Unless you are also such a high-ranking magician. Well, you can't. Ask them to buy their own cane. The wand is like pride to a magician. You can't just pay for all this unlike any other magic guide. So buy me a cane by tomorrow."

That's why Lynn and Theo took a trip to the cane store.
