The Life of a Gangster That Started In a Gun Shop

Chapter 128: M 1911 Reasons for Domination of IPSC

After having a Chinese feast at noon, everyone returned to their workstations with no end in sight. Only five apprentices who successfully graduated from Mercer and one O'Hafa who joined in the fun followed Ye Qing into the studio.

In the more than a month that Ye Qing was away, Sig Sauer sent a total of three orders.

Ye Qing planned to take this opportunity and let these apprentices observe the specific operation process. Although they won't touch this part so soon, that's a matter of time, isn't it?

O'Hafa persisted for an hour, and after she was really bored, she slipped away quietly. Ye Qing, who was facing the door, naturally saw O'Hafa's small movements, but he didn't break it either.

Because of the apprenticeship, Ye Qing had to slow down. When the production progresses to some key steps, it needs to be explained in detail.

It took a day and a half for Ye Qing to process the three backlog orders. After arranging for Harris to arrange the delivery, and taking some out of the "dragon"-themed order to these apprentices for production, Ye Qing had finally dealt with the backlog in the store.

Oh, right. And a new contract from Smith for 3,000 ceramic pistols.

With a slap on the forehead, remembering this almost forgotten incident, Ye Qing quickly went downstairs, found out the contract and faxed it to the other party after signing the contract.

I got the exact domestic information, so I don't worry that this ceramic pistol will bring big trouble to the country. Ye Qing signed this contract now, and there was no psychological pressure at all. Instead, he was extremely happy that Smith rushed to give him money.

3,000 ceramic pistols, with a total order value of 12 million. Throwing out the cost, I will make a net profit of at least 7 million. It is really not open for three years, and it will be open for three years.

After dealing with the trivial matters, Ye Qing also began to prepare to create a partner who would follow him to the IPSC in the future.

As mentioned earlier, when it comes to the performance of a pistol, two things must be considered. The barrel, the ammunition, this is the core part.

Ye Qing didn't plan to touch these two parts at the beginning.

The biggest difference between gun performance modification and appearance modification is that one is for use and the other is for viewing. Since it is to come in handy, it must be tested repeatedly.

Before changing the core position, Ye Qing first started to replace the shape and parts of the gun.

The choice of gun type is very simple, M1911! It's this product again, but there is no gun that is more suitable for the IPSC arena than it.

The first is its triple insurance design, which was mentioned earlier. The most important point of IPSC competition is safety, there is no doubt that no pistol can be more safe than its triple safety.

Secondly, the straight-pull single-action trigger of 1911 not only has a short trigger stroke. It has another benefit!

The paper target in the IPSC competition requires at least two hits, and then considers the rules for including time in the evaluation. Shooters have to find a way to complete two or more shots in rapid succession in the shortest time.

As we all know, when a pistol is fired, the muzzle will rise, which can only be reduced but unavoidable. In addition to the fact that pistols are unsupported shooting compared to rifle shooting, and the handling is more difficult, this also has a lot to do with its structure.

The barrel of the pistol is always above the shooter's hand, which cannot be changed. And because of the lever principle, the lever force that makes the barrel rise each time it is fired cannot be controlled at all by human muscle strength.

Likewise, the greater the relative distance of the barrel from the gripper, the higher the muzzle rise will be, and the longer it will take for the barrel to reset and realign to the target.

This is the second reason why the M1911 has the advantage!

The structure of the straight-pull single-action trigger is very simple, so that it does not take up much space in the gun body at all. This leaves room for the barrel. Makes the axis of the barrel very low, and the muzzle rise will recover quickly.

Many IPSC shooters fire two shots in a row when shooting close range targets. The bullets can hit the A area, which can save a lot of time in the middle.

And this is also the reason why Glock can dominate the IPSC and IPDA factory gun groups. In modern pistols, the Glock is also representative of the low barrel axis. Some famous guns of the same type, such as Sig Sauer's P226, were abandoned by the arena because of the complicated firing mechanism, which resulted in the barrel axis being too high.

In addition to the above two points, the M1911 pistol has another advantage. That is its barrel length.

The barrel length of a gun is often positively correlated with the ballistic stability and linearity of the sub-rejection. Although guns have been developed for hundreds of years, people are no longer blindly pursuing long barrels.

But the accuracy advantage brought by a longer barrel is undeniable.

Compared with the Glock 17 and CZ75, which are also the darlings of the IPSC arena, the barrel length of the M1911 base is 5 inches, or 12.7 cm. The Glock 17 and CZ75 are both 11.8 cm.

There is a gap of almost one centimeter in the middle, and the P226 mentioned above is only 11.2 centimeters.

Perhaps this is also the reason why it was abandoned by the IPSC arena?

The longer barrel makes this pistol, which can also effectively deal with some special scene requirements. For example, in some fourth- and fifth-level competitions, there may suddenly be a target position of more than 25m, and even one-handed shooting is required.

After wanting to understand the choice of gun type, Ye Qing began to struggle with the next question.

The caliber of the M1911 pistol is not .45acp. Long before Mr. Browning died, he tinkered with something called the Browning High Power Pistol.

This thing is the 9mm bullet version of the M1911. The M1911 is also available in .38Super and .40S&W versions.

However, the two bullet versions, .45ACP and .40S&W, were the first to be excluded by Ye Qing. The reason is very simple, it is not necessary.

According to the PF requirements of IPSC, the 230-grain warhead of the .45ACP bullet is undoubtedly the Major group, and the 9mm bullet of the 115-grain bullet is the Minor group. The difference between the scores of the two groups has also been mentioned above.

But here comes the problem~www.wuxiaspot.com~ Based on the .380ACP pistol ammunition, the .38Super bullet evolved from increasing the charge and increasing the loading density.

The lead core and brass quilt warhead it uses weighs about 8.42g, which is 130 grains. Coupled with the increase in the muzzle velocity brought about by the increase in the charge, the original 320m/s of the .380ACP bullet has been increased to 390m/s.

According to the calculation formula of PF, we first convert 390m/s into feet, which is 1279.52 feet per second. Divide the PF value of 166.3 by dividing the 166337.6 obtained by multiplying the bullet's muzzle velocity of 1297.52 by the bullet weight of 130 grains by 1000.

In other words, the .38Super bullet fully meets the Major firepower requirements of the IPSC Open Group. Even in order to pursue the ultimate, Ye Qing had to try to reduce its initial speed with a small amount of gunpowder.

After weighing the .38Super bullet and the 9mmLuger bullet for a long time, Ye Qing still chose the .38Super bullet that is closest to the PF requirement index line.

Moreover, although the recoil of the Major group will be larger, the corresponding scoring advantage is also very obvious.
