The Queen's Cosmetician

Chapter VII Contacting Physicians 2

The face I haven't seen in a long time. Die called the name of the breathless man.

"Lo, Rowen?

"Good...... I knew it was a die"

Dark-haired, dark-eyed, man in the face of the people of the Eastern Continent. I'm a doctor in the backtown with many patients in the flower district.

The man, who raised and lowered his shoulders greatly to exhale, stroked his chest down with that hand that freed the die.

"What? Do you know him?"

"I'm a friend. I know Miguel, too, and it's called Rowen. Rowen, this is Alvina."

"Hello"

"Yep. Nice to meet you."

To Alvina, smiling and greeting, he fixed his smile.

"Excuse me. I don't have much time..."

That said, Rowen wipes the sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand. When he looks like him, he sweats as if he had even bathed in the water. Breathing is rough, too.

"What's wrong with you? It's like I've been running around the city."

"You're right, they're running around."

Rowen smiled bitterly as he pulled off his clothes sticking to his skin. Bring the cool wind to your skin while you breathe. Die blinked at the sound of a zero plea from his mouth that placed him slightly and corrected his residence.

"... Die, I need a favor. Ready?"

"Fine..."

loosened his eyes to a soothing look, he said.

"Probably coming soon from the Gertrude family to the Mizwieri... you will be asked for makeup. I want you to take it on."

Unexpectedly, I'm out of line.

"............ what?

I was also surprised that very naturally the name of the senior aristocrat came out of the mouth of Rowen, a doctor in the back town. But more than that, I'm baffled that he knows his new place of work. Asma hasn't divulged the situation to everyone in the flower district. Those who know that the die works in the Mizwieri family should not exist except for her.

"What's up?"

"Please."

Die's inquiry was quashed by a man's plea. He gives a look like what drowns in straw, and Rowen grabs Die's shoulder again. A man's finger eating in. The gripping bone raises the crease.

His hands left the die faster than he complained of pain.

"Rowen!"

To that voice that abruptly interrupts, the person called upon turns to face up. I asked him, and he slapped Die on the shoulder, and he ran out again.

The doctor's back disappears in clutter.

"Rowen! Wait! Wait for me!

Chasing Rowen, the Lord of the Voice reveals himself. I don't recognize him. Short-cut sandy hair, inert beard covering the area around the jaw. He passed with a sharp glance at the die and buried it in a crowd of men.

Alvina speaks for herself by the side in the heart of the die, bewildered by the events in no time.

"... I wonder what it was"

When I arrived at Miguel's shop feeling unexplained, I had a client.

The man Miguel responds to groans at the same time with his eyes on the die.

"Ah."

Alvina, with a glimmer of face from behind her, also held her mouth down and raised her voice of surprise.

"Oh. You just did."

The forerunner is that sand-haired man who was chasing Rowen.

The year is around thirty roads. The eye color is gray and the skin is often reddish brown that burns in the day. He was a man with a big body who thought he was from another continent and had a look.

The man shows his white teeth in a grin.

"Sorry about earlier, kid. Look at me."

"No, because I don't care."

Die proceeded inside the store and lined up with a man, looking up at Miguel.

"I hear you slept."

"Really, I'm just thinking about closing the store at night and opening it in the morning."

The tired looking shopkeeper pokes his cheek cane at the table and sighs grandly. He's so exhausted that he doesn't have the energy to say hello to this one and Alvina.

"Why were you chasing Rowen earlier?

The man answered Die's question instantly.

He ran away in the middle of a conversation.

"Discuss?"

"With my employer. I didn't even want to go after him with the bastard, but he's not fit."

"I'm sorry you're not fit."

A grumpy man's voice interrupts the conversation.

Somewhere familiar voice, but not sure. Die turned his face in the direction of his voice as he tilted his neck.

Behind Miguel, with a wet cloth in his hand from behind the store, a boy appears.

"I don't mean it either."

To the boy with the bitter look on his face, the man hung the corner of his mouth.

"Were you tough to grow up with, Bo?"

"You're telling me to stop calling you Bo!?

"... Um?

I can't see a word.

Alvina pinched her mouth from behind the bewildering die.

"Oh, there she is. Mr. Rowen's family just now?

"Huh?"

To Alvina's point, Die observed the boy again. Mid-teens at first glance. Dark-haired, dark-eyed, faced the people of the eastern continent - certainly, if you ask me, very similar to Rowen.

"Very well."

A gray-eyed man puts his hand on his hips and raises an exclamation.

"I'm good at remembering people's faces."

Alvina laughs and says so, but I guess it's the inherent magic, not the face, that she actually used to discern.

"I'll introduce you, Die, Alvina"

Miguel pointed out two unfamiliar men with his empty hands as he poked his cheek cane.

"A big man over there is Dadan. And that's Rowen's brother, Kite."

A grey-eyed man raises his hand lightly, and a boy introduced as Rowen's brother, meets small.

Miguel went on to point his finger at this one.

"Dadan, kite. That's Alvina. That's the die. Both of us, our guests"

Introduced, Die lowered his head with a pepper.

"So, why were you chasing Rowen?

I ask myself in retrospect about how I look stuffed with cuts. I'm also curious about the 'request' left by Rowen, but it would be more prerequisite to know his situation first.

"In the first place, I've never known Rowen to have a brother"

It's been five years since he started staying in this city just after Die's mother died. I've never heard a family story from him in the meantime.

"We don't ask each other about our neighborhood. Promise. Hey. It's the first time Kite's been here."

"... did you come from the Eastern Continent?

"Yes."

Kite nodded lightly, and Die flashed. It really seems that he came all the way from the eastern continent to the edge of this western continent looking for his brother.

Guests from the eastern continent also come to Hanayashi. Most of them are merchants from Majaenna, also west of his continent. Even they, who are accustomed to traveling, say they are closed to the length of the distance they separate.

"What the hell are you doing with him?

You mean you've crossed such a distance?

To Die's inquiry, Kite gave him a strange look.

"I'm here to bring you back."

"... Rowen?

"Yes, my brother."

"... to which?

"It's our house! My parents and sister are waiting for me, my brother's home!

In excitement he grips his fist and claims.

"Maybe, runaway, was it?

I thought you were an unfamiliar vagrant, but that doctor guy apparently had a decent family.

"Uh, let me explain."

Between myself and Kate, Dadan broke in, scratching his head all over.

"This little brother I love is going to be too emotional and misleading"

"You didn't lie about anything!

"Yes, yes, shut up."

Gu, and hold Kate's head down, Dadan gently coughs.

"Boy...... name, is that a die? You know Rowen? I think we were talking all over town earlier."

I'm a friend.

An acquaintance, so I'm close to getting cleaned up.

"I haven't seen a lot of faces lately."

"What about you?

"I'm irrelevant. You can think of me as passing by."

"Okay."

The man who grasped the situation let him snort one and cut out the story.

"I was introduced earlier, but let me name it myself. I'm hired by this kite as an escort."

"The Conductor?

"You're an escort from the Eastern Continent to Del Ligueiria. But there was a lot going on along the way, and I was supposed to find this guy's brother instead. It was another dream for this guy growing up to find his brother on his own. I'm lost in the streets, but I'm falling."

"Annoying!"

Kate screams as she struggles to get rid of Dadan's hand somehow. Die felt sincere sympathy for the boy, who was perfectly attached.

"Your brother is your... growing up, of course, Mr. Rowen?

To Alvina's guess, Dadan showed affirmation.

"Ah. Kite's house is a nobleman's house, albeit inferior, in the countries of the eastern continent. Rowen hits his firstborn there."

"... Kiki, was that you? Rowen."

"I'm surprised."

Ha, and Miguel groaned with a zero sigh.

"Really, I don't know what a trait you know. I thought it was strangely soft, but that came from how I grew up."

"... nobility doesn't make you that good to grow up with. It's been five or six years since my life was easier."

I finally escaped Dadan's hand and moaned low as Kate advanced forward.

"Our country has been confused for a long time. Lower aristocracy is just a name. I was a literary clan, not a martial arts officer, even less so... His Majesty the Emperor has been replaced, after ten years, finally. What made us a shameless life in the name of nobility?"

"And as Kate said, this country is quite famous for its strengths. There have been remarkable developments in recent years, but there has always been a strange state of affairs whenever I fell. As much as I wanted to keep my mouth shut with all the people I saw, it was a country of sorts."

Separating the words once, Dadan put a rolled cigarette out of his nose in his mouth.

"Rowen left the house to help the house rather than bitter about the situation. He told doctors from other countries he knew, he made money while learning outside the country, and he sent supplies home."

"But I'm here to tell you that I don't need to do that anymore. The country's settled, and my father and mother are waiting for my brother. So let's go home.... Yet."

"You don't want to go home, did Mr. Rowen run away?

To Alvina's inquiry, Dadan and Kate nodded all together.

Says Dadan as he transfers the fire to the cigarette and gently waves the phosphorus inch.

"Glad you could make it. I'll be home someday. But I can't go home yet.... Rowen's unsweetened attitude made this short-tempered boy bite."

"He bit me! Make people like dogs!

"'Cause you do, don't you? I thought Rowen got away with it because of you. Be a little more calm when you're twenty."

"... are you twenty years old?

"... what the heck. What's wrong with that?

Staring at Kite, Die shook his head left and right violently. I can't say very well that I expected it to be about the same age as myself.

Dadan laughs lavishly next to him, reminiscent of a threatening dog.

"Ha ha, ma, all the ones on the eastern continent are child-faced!

"That kind of die is fifteen too."

Dadan and Kate look back at Miguel with a cross spear that looks interesting at the same time. They aligned their voices perfectly breathing.

"You're lying!?

It's not the reaction I expected.

You've got to be kidding me. Alvina stroked the head of the die, looking at the men who secretly converse with him, and so on, without even feeling like sighing.

"Die is a proper adult."

"Alvey, you can say it while you stroke your head, but it's not convincing at all"

"I'm pretty sure you look calmer than this kid."

I wish Dadan could, but stir up Kite even more.

"So don't kid. Don't kid!

"That's why."

They made fun of Kite all the way through and were satisfied. Dadan laughed as he smoked.

"We've been in trouble here for a while, so Rowen won't show his face over here for the time being. But before you, you might show up.... just like that."

To the man who said so and narrowed his grey eyes, Die popped his back and retracted reflexively. I wasn't stared at or intimidated.

I just remembered the sharp glance of a man, seen all over the city.

"I took him with me, too, and he turned all the way back here. Just skip kite. Let me talk to you for a second. Just do it and tell him."

Spitting purple smoke in a circle, the informant man showed a nostalgic white tooth.

"If you see him, just do it."

Purchase what was missing from Miguel's store and break up with Alvina. I'll see you soon, and even while I waved at her laughing, Die was distracted.

One request, no, prophecy left by the doctor kept going around Die's head forever.

"The Gertrude family will ask for makeup."

How does Rowen know that? In the first place, how did you know that Die was a makeup artist for the Mizwilli family?

It is refreshing to my friend what the hell is going on.

The only obvious thing was that apparently I was about to get caught up in it. I have a bad feeling about it.

I go home to the Mizwieri with a good mood. Tsuji exits the carriage, through the general gate, through a wide backyard, and enters the annex.

Finishing her vacation in a dark mood, Die was drawn to one of the maids as she walked to her room.

"Die."

"Oh, Meribel, I'm home"

"Yep..."

She responded vaguely to Die's greeting and ran over in a terribly restless manner.

"It's hard to get back early, but get dressed and go to the reception room right away. As soon as possible."

"... what's wrong with you?

No way, my colleague tells a die who disguises himself as calm by dispelling a hunch past the back of his brain that he is magically important.

"The Gertrude family is coming for you. He wants me to wear makeup."

I was stunned that Rowen's prophecy hit me, and Die accidentally wanted to fall on the spot.
