To Be a Power in the Shadows!

A glimmer of light plunged into darkness

Rose closed her eyes and listened to that beautiful melody.

Shadow's playing moonlight was different from any moonlight Rose had ever listened to. Even if the song is the same, it changes its look by the player.

Shadow moonlight is darkness.

Deep, deep night darkness. And just a glimmer of light to plug in there.

Is that light the moon, or...

There was no time to guide the answer, and the performance marked the end.

Rose slapped her hand, enjoying the aftertaste that resonated with the cathedral to the end.

The sole applause echoes.

The applause naturally sounded like Shadow as well. He took his seat and returned his graceful thanks.

"Shadow, are you..."

Rose said that much and realized there was no word to go on. I just felt like Shadow would leave if I didn't say something.

"It was definitely the best moonlight I've ever heard. Er..."

Rose asked herself what she was talking about.

There's got to be something else to ask Shadow.

"What do you make..."

Shadow said in a voice echoing from the abyss.

"Huh...?

Rose thought a little and understood. He's asking why he made the case.

"I... wanted to protect everyone... I wanted to grasp the best future...... But I couldn't......!

Rose squeezed out the words.

"Is that where it ends..."

"Huh...?

"Is that where your battle ends...?

"Even I... I didn't want to end up here... ugh"

Rose grips a bowing fist.

I wanted to do something about it. I still think so. But there's nothing more she can do.

"If I'm willing to fight you... I'll give it to you"

That's what Shadow says, gathering blue-purple magic in his palms.

"Give me strength..."

"Power...?

The magic of blue-purple adds radiance and dyes the diocese beautifully. Intense magic shivers the air.

"With that power, the future can change...?

It's up to you.

Rose noticed herself attracted to the magic of blue-purple. If I had the strength of a shadow.

I'm sure everything had changed.

If I had the strength... there's still something I can do. As Princess of the Kingdom of Oriana, there are things to be accomplished.

The light returned to Rose's eyes.

"I want... I want power......"

"Fine..."

And the magic of blue and purple was unleashed.

It sucks into Rose's chest in a straight line and circles the body.

The warm power quietly investigates the magic of Rose, who was disturbed. Some heavy, unfettered magic moves lightly and freely.

"Awesome..."

Rose sincerely thought so.

This is the magic of Shadow......

And this is the world Shadow sees….

"Fight... and you deserve to fight with me... show me"

When I realized, I didn't see Shadow anywhere.

Only the voice sounds in the cathedral.

"Don't forget... strength isn't power, it's the way it is..."

And the signs of Shadow disappeared.

Rose was left alone in the diocese.

I can hear the chaser's footsteps. Feel the tremor of the air.

An unprecedented amount of magic was swirling in my body.

I even thought I could get caught already. But with this power... there's still something I can do.

Rose pulls out her fine sword and looks at the broken door.

And the next moment, a group of blackheads appeared through the door... and a blood splash broke out.

They were slaughtered, without time to perceive Rose's fine sword.

Dyed the cathedral with blood, Rose lays down her fine sword and closes her eyes.

I guess this is how Shadow has fought the Church as well. Unbeknownst, they kept fighting.

The moonlight Shadow plays brings back into Rose's head.

I thought I figured out what a glimmer of light meant plunging into deep darkness.

Maybe the light is Shadow himself. He is not darkness, but a glimmer of light in the face of darkness.

Rose thought so.
