15 – Auction House (2)

Just before the terror breaks out.

Sena and Eve hesitating at the price that I quoted.

By the way, Jane, who was working as my maid, had long gone.

‘Yes! Let’s keep going like this!’

At the very moment I harbored hope inwardly.

-Kwaaah!

A loud noise as if to shatter hope rang in my ears.

If it’s ringing so loudly, it probably happened nearby.

And sure enough, what else would it be?

“Guild Master!”

A staff member with a slightly flustered face runs towards Walker.

It seems the army of the Devil King launched a terror attack.

‘No, why is this happening now!’

-Wasn’t this what the master wanted?

According to Juschangi, the master was initially hoping for the Demon King’s army to instigate a terror strike.

While they’re causing a riot, I could just sneak off and steal something.

However, that was before the necklace of subjugation was presented!

Even if the elixir is secondary, wouldn’t one want to acquire the necklace of subjugation right away?

I suppose so.

“Dear guests, we apologize for the inconvenience. We will halt the auction for now and prioritize your evacuation.”

It’s a no-brainer that all the auction items would be returned to their original places.

It’s evident that I’m not getting my hands on it right now.

From Noble mtl dot com

‘I might steal it while they’re terrorizing!’

-Ah-ha!

Juschangi, who finally understood my point.

It’s not the time for this though.

It’d be reasonable to slip away while the surrounding is in chaos.

‘Let’s steal it first and worry later!’

Thinking so, I invisibly slipped away towards the warehouse with my cloak of invisibility.

At the same moment.

Windy, who instigated the terror at the auction, took a moment to survey her surroundings.

‘Hm. It seems like it’s going well.’

The members of the Shadow Guild hastily moving about.

They must be struggling with her Devil subordinates.

“The likelihood of receiving aid from the royal elite soldiers is likely slim,” he reasoned. Weren’t they currently holding off the forces of the Demon King on the front lines? So unless some unforeseen circumstance occurred, there should be no chance of mission failure. With his thoughts organized, Windy started to speak.

“Darling.”

She cozied up to an accompanying noble, looping her arm through his. The poor fellow, oblivious to the fact that she was a succubus, grinned awkwardly.

“Hm. What is it?”

“Can you come with me over there for a moment?”

She pointed to an empty room. Under normal circumstances, he would have agreed immediately. However,

“Well… it seems like a too dangerous situation.”

Perhaps due to the terrorist threat, he seemed more hesitant than usual. However, for a succubus, luring an ordinary person is as easy as pie. She pressed her ample chest into his body and whispered in his ear,

“I just really want to be with you right now♥ Won’t the staff here sort everything out?”

“Ehhh……”

In normal circumstances, it is common to reject such blatant advances, but it is not easy to shake off the temptation of a succubus. And as expected,

“Alright.”

He agreed to her proposition. The two quietly went into the room. Shortly after,

“Haa…”

Windy emerged from the room, her skin glowing and a bright expression on her face.

She murmured with an ecstatic expression.

“It feels like I am alive once again after having some blood after so long.”

With those words, she headed towards the warehouse to carry out the Demon King’s mission.

***

Meanwhile, at the same time.

Like Windy and Elik, there were three others heading to the warehouse.

That was none other than the characters.

‘We need to move right now.’

‘Where is the professor?’

‘If we don’t hurry, a terror attack will take place soon.’

It was Yanderein Eve, Sena, and Jane.

Following after the Walker, the three quietly escaping in tune with the nobles.

As they were contemplating how to escape,

“Guild Master!”

Another employee came out of breath.

Judging from his wounds and cold sweats, it seems like the resistance is stronger than expected.

Sena, seeing this, opened her mouth.

“Mr. Walker.”

“Hmm? Yes. Customer no. 42.”

Upon hearing her call, Walker turned his head.

Soon after, Sena went straight to the point.

“From the looks of it, it seems like you are having a hard time resisting. Shall I assist you?”

“……”

Walker, deep in thought upon hearing Sena’s proposal.

Naturally, he should refuse.

After all, a Walker places the utmost importance on the credibility and safety of the customer.

But.

“‘Is there no other choice?’ The issue was that the terrorist was stronger than expected, making it impossible to subdue him. At this point, we were being forced to clutch at straws. Walker, having made a snap decision, nodded his head. ‘Yes. If you are guest number 42, you will be a great help. We would sincerely appreciate your assistance.’ ‘Me too! I will help!’ ‘I will as well.’ Then, Eve and Jane also said they would help. Feeling moved at the sheer willingness of the guests, whose identities he knew, Walker was unexpectedly emotional. Such pure goodwill was something he hadn’t experienced while living in the shadows. ‘Thank you.’ Thus he bowed his head in gratitude to the three people. Little did he know, they were there to steal something! *** While surreptitiously moving about, ‘There’s a human here!’ A demon suddenly appeared out of nowhere. He wished he could stay under his invisibility cloak, but it needed to be saved for the escape. ‘Is this your first time seeing a human, you bastard!’ He dealt a righteous blow to the demon who had rudely gesticulated at him. ‘Keuk..’ The demon, making a strange sound, passed out on the spot. One hit was apparently enough for these low-ranking demons. Just as he was carefully attempting to move again, ‘Over here!’ ‘This damn rat!'”

It seemed that the fiends had heard the voice of the one who had collapsed before me, as they started to gather like ants. I didn’t want to waste my energy in this place, but I didn’t have a choice.

“Jukchang, let’s put in some work. It’s been a while.”

I pulled out my hidden technique. At my command, Jukchang began to tremble. In the next moment:

“Woaaah!”

Jukchang shined brightly and then-

“Let’s rock and roll!”

Out pops a dignified little girl with blue hair. She looked cute no matter who you asked. Besides me, anyone would most likely approach Jukchang, attracted by her cuteness. Sure enough:

“What’s this? She’s super cute!”

One fiend approached the little girl, laughing foolishly without knowing her true identity. Jukchang, to the advancing fiend:

“Jukchang punch!”

She delivered a tiny punch. The fiend, thinking it was adorable, attempted to block it with his hand. Simultaneously:

“Heeheeheeheeheehee!!”

The fiend, as if struck by electricity, trembled violently before passing out with his eyes rolled up. Seeing this, the remaining fiends’ shoulders immediately shrank. They must have realized that Jukchang was not an ordinary opponent.

“Jukchang, clear a path.”

“Got it master! Just believe in me!”

And with those words, Jukchang began to move forward slowly.

Suddenly, a demon manifests its magic.

There is no room to dodge in the narrow passage.

However.

“Ha!”

Magic is useless against a spear.

Is that all?

“Haaah!”

It’s rather a means for retaliation.

The female demon who used magic fell, her face flushed, letting out a pained moan.

“I won’t go easy just because you’re young!”

Then, a demon swings down a massive sword at the spear bearer.

The sight of a huge demon’s sword heading towards a young child looks more perilous to anyone, but…

-Clang!

“Huh?”

The reality is, the former is actually more dangerous. The brawny demon wore a foolish expression upon witnessing his massive sword shattered into fragments.

Simultaneously.

“aaargh!”

Because of the curse of the spear bearer, the creature writhes in agony.

She walked over to the demon in anguish and spoke.

“I’m older than you!”

In an instant, Jukchang began to swing her arm rapidly, starting a wild thrashing.

-Blah blah!

It looks incredibly clumsy, but it’s arguably the most efficient attack she possesses.

After all, she can land dozens of hits in just one second!

‘I can’t believe that’s her strongest attack.’

It’s the kind of playfighting you’d expect when friends quarrel.

While I was thinking this to myself,

“Grrr… Kill me instead…”

the demon, presumably beaten to a pulp, begged to be killed.

As we disdainfully stepped over the demon and moved on,

“Is, is that a human?”

“It’s a devil!”

“Run away!”

The remaining demons seeing us, began to panic and scramble to escape.

Eventually, they seem to realize the terror of Jukchang.

“Humph! Scared of me, are you?”

Jukchang says, half chuckling with her hand on her hip.

Not one bit of exaggeration and not one bit of dignity either.

“Let’s move on. You know your duration isn’t that long.”

“Yes! Sure! Let’s go fast, master!”

With those words, we headed toward the warehouse.

***

It wasn’t long before.

“Do you think this is the place?”

“Yes! Master!”

Eventually, we arrived at the destination.

Thanks to Chukchang using her magic to survey the surroundings, we were able to find the warehouse unexpectedly quickly.

“Now, come back.”

“Yes! Master!”

Upon hearing my words, Chukchang returned as a magic wand.

I’d like for her to guard the door, but when she transforms into a human form, it consumes a lot of magic.

As such, maintaining it for a long time is nearly impossible.

‘It’s only possible for about 5 minutes, that’s if we keep ingesting potions.’

Regrettably, I opened the warehouse door.

Then.

‘So much piled up.’

Stacks of items filled my sight.

It’s clear that they are items to be auctioned, and things which are yet to be appraised.

-Master. You don’t have time to admire, do you?

‘That’s right.’

Although we’ve reached the warehouse, we can’t let our guard down.

One never knows what the world will throw at them next.

‘I don’t know what twist this writer will bring.’

[I’m just writing about your life, you know?]

It feels like the writer’s taking a jab at me, but it’s something that can be easily ignored.

‘Chukchang, hurry and find those two items.’

-I’m already looking for them, master!

It didn’t take long to confirm whether what she said was true.

– “The elixir the master was looking for is right here!”

It was Jookjang who found the elixir in no time.

I went to where she pointed.

Soon, the elixir that looked like the fruit I saw in the auction house earlier appeared before my eyes.

‘Let’s worry about eating it later, I should just grab it first.’

I quickly made a decision and put the elixir into my sub space pocket.

Then, at that moment.

– “Master! I’ve found the enslaved necklace too!”

She found the most important item in no time.

I ran toward where the necklace was located without a hint of hesitation.

Right when I was about to put it in my sub space pocket.

– Slam!

The door suddenly flung open.

I turned my head involuntarily.

And then.

‘Crazy.’

Can you believe it? Three yandere, looking at the enslaved necklace with maniacal gleams in their eyes, came into my sight!

It clearly seems like the world is trying to screw me over.

Damn it! Stop!
