50 – Saint Vellores

In the evening, the sacraments were in full swing in the cathedral of the Holy Kingdom.

“Today, the grace of the first consecration from God will be with you who have been reborn through faith. Believers, please engrave today’s miracle in your heart. Please keep in mind that if you are with faith, you can overcome any adversity.”

In front of the podium, St. Vellores smiled and looked down at the countless people. The halo that radiated from the back of her head created a truly holy image.

The huge stained glass on the back of her Vellores depicts the god of the Holy Land spreading her hands benevolently towards her, making her Vellores look like her god at first glance.

I feel like my heart is becoming holy by itself just by looking at it. There were even people who shed tears as they were thrilled to have witnessed her holy woman with her own two eyes.

“However, please keep in mind that faith should not turn into arrogance. The moment anguish interferes with faith, faith will change to arrogance and the heart will be corrupted. We must look at the world’s principles based on the rules given by God.”

Vellores closes the bible spread out on her podium, keeping her smile. It was to finish the story and bless the people who came here.

“Dawn, become a blazing light and remain forever in everyone’s hearts!”

The voice shouted with strength covers the cathedral. At the same time, a huge light flooded from the back of Vellores and spread wide as six wings.

It was truly an awe-inspiring sight. The people who watched the miracle Vellores showed in ecstasy were thrilled and recited her prayers or burst into tears.

After looking down at them for a while, Vellores thought it was time and withdrew the light. As the light fades, she begins to play magnificent music by a band that has been waiting in advance.

As the choir sang, the cathedral fell into a melting pot of blessings. People sang miracles as if God had stayed and gone in the cathedral.

‘But… ….’

Actually, there was no such thing as a blessing. Because what Vellores just showed me was nothing more than a shape after bursting light all at once using highly trained holy power.

Since she could not show such skills unless she was a saint, she believed that everyone was a blessing and followed them. From a macro perspective, it was deceiving people, but Vellores didn’t care.

In the first place, they believed in the illusion of God and gathered at the cathedral. To them, the truth is worth less than a coin rolling down the street.

‘Believing what you want to believe is, in a way, faith.’

With a low smile, Vellores turned away from the people shouting the name of God and walked away. When you go out of the Great Hall through the door under the stained glass, a wide and long corridor unfolds.

The nuns who were waiting nearby rushed over and handed over a towel and a water cup when they confirmed that Vellores was entering the hallway.

“Oh, thank you.”

After receiving the cup, Vellores lightly quenches his throat. The nun, who had been watching the profile of Vellores drinking her water, cautiously spoke to her.

“Saint Empress. Did you finish the sacrament well?”

As Vellores sipped her water, she only rolled her eyes to look at the nun who questioned her. Are you new? She was a little dumbfounded because she seemed to be asking all sorts of questions.

After drinking all the water, Vellores returned his cup. As the nun politely accepted her cup, Vellores said, wiping her mouth with a towel.

“Yes. The show went well. Is this what you want to hear?”

“Ah. That, that…….”

When Vellores reacted coldly inside, the nun immediately lowered her gaze. After she became a priest, she spoke to her because she was happy to be assisting her saint, but she was embarrassed because she did not respond well.

After staring at the nun for a while, Vellores waved her hand and let her laugh. She was joking around, but she wanted to take it too seriously.

“Really, why are you so frozen? You and I are insignificant human beings in front of God, so treat yourself comfortably. Because I like that too. Of course, you shouldn’t cross the line too much, right?”

The nun nodded her head eagerly. Because of her cute appearance, Vellores decided to share her story with this nun, who admired him.

“But you look very young. What’s your name?”

“Ko, my name is Corlene…… !”

“Colene? That’s a pretty name Since she has a pretty face, she must have been quite popular outside.”

“Joe, how much?”

“Puch. It’s nice to be honest. But why did she decide to give her life to such a disgusting and boring place? A convent, she says, is not a place for kids your age to have fun.”

Corlene gulped down her saliva and looked up at her Vellores, her eyes twinkling.

“It’s presumptuous, but I’ve always wanted to become someone like the saintess.”

“Hmm. It’s boring after hearing so many words, but I don’t feel bad when a cute kid like you says that. But don’t be like me.”

“Why, why?”

“Because a saintess is not as noble as you think.”

It was known to the outside world that the Pope, the owner of the Vatican, and the saint, the owner of the temple, were governing by dividing their roles.

It was mostly saints who appeared on the outside to convey God’s words, and the pope was in charge of managing personnel and dispatching clergy to foreign places.

From the outside, there seemed to be no problem, but since each other’s opinions could not always be the same, political conflicts frequently occurred without knowing or not knowing.

If the nun in front of her knew the inside story of her filthy and pitiful woman, she might never say her words, ‘She wants to be like the saint’.

She wanted to openly tell her what was inside her heart, but she knew better than anyone that it shouldn’t be like that, so she had no choice but to gloss over it and end it.

“So don’t try to be someone like me, try to be someone who is proud of yourself. Got it?”

Colene didn’t quite understand what she was saying, but since it was the words of a saint she respected, she quietly nodded her head.

Vellores stroked the nun’s hair once and then moved her steps back to her shrine. No, she was going to move.

“Stand up, Your Excellency!”

I see a priest approaching at a fast pace from the other side of the hallway. Wanting someone to look closely, it was Aretan, the assistant priest who had informed him of the destruction of the golem in the past.

What interesting news did you bring this time? Curious, Vellores crossed her arms and waited for Aretan. Aretan, who quickly closed the distance, put his hand on his chest.

“Dawn is light-“

“Okay. I don’t even have eyes to see. Can you tell me the main point?”

Embarrassed Aretan cleared his throat and nodded.

“Okay. It’s nothing else, didn’t I tell Her Majesty the other day that heretic judges were dispatched to the empire?”

“By the way?”

“That heretic judge is currently being investigated by the Imperial Police Agency. The crime is home invasion and kidnapping…… It seems that a man named Janiel Malaig has arrested the Heretic Judge.”

Jeniel Malaig? Vellores, who blinked a few times, suddenly smiled and raised her sleeves. Vellores’ eyes, which covered her mouth with the sleeve of her robe, curled like a fox.

“He was a funnier man than I thought. He also has to live a long time to see. He didn’t know that there would be humans who would oppose the Heretic Judge in the Empire.”

“Saint? This is no laughing matter, but…….”

“What about him? Honestly, are you laughing too? Imagine that self-respecting Nartine being caught by the Imperial Police Agency and making a pitiful statement.”

You should be responding to the interrogation with your spirit gone by now. It’s strangely funny, so I keep smiling.

“So funny. It’s funny, but I can’t just let it go just because it gave me pleasure.”

Belores, who seemed to know why Aretan from the Vatican came to visit him, lowered his sleeves and smiled.

“Okay. Since I have to stop by the Imperial Cathedral soon anyway, I will go to the Empire and meet a man named Jenial. Are you here to recommend it?”

Aretan, who understood her intentions, nodded her head bewildered. In Aretan’s eyes, Saint Vellores was more unknown to her genus than the pope she serves.

Meanwhile, Luinel was on her way to visit Malaig Mansion with medicinal herbs that were said to be good for the body. Of course, it wasn’t because Luinel wanted to come. After all, this was a visit requested by Irea.

─ No matter how much I thought about it, the professor didn’t look good. So, Luinel, will you visit the mansion and find out what happened and then tell me?

It was certainly suspicious that Jenial left class and went back to the mansion right away. Irea dispatched Ruinel to her mansion to find out what the reason was.

To be honest, I didn’t really like it, but since it’s the lord’s request, how could I refuse? So, Ruinel visited the mansion under the pretext that His Highness had given him medicine.

Originally, he had to be guided by the servants, but Ruinel stubbornly refused their favor. It was inconvenient in many ways when the servants hung around next to him.

Ruinel, who climbed the stairs of the mansion by herself, moved to find Jenial and quickly hid herself. He blames it on witnessing a scene where Jenial and Radne are having a conversation in the hallway.

“Didn’t you say it was okay? These are things I can handle alone.”

“Two would be faster. I am not the only one who suffered today.”

“Radne. A lot of blood was shed, but don’t overdo it.”

Blood? What kind of blood? The flow of the conversation was strangely exciting, so Ruinel decided to continue eavesdropping.

“It hurts a little bit, but don’t worry, I’m fully recovered now.”

“For something like that, his gait was still unnatural. Contrary to what I knew, the recovery seems to be rather slow.”

“Oh, it can’t be helped. It’s the first time, so of course the recovery is slow.”

First time? Blood? As he put the words together in his head, Ruinel was startled and broke into a cold sweat. Because I knew what that conversation meant.

‘I thought the professor had s*x with the assistant…… !’

It was an inappropriate relationship at first glance, but Ruinel couldn’t bear to criticize the relationship between the two. Judging from their conversation, it seemed like they had a consensual relationship.

The problem was how to convey this to Your Highness. It was clear that he would be shocked if he told the truth.

While Ruinel was trembling over a strange misunderstanding, Jeniel and Radne continued their conversation.

“Is this really the first time? Didn’t it suck quite well for the first time?”

“Yeah, that’s my instinct.”

Ruinel’s pupils trembled as she breathed in vain. Because I didn’t know that the relationship between the two would be so affectionate.

‘I can’t even say it with my mouth…… Did you do it?’

It was Luinel who lost consciousness from repeated shocks.
