The Strategist Knows Everything

Chapter Four Forward Four

Two months have passed since the end of the civil unrest. The regrouped nascent Velis army was placed on the border and successively in each castle.

To a certain extent, we, the Kingdom of Velis, have hit the next hand when the deployment of the army is over.

Restore national relations with all countries. To that end, Velis sent out an invitation to the countries that had been in contact for a long time.

It's an invitation to a party to deepen friendship.

No country has ever considered assassination, abduction in an invitation from Velis before, and would never have nodded, but now Velis is being perceived once and for all as different from the former king Velis. The parties were endorsed by the countries and the eminent persons were informed that they would participate as messengers.

However, some countries did not reply. So is Albion. Well, naturally. The last messenger was Sofia, and Sofia was targeted. As an Albion, it must have been nothing but humiliation. Cheap will not overshadow your appreciation of Velis.

"Ren, are you there?

"There he is. Sir."

My office just got up in the sun. The door there opened quietly and a girl seconded by the hermit Umbra came in. Almost silently.

His name was Len, and because of the way he talks and behaves like a man, Mikana was also mistaken for a man at first. Ren says it seems like a virgin art, and it seems to be a lot of trouble when it comes to being a woman. I'm the girl now, right? I was vigilant when I asked.

"I need a favor."

"Make sure you pay."

"I understand. I want a few of your people near the border. Naturally, let me know if you need anything."

"Is that a message to the elders? Don't push me to do such an easy job. I wish I could run the horse right away."

I smile bitterly at Len, who looks fed up. Hell, Len complains like this when he gives him a role that's too easy. He thinks I'm treating him like a child.

"Right. Then I'll get the horse out early. Ren has been hustling about gathering messengers from all over the King's City."

"It's getting easier, isn't it!? You can eavesdrop on the Chancellor's story, you can explore the neutral ones, you know!

Ren screams like that as he steps on the ground waste. But from me, it's true that Bade, who was appointed Chancellor the other day, doesn't want to do anything extra because he's under Dio's jurisdiction.

What's more, the neutrals are also turning with Master Dio speaking out. Now all I have to do is deal with Albion and get ready for the party.

"The Chancellor is dealt with by Master Dio. My opponent isn't in the country, he's out of the country."

"Don't say that... You're not gonna know what I'm here for...?

Seeing Ren drop her shoulder a little like she said, I felt like I did something a little worse. Right now, I don't have a sudden job in here.

Does it move a little?

"Well, I'll get you to do your job. I need you to find out where someone is."

"Is that true!? I'll check it out in a minute!

"When Master Dio and I saw the exercise, there was a commander who was making a good move. He was on the regular side of the army."

"Is that the guy you were fighting with that pig bastard? You want me to check on him?

"Find out, I want to see you if I can, and I want to know where you are."

"Okay. I'll find out soon enough!

Seeing Ren walk out the door in a whim, I smile.

"She's easy to understand."

Saying so, I anticipated that I would be back around noon, and by then I started putting up a calculation for cleaning up some work.

■ ■ ■

"I've been looking into it... why..."

At first, the momentum came in, but Len's voice slowly dwindled. Probably because I was getting ready to go out.

What I'm wearing right now is similar to the clothes I wore when I went out with Dear Dio, but in slightly different shades. It's a deep blue dress, and Micah picked it out for me.

"I was wondering if it was time to come."

"... so hard. This is the time, huh? How could you expect that……………"

"'Cause I knew Ren was gonna work so hard."

Saying so, I smile and walk out of the office with Ren.

While walking, I can still hear the report, and it's about Len. I would have figured out where to find him.

"What was he like?

"A woman. His name is Nicolas Riole. You're the daughter of a fallen Count. She's a creepy bitch, isn't she? My nickname in the army is Coward. Is he good with a guy like this?

"That's fine. It's not like cowards are bad. So, where were you?

"It's an orphanage. He was playing with some kid."

An unexpected place came out and I'm a little surprised. The only orphanage in this king's capital is built by Master Kaguya. Nevertheless, I can't say I'm still on track, and I heard you were understaffed, but I didn't know the military officials were helping.

"Hey, Len."

"What is it?

"Did you seem nice?

"... Isn't that sweet? Sounds like we're off today, but that's enough to get us to an orphanage. It's possible that there's no bee."

"Oh well. Looking forward to seeing you."

"I'm not looking forward to anything. Why, I have to follow you, too. What?

Turn your hands behind your head. That's what Ren says. Even though I said that, I didn't hear any footsteps from earlier. It must be completely stained.

"You can play with the orphanage kids, okay?

"I'm not playing! Don't treat me like a child!?

"No, you're free while I'm talking, right? So be free."

"I'm not free! Be careful around you! Enough! I'm not following you!

Did the child's treatment touch the epilepsy considerably, Ren stops on the spot and waves at me all the time.

While smiling bitterly, I negotiate.

"I'll buy you whatever food you like in the market, so follow me."

"... don't get angry where you think you can fish with things"

"No?"

"... I'm gonna hit you with my hand at lunch because I haven't had lunch"

I have a deal. I say and walk out again. Ren also follows from behind. There is a slight footstep standing.

She's really easy to understand.

■ ■ ■

I have lunch in the dining room where I say I have a reputation in Wang Du and I can hear the children shaking in the ears of me and Ren as they head to the relaxing orphanage.

There were a large number of children in the orphanage, which was remodeled into a small hall. There will be quite a few people to take care of this number.

Is there a shortage of manpower anywhere after all? Velis is greatly depopulated during the tyranny of his predecessor. The battle was one of the reasons, but many of the handouts left the country. The king did not stop it. I guess the majority of those without handouts or money expected to stay.

With more than some population, it is difficult to rule without solid policies. In that regard, I would say that the Predecessor knew himself and his country very well.

"What can I do for you?

While I was thinking, an elderly woman spoke to me. Probably the one who manages and runs this orphanage.

"I'd like to see a little bit about the orphanage, would you mind?

"I don't mind... who are you like?

"It's a use from the castle. He told me to check on the kids at the orphanage."

"You're a different person from His Majesty's use. I am told not to let the suspicious enter as much as possible…"

No matter how closely I look at my outfit right now, it will only show up to about a merchant. Would it indeed be suspicious if such a person suddenly visited an orphanage?

I take out the dagger I've missed. The dagger is engraved with a royal crest, so it's enough to show your identity.

"Is this not going to convince you? If I can't get it, I will get permission directly from Master Kaguya?

"Yes, no! Be disrespectful without knowing someone of high stature! Please forgive me!"

"Never mind. I originally came here without permission, so there is a problem here. Do you mind if I come in?

"Doh, go ahead! But what do the kids do..."

"You can do as you always do. Don't worry about it, either. Think of it as just a customer coming. I'll be right back. If you are anxious, you may report it to Kaguya later. If you tell me what I'm talking about, you'll soon find out."

The older woman slowly lowered her head to see if she had guessed who I was or if she was convinced after blinking me several times.

I'm the only one with black eyes in black hair near Master Kaguya's side. If you are not a flower on the island, but a Kaguya associate, do you immediately realize that?

"Again, I apologize for your disrespect."

"Never mind. This is where I worked my disrespect."

Saying so, I turn my back on an elderly woman.

Happy Ren calls out to me because you ate dinner from behind me.

"You're pretty awesome husband. It's usually refreshing."

"It's not like I have a title, so I'm a civilian. And it's usually too refreshing."

"Yes, sir. But I'm convinced you're a civilian. We treat secrets too politely."

"Are the others worse?

"It's natural to rely on money, make it difficult for me to work, make it difficult for me to say things, and most importantly, I don't give a shit about our lives..."

Ren glances at him if he remembers something he doesn't like while he's talking.

Reaching for Ren's head like that, I stroke softly.

"It's okay. Neither I nor Lady Dio are thinking about letting you fight or assassinating anyone. I can't make any promises, but I'll make sure you don't make any sacrifices. Do your best."

"…… treat children, don't do it!

Ren, who was stroking my head, shook my hand off, turns away. Surely it wasn't meant to be a seventeen-year-old girl.

"Sorry. Sorry. You looked a little depressed, so follow me."

"Would you do it to anyone if you were depressed............?

"No way. I'm not gonna be the one you don't seem to need."

"You don't even need me!

"I get it. Remember."

When we had such a conversation, we even came close to the children we were playing with. At the center of it was a girl sweating her blonde hair to the point where she hung it on her shoulder.

She would be Nicolas Riole. Indeed, with drooping eyes, the larger eyes give the seer a weak impression. His body is thin, and he doesn't look like a knight at all. Either the maids or the caregivers of the kids I'm working on seem better suited.

Nicola's light brown eyes capture me. You don't realize I'm a member of the Royal Castle because I'm inclined to the neck.

"Guys! Can you play with this kid, not just with that sister?

"Hey!? Did you bring him here for this!?

I need to pull the kids off while I'm talking to Nicola. Then we need bait. The perfect bait for a child hungry for play is a playmate.

Was it just when Nicola snapped? The kids come over to Ren. Ren lets her face pull away, but is it fun, dozens of kids all started chasing Ren.

"Kids use strength, don't they? Are you okay, sir?

"Huh? Ah, yes. I'm still a knight…… you won't see………"

"Yes. It doesn't look very much like that"

Smiling, Nicola started to get startled and depressed. Though I don't think you need to be depressed.

Nicola's status is high from the first half of eighty to the second half, except for her fighting power. I also have just ninety intelligences. Instead, you can't rely on sixty units for combat, but if you think of yourself as someone who gives instructions without fighting like me, don't be pessimistic. Though I get out of the way and get hit a lot.

"I really think it's easier and better for me to be playing with my kids...... My father put me in the army and I became captain of the Knights. But I, I can't be trusted by my people because I'm weak, and I'm scared, so I'll be right behind you..."

"Is it hard to stay in the army?

"My father... he put me in the army with the meaning of keeping me away from my predecessor, who was in the capital of the king. But there are no more forefathers, and my father is dead, so I should quit already......!? I don't know what I'm talking about to the first person I met! Excuse me........."

Seeing Nicolas panicking all by herself, I smile. I guess the reason she couldn't be active was because she wasn't confident in herself and she was in the Black Bird Flag Army horse riding squad. Her flavors cannot be harnessed in the Blackbird Flag Army, which serves as an assault from fast travel. She needs a unit that was in her traits.

"I don't think fear is a bad thing. It's important in battle. That leads us to protect our men."

"What…………?

"This country will change from now on. Troops will be created that will be its flag. It is a unit that moves independently, makes its own decisions, and moves for the good of the country, for the good of the people. What do you think of a unit like that?

"... I don't think we'll make it happen. If you are not so trusted by Your Majesty, you cannot keep such a force. There's conspiracy, and most importantly, this country is moving in a direction that doesn't fight, right?

I couldn't help but laugh at Nicola's answer. This kid has a solid view of where the country is going. Solid and sure. Such an answer represents her character.

Never adventure, never risk, take for granted, fight normally, win normally. She must be like that. Although that presupposes that your troops are stronger than their opponents, if such generals are in their ranks, they can be relieved.

"That's why we create a few elite troops and shrink the army. And give work to those in the army who floated in shrinkage and revitalize the country. We're out of manpower. It's all good, right?

"There's no way it's going that well. By and large, even if everything goes well, who leads that unit? In His Royal Highness Diorud, there is once again a danger of civil unrest. I'm not going to order anyone who doesn't have the credit for civil strife, and the chief requires character and ability."

"Does anyone deserve it?

"… only one person. I wonder if Lord Archrite's Master would be all right. A little, Dear Diorud, but I also hear that His Majesty has a great deal of trust."

That's what Nicola says and returns to me.

He seemed ashamed to speak so seriously.

"I did it again...... I'm sorry, I don't like conversations, but I can't stop talking..."

I'm sure you don't like the catch ball of conversation. But you answered this question, and it won't be a fatal flaw. Rather, it could be an elusive advantage.

"Fine. So? So, if you're an Archrite military teacher, you're okay?

"Uh, ah, yes. Skillfully speaking, I crossed with His Majesty for a few days, and I have the decisiveness to decide to withdraw in circumstances where it is possible to withdraw without being forced. Most importantly, he's a good morale builder, so he might be better suited to commanding a unit that moves in a lonely army."

"Have you seen it?

"I've fought before. Because I was also a force of His Majesty. I told you, it was a backward third army, so I didn't really join the fight..."

"So, what trait did you have?

"Is that a trait? Black hair, black eyes, yes, like you. You spoke a little high and well through. Your voice looks like yours, too. My back length was about you, the atmosphere was unreliable, and yeah, I knew it was like you. I don't feel very strong, but you can't win, can you? You felt like someone who had trouble judging. I didn't see him in person...... is that it?

Nicola takes a serious look at my face. And keep a little distance and look from top to bottom. Maybe he's wearing black clothes and a coat on me in his brain.

I came up with a little flirtatious, so I took the fan out of my nostalgia and pointed it at Nicolas.

"If you think you're right, try shouting your master's name."

When I grinned, Nicola's face turned bright blue in an instant.
