The Legend of Harry Potter Schoolmaster

Chapter 116 Sorting Ceremony (First Update)

This may have been the hardest train ride Jon has ever had.

Neither the ugly Auror Alastor Moody nor the Death Eater Barty Crouch Jr were friendly traveling companions.

The two girls didn't dare to say a word throughout the trip, even though Moody never looked at them.

Jon didn't have much to say either, except that the trip was rather boring...Mad-Eye Moody's normal eyes were closed and he seemed to be in a deep sleep; the magic eye kept wandering around.

The train kept going north, and the rain was getting heavier and heavier.

The sky was dark and the windows were covered with moisture, so the lanterns were lit in broad daylight.

Jon took out a copy of "Standard Spells, Level 3" and looked at it there.

Astoria took out the needle and thread and seemed to be knitting something... Natalie was already leaning on her shoulder and fell asleep.

...

The Hogwarts Express finally slowed down and stopped at the dark Hogsmeade station.

The door opened, and there was a rumble of thunder in the air.

"I have to observe the terrain near Hogwarts!" Mad-Eye Moody glanced out the window and said solemnly: "There may be a dark wizard lying around and attacking the school at any time!"

It's really like... Watching Moody's far away back, Jon couldn't help but complain in his heart.

Astoria woke Natalie, who was still asleep, and they got out of the car!

The rain was fast and violent, as if buckets of ice-cold water kept pouring on their heads... They bowed their heads and squinted in the pouring rain, and walked out...

"First-year students, come this way!" Hagrid's loud voice could be heard in the distance, holding up his dirty, pink umbrella.

"You should go over there!" Jon pointed to Hagrid's direction and said to Natalie, "Have you seen the teacher, you have to enter the school with him."

Natalie nodded confusedly, and she walked over to Hagrid.

"That's right, little girl, just get behind me..." Hagrid could be heard shouting from there.

"Oh, I can't imagine crossing the lake in such weather," said Astoria, shuddering as she bent down.

They moved little by little with the flow of people, walking across the dark platform.

Finally, they saw the one hundred familiar carriages... They got into one of the carriages, and soon two unfamiliar senior students crowded up.

The door slammed shut; a moment later, with a violent jolt, the long wagon train reeled down the path leading to Hogwarts Castle, splashing and splashing all the way.

...

A few minutes later, their carriage stopped under the stone steps in front of the two oak gates.

"What? You mean, a long-awaited great event, this semester will reopen?" Jon said with a look of surprise.

"Yeah, I just wanted to tell you when I was on the train..." Astoria blinked: "It's a pity that Professor Moody is there, I don't dare to say more... It's true, Jon, My mother told me; Hogwarts is going to be a lot of fun this year, and she might come back to see it!"

As they spoke, they quickly passed through the stone steps, and at the same time they were almost drenched in the rain.

"Children, come this way!" Professor Flitwick was waiting for them at the castle gate.

When every student entered the castle, he would wave his wand and drenched the students in the rain.

Walking through the foyer, they entered the auditorium.

The auditorium was still as splendid as it was, and it was specially decorated for Xinxuesi's banquet.

Hundreds of candles floated above the table, illuminating the gold saucers and goblets gleaming.

"Goodbye, we'll talk during Potions!" Astoria waved at him, then walked over to the Slytherin long table.

...

It's so much warmer in here!

Jon came to Hufflepuff's long table, and his classmates came in from outside.

"Good evening, Jon!" A ghost flew to his side and greeted him gently.

It's a short, fat ghost dressed as a monk, the "Fat Friar" of the Hufflepuffs!

"Hello, monk!" Jon smiled and bowed to it.

"I persuaded them to allow Peeves to attend the banquet again, but it failed again!" The fat monk said a little uncomfortable, sighed, and then his expression changed: "I really hope they will be sorted soon, I can't wait. It's gone!"

"Jon!" A familiar voice came from behind.

Zacharias-Smith ran over, he sat beside Jon, and asked with concern, "Did Professor Snape treat you badly during the summer vacation?"

Only then did Jon remember that on the day he met Snape in Diagon Alley during the summer vacation, Zacharis ran away rudely.

"Am I too afraid of Professor Snape... Seeing that he dragged you to the corner, he ran away..." Zacharis sneered.

"It's nothing, just threw me a fuel oil bottle!" Jon shook his head helplessly.

More and more students came to the hall. As the students arrived, Professor McGonagall led a long row of first-year students to the front of the auditorium.

The first-years were soaking wet, and Jon searched for a long time to find Natalie; Professor Flitwick strode over, waving his staff at them, tossing their clothes and hair. Dry.

Meanwhile, Professor McGonagall placed a three-legged stool on the ground in front of the freshman, and on the stool a tattered, dirty, patched wizard hat.

Then a slit near the brim opened like a mouth, and the hat suddenly sang:

"That was over a thousand years ago, and I was just woven into shape..."

...

As the Sorting Hat ended, thunderous applause broke out in the auditorium.

Professor McGonagall unfolded a large roll of parchment.

"When I call someone's name, they put the hat on their head and sit on the stool!" she told the first-year students. "When the hat announces the college, go and sit at the appropriate table."

"Stuart Ackley!"

A boy stepped forward and could be seen shaking from head to toe. He picked up the sorting hat, put it on his head, and sat on the stool.

"Ravenclaw!" shouted the Sorting Hat.

There was thunderous applause from Ravenclaw's long table.

...

"Malcolm Bardock!"

"Slytherin!"

...

"Eleanor Branstone!"

"Hufflepuffs!"

...

Many Hufflepuff students stood up to welcome the new student.

One after another, freshmen were assigned to various colleges.

Only half of them are left until...

"Natalie Pavlova!" shouted Professor McGonagall.

Natalie walked over nervously, sat on the stool, and put on her hat.
