The Rise of the Writers of the Republic of China

Chapter 454 [453] [The first person to have a laparotomy]

"Dad, Dad, look at my paintings!"

Xiao Lingjun, who was almost 3 years old, came running up and down, holding a piece of drawing paper high in his hand.

Meng Xiaodong hurriedly reminded from behind: "Run slowly, don't fall!"

Xiao Lingjun took his mother's words as a deaf ear, and rushed to Zhou Hexuan happily, and said triumphantly: "Father, look at my paintings quickly, Aunt Wanrong and Aunt Cui both praised me."

"Rascal!"

Zhou Hexuan hugged his daughter affectionately, and said with a smile, "Let Dad see what little rascals have drawn."

The father and daughter sat on the bench in the garden, and Xiao Ling pointed to the picture and said, "Look, Dad, this is our building. These are little swallows, and they are making their nests."

Zhou Hexuan only glanced at it, then asked in surprise, "Have you all started to learn Gongbi?"

"Aunt Cui taught me." Xiao Lingjun said.

It is obviously too early for children under 3 years old to learn meticulous painting. But Zhou Hexuan couldn't bear to discourage his daughter's enthusiasm, and praised with a smile: "The painting is really good, you can see that the swallow is so vivid."

Xiaoling pursed his lips and said, "That's a butterfly, flying among the flowers. Dad is so stupid, he can't even tell the difference between a butterfly and a swallow!"

"Oh, so it's a butterfly, haha, haha," Zhou Hexuan laughed awkwardly, "The butterfly is also well drawn, as beautiful as a swallow."

Xiao Lingjun smiled and said, "Aunt Cui also said the same."

The meticulous painting has been turned into an abstract painting, Xiao Lingjun's artistic talent is really strong enough, Zhou Hexuan just wants to laugh when he sees it.

Holding back his smile, Zhou Hexuan asked, "Can you recite the poem I taught you the day before yesterday?"

Xiaoling nodded repeatedly, and immediately began to recite: "Goose, goose, song to the sky. White hair floats in green water, red palm touches the clear waves."

"Ling Jun is really smart, what reward do you want?" Zhou Hexuan said happily.

"Hmm..." Xiao Lingjun rolled his eyes and said suddenly, "I want to eat candied haws!"

Zhou Hexuan smiled and said, "Change it to another one, children can't eat too many sweet things."

"No, no, I want to eat candy piles!" Xiao Lingjun began to play tricks, pulling Zhou Hexuan's collar and shaking it back and forth, teardrops fell as soon as he said it.

Zhou Hexuan was so confused that he had no choice but to tell his servant, "Xiao Lan, hurry up and buy bunches of candied haws."

Meng Xiaodong, who was next to her, heard this, and immediately scolded: "This girl is spoiled by you, she is crazy all day long."

Xiao Lingjun launched another offensive of tears, crying in Zhou Hexuan's arms: "Mom doesn't like me anymore, mother doesn't want me to eat candies."

"Ha ha ha ha!"

Zhou Hexuan laughed out loud, while Meng Xiaodong rolled his eyes helplessly.

Xiao Lingjun is the living ancestor of the family. Everyone likes him when he is clever and cute, but when he is mischievous, he turns into a brat every minute. Just a few days ago, Zhou Hexuan's collection of ancient books from the Ming Dynasty was torn up by this girl to make origami airplanes. Who knows how she got the key to open the bookcase.

Don't worry, son!

Zhou Hexuan carried Xiao Lingjun back to the living room, Zhang Leyi was teaching Xiao Weilie to count, and the child under two years old could already count to 100. It's a pity that the numbers after 100 can't be taught no matter how they are taught, and they are forgotten after counting.

"101, 101..." Xiao Weilie looked at her mother stupidly.

Xiao Lingjun leaned over to his younger brother, stroked his cheek with his fingers and said shyly, "My younger brother is so stupid. If you pass 101, it becomes 102. I learned it a long time ago."

"Hehehe." Xiao Weilie looked at her sister with a smirk, and her appearance became more and more like a dementia.

The maid Xiaolan soon came back with candied haws and said to Zhou Hexuan, "Sir, when I came back, I happened to meet someone who came to visit. He said his surname was Xu, and he was standing at the door of the house. Would you like to come in?"

"Please invite him to the reception room." Zhou Hexuan said.

The visitor was about 40 years old, with a long horse face, wearing a washed white gown, at first glance he looked like an old school intellectual. He clasped his fists and said: "I continue Fan Ting, I have admired Mr. Zhou's name for a long time, and I am here to ask for advice!"

"It turns out to be General Xu, please sit down!" Zhou Hexuan immediately became respectful, which was respect for a patriotic general.

Xu Fan Ting followed Sun Yat-sen in the revolution in his early years and was born in the Tongmenghui. Later, he defected to Feng Yuxiang and served as the principal of the Military and Political School of the National Army. The grassroots officers of the Northwest Army in recent years have all been students of Xu Fanting.

The first time Zhou Hexuan learned about Xu Fanting was when he was visiting the West Lake in Hangzhou. There is a Fragrant Mountain Cave in Qixia Mountain Villa, and the four characters "All this report" are engraved on the wall in the cave, which was left by Xu Fanting after he followed Yang Hucheng before the Anti-Japanese War.

Continuing Fan Ting's more famous deed is the poem he wrote.

It was in 1935. Xu Fanting heard that the Fifth National Congress of the Nationalist Party was going to discuss the issue of anti-Japanese war, so he rushed from Lanzhou to Nanjing and asked to meet with Chang Kaishen many times to tell about his anti-Japanese plans.

At that time, the Minguo Hotel was full of officials in meetings, and at night, there were people playing mahjong and setting up banquets everywhere, but Xu Fanting's room was deserted. He attended gatherings of friends during the day, and every time he brought up the national crisis and the issue of anti-Japanese war, he was prevaricated by his friends by persuading him to drink. During the period, I also met Wang Zhaoming, the Premier of the Executive Council. As a result, Wang Zhaoming didn't listen to him, so he replied lightly, "The matter is not as serious as imagined", and walked away with excuses.

The more Xu Fanting thought about it in the guest room, the more sad and indignant he became, and the sounds of rubbing mahjong and punching came from the next door. Thinking of the time when the country was in crisis, these high-ranking officials only knew how to drink and have fun, his heart ached even more, and he ran to Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in the middle of the night to cry bitterly, and then committed suicide by cutting open his stomach.

When the staff of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum found out, Xu Fanting had already collapsed in a pool of blood, and there were still five desperate poems in his pocket, one of which wrote: "Let's go naked, what can my husband ask for in this world? Steal Fearing that the spirit of the people will be destroyed, I wish to free my body."

Fortunately, the staff found it in time, and Xu Fanting saved his life. This matter caused a lot of trouble at the time, and once again set off calls for a war of resistance throughout the country. In order to ease public opinion, the Nanjing government quietly sent Xu Fanting to West Lake to recuperate.

Xu Fan Ting's injury was not healed, so he followed Yang Hucheng and left a wall engraving in the West Lake saying "Repay this", he was planning to fight against Japan with Yang Hucheng.

After the July 7th Incident broke out, Xu Fanting cooperated with our party to create the Shanxi New Army and secretly joined the Communist Party. When he served as the commander-in-chief of the new army in Northwest Shanxi, in just over a month, he commanded more than 100 battles, annihilated more than 3,000 puppet troops, and seized more than 350 guns. When the Japanese invaded Taiyuan, Yan Xishan ran away with his troops, and Xu Fanting encouraged Fu Zuoyi to stick to Taiyuan, slowing down the Japanese invasion of Shanxi.

It is a pity that Xu Fan Ting left the root cause of his illness when he committed suicide, and he fell ill in 1940 due to long-term overwork. He failed to continue to kill the enemy during the War of Resistance.

Fan Ting was imprisoned in the south by Chang Kaishen after the Great War in the Central Plains. This time he suddenly returned to the north, probably to join Yang Hucheng and train the army in Lanzhou to fight against Japan.
