The First King of Beasts

65 Fake Clone - Salvation

"What's going on? Why are we doing this?" Kim asked a bit surprised at their actions.

"That's not the real Dustin, whatever that thing is, its a fake." Mizu said, and Aria nodded in agreement.

Kim wasn't sure yet, but after everyone was saying the same thing, she just could say otherwise. To begin with, she was the least intuitive amongst the four of them, even Aria is better than her when it came to that aspect. Besides, they had known Dustin for a longer time than she had, so it would be sensible that they would know his behaviour more.

Everybody drew their weapons and held it in a ready state to fight at any time.

Dustin who was hit by Mizu slowly stood up, and as he did, his head was still down while he placed his hand on the wound he had just received. "Wh-what is the meaning of this? Why are you doing this?" Dustin asked, his voice breaking between intervals a bit.

"Oh cut the crap. If it was the real Dustin, he would have sprung on us by now. You really suck at acting don't you?" Raven said while keeping her eyes fixated on the person before her.

Some seconds pass in silence before the supposed Dustin began to laugh sinisterly as his body jerked in rhythm to the laughter.

"Is that so? Perhaps, I mistook the relationship you shared with him as that of friends and close ties, or maybe he just differs from the norm. Very well." As 'Dustin' said these words, his body slowly began to change form and shape,

When the creatures body was done morphing, it stood before the girls in it's true form, and surely, the entire process was a disgusting one. Kim wasn't sure if it was part of the attack, but it sure weakened the soul to watch. If there was one word that could be used to describe the creature before them, it would be ILLEGAL.

Something so creepy and disgusting should be allowed to live.

Whatever the creature that was before them at that moment, they had no words for it, or whether they could even kill it was another problem. It looked like melted ice cream that was continuously being melted and dripping down from all sides, and even from a distance away, they could clearly make up figures and movements that resembled big and oversized worms underneath it's skin, in all places. Its figure wasn't that of a man, but it was like a man who covered a cloth over his body to look like a ghost.

"That atrocity is even more disgusting than those monsters from the first floor!" Kim said as shiver ran down her back like creeping fingers. By far, she was the most expressive out of the four.

Lucky enough, the fight against the monster was relatively easy, in fact for the kind of ugliness the monster portrayed, the ease of the whole fight was just too unexpected.

"Too think this is all this one has to offer." Raven said.

"After seeing how ugly it was, I thought the difficulty will be through the roof."

"Maybe, because of his ugliness, we fought harder." Mizu said...

After the monster's body melted on the floor, it dispersed into what seemed like ashes, then a magic circle appeared in place of the body. The girls looked at the magic circle for a while, but it was evident that this was the way to the next level. Maybe all along, this was only a test.

Similar to what happened to the girls, in different groups and to different people around the second level of the dungeon, similar things happened, and those who could uncover what was happening and defeat the monster were able to advance, while others died to the hands of people they trusted, never knowing what really killed them.

In the end, the number of people that survived each floor kept on decreasing as they advanced.

After what seemed like an endless slaughter, Dustin was able to level up. No matter how he looked at it, he was still very far away from level 100. The other problem was the fact that the monsters were starting to become stronger. He knew they were getting stronger, but he didn't expect the rate at which they did so to be this fast.

'I think the time for me to use my blade and even use some remaining stat points is far approaching.' Dustin said in his mind.

Another thing he had been thinking about was how magic was very important in going back, but then again, he had no ounce of knowledge concerning magic. There really was no choice than travelling, besides, the travellers are the ones who discover some of the most important things in human history.

After taking care of the endless waves of night crawlers, they seemed to have stopped again, and so Dustin could rest for a while and allow his tamed beasts to deal with the ones they'd run into occasionally.

Many more days passed by fast as Dustin travelled through the never ending darkness towards whatever place he was headed. At this point, it must have been about a month and some days in, but Dustin was yet to see any useful thing. He kept moving forward regardless, and although the darkness messed with his mind some things and make some thoughts surface, he fought against this and managed to pull through each time while placing those thoughts somewhere they wouldn't be coming back any time soon.

At this point, the strength each night crawler had had begun to show significantly in fights, as they could clearly push back Dustin at this point. Still trying to reserve his extra stat points, Dustin brought out his blade and used it as a weapon. With the combined effects of his tile slaughterer and his skill bloodlust. Though his bloodlust didn't work too well against the night crawlers, whatever effect it had was ok.

..

[Bloodlust]

After killing so many enemies all in one fell swoop, bathing in, and drinking their blood, your being has undergone a permanent change, one that shows through your very skin. Through your battles and countless deaths to your name, no one is fit to thirst for blood before you.

Rank: A

Effect:

-+30% attack damage.

-Those exposed to your bloodlust will suffer from, intimidation/fear/hallucination/killing empowerment.

-Grows with the number of kills, and battles you experience.

..

Apparently, the skill had seen some progression. Dustin was sure it was due to the amount of killing he had done, but in the end there was no way to monitor it, but seeing as he hadn't really been part of any particular battles, he could bet on it that it was because of his kills.

"It used to be +10% before, but it seems like its increased..."

'Could it be that I'm some type of suicidal battle god? Heh-heh-heh..' Once again, he could only laugh at his own joke as there was no body with him.

While Dustin was checking on the skill, he looked ahead a couple miles, and even from so far, he could see something that was inexplicable. The part he was in right now was just flat land on the same level for as far as the eye could see.

If he wasn't wrong and he was seeing right, then what he was seeing ahead at the far distance was definitely sunlight, but at the same time, it seemed to be impossible. Thing is the light wasn't as bright, but compared to the side with infinite darkness, it was quite noticeable how lighter it seemed over there.

It didn't matter either way as that is the way he was heading to begin with. The slight moment of hope had made Dustin almost jump up and start running, but there was need to rush.

"Patience is the best virtue..." 'Or something like that...'

FUCK DAT!!!

Dustin wasn't going to listen to the patience virtue shit!! That right there before him was like salvation! He never mentioned the amount of cold he had been living in because of the constant nigh time, but it was just terrible. If it wasn't for his body constitution that became stronger, he would have frozen to death probably. For someone who used to live in a tropical region and never had to experience such levels of cold for so long, having a little sun on his skin would really make a big difference.

Dustin ordered the tigers to fuse so that their power would be increased, then he climbed it's back and smacked its but like it was a horse signalling for it to go faster. If he could share his stat points with the tamed beasts, he would. It's just too unfortunate that can't.

After seeing salvation before his eyes, Dustin created one single goal in his mind.

"From today onward, we will go full speed till we reach the sun! Anyone who complains shall not be summoned ever again!." Dustin announced while he addressed all his tamed beasts which he had brought out to announce the new rule, with a wide smile on his face that didn't match the expression of his brows that were a little raised and almost natural.

Like Dustin would expect, everyone started complaining, and the complains seemed to be coming from the wolves more.
