She Is Not a Witch

Chapter 54: Investigate hidden information

Mrs. Mela panicked and lowered her head to pick up the broken pieces of teacup. Ceres saw her and walked forward.

"Madam, you just sit down, I'll take care of these."

Mrs. Mela was startled, and then slowly returned to her seat, but her hands were twisted uncomfortably and her head lowered.

"I'm very sad to hear this news. Master Angus is a kind person, why did you encounter such a thing." Her voice was intermittent and seemed very uncomfortable.

"Sorry, please." Then Lorrain Hill waited for Mrs. Mela to calm down.

Coming over for a while, Mrs. Mela stopped sobbing and dried her tears with her handkerchief, then slowly raised her head, her eyes were a little red and swollen.

Lorrain Hill saw her slowly calm down before continuing to speak.

"Although Lord Angus is gone, he asked me to take good care of you and your children before he died. Please rest assured about this."

"Thank you, thank you Miss Lacey. I...I don't know how to repay this kindness... Don't hesitate to say what you want."

"There is nothing to ask for, but I want to see your child today." Lorrain Hill said the main purpose of the day.

"Okay, wait a minute, Dill is upstairs, I'll call him."

"Don't be so troublesome, let's go together. It just happens that I'm here for the first time, and I'm still very interested in the layout here." Lorrain Hill shook his head, showing a kind smile, and then stood up from the sofa.

"Ok...Okay, you come with me." Mrs. Mela hesitated, and then led Lorrain Hill to the front.

There are 3 floors in this building, the second floor is the bedroom, and the third floor is the attic connected to the roof to store sundries. The floors in the house are all made of marble, and the doors, handrails, furniture, etc. are all made of mahogany, which does not look old. It should have been newly made in recent years.

Passing through the corridor on the second floor, at the end of the door, Mrs. Mela took out a key to open the door. A 10-year-old child was in the room. He was leaping on the floor, drawing with colored paint, next to him. Lots of colorful building blocks are scattered on the ground.

Seeing the door open, the child looked up. He was very happy when he saw Mrs. Mela. He brought the painting to the front as if it were a treasure, and showed it to Mrs. Mela.

"Mom, I drew it. Does it look good?" The child looked at the sudden appearance of his mother, a little happy.

There is a little figure drawn like graffiti on the thick white paper, yellow paint is smeared with exaggerated hair, the mouth is light red paint, the corners of the mouth are split, and it seems to be smiling. As a whole, he can barely see that this is a person, and all kinds of pigments are piled up on the paper, which is very messy.

"Let you laugh. Miss Lacey." Mrs. Mela stepped forward and hurriedly pulled the child over, and this painting was also randomly thrown aside.

"Nothing." Lorrain Hill walked over to pick up the painting and asked the child.

"Who is on the picture, Deere?"

   "It's mother."

   "Why is mother's hair yellow?"

"Because I want my mother to be like the sun, take me out... and smile, my mother rarely smiles at me..." The child's voice was a little low.

Listening to the child, Mrs. Mela was a little embarrassed and wanted to stop, but she couldn't speak to her face.

Lorraine Hill didn’t mean to be a joke. He looked at the child in front of him, being pulled by his mother. He was not tall and he was wearing very clean clothes. He looked straight at her with big eyes, with curiosity in his eyes. And admiration.

"Come, come to my sister's side." Lorraine squatted down, clapped his hands, and stared at the child with a smile on his face.

Mrs. Mela looked at her and had to let go of her hand and let the child walk over by herself.

Lorrain Hill touched Dill's head, blinked, and checked the child's condition.

Generally speaking, he is relatively healthy. His eyebrows look a little bit like a mother, and they are softer, not as sharp as Angus.

Then there was another conversation. After a while, Lorrain Hill took out the snack gift box for the children, and invited their mother and child to move to the Calites Chamber of Commerce headquarters because it is safer there.

However, Mrs. Mela refused, and Lorrain Hill was not happy to persuade them again. Before leaving, he said that he would come back to see them again for a while.

put on the black hooded robe again, and after boarding the carriage, Lorrain Hill slowly thought about the process of this meeting.

"Serez, how did Mr. Angus met Mrs. Mela back then."

"That was at a banquet 10 years ago. The master’s career began to flourish. He often participated in banquets from various parties, and once was drunk. Miss Mela happened to be a member of the banquet. The merchant’s daughter."

"So the drunk master had a relationship with Miss Meila, and then Miss Meila's father wanted to send her to the side room in order to please the master. Although the master did not agree, he gave Mei to make up for the guilt in his heart. There are a lot of benefits to having a father."

"As soon as I came and went, Mela's father became more and more greedy, and his mouth became bigger and bigger, and even threatened the master to take this out if he didn't agree."

"Originally, the master was still thinking about love, and he was tolerant at all times. After that time, he directly sent someone to do it. Mrs. Mela's father almost went bankrupt and finally settled down. Mrs. Mela was caught in the middle. The father asked the master for him. There are many benefits, and I have been very upset in my heart, and later I became a little afraid of the master."

"So..." Lorrain Hill listened to the narration of the butler Serres, always feeling that there was still some vague place~www.readwn.com~Why did Mrs. Mela hear more about Angus's news? It's panic rather than sadness. Why did Mrs. Mela keep Dill in the room and locked it? Is she worried or abused? Why, when Lorrain Hill invited her to live in the headquarters, her first reaction was to refuse without any hesitation.

There should be something hidden in Mrs. Mela's heart. There may be a hidden relationship between her and Angus. Lorrain Hill sips tea while thinking about how to find out the truth in her heart.

After a while, she only spoke.

"Serez, can you arrange for someone to find out about Mrs. Mela's past acquaintances? I want to know about her ten years ago, how she was before contacting Angus, and how she was before and after that incident."

"It's probably difficult, Miss, it's been ten years after all."

"Even ten years, many things will still leave traces, you send someone to investigate."

   "Okay, Miss Lacey."

After returning to the headquarters mansion, Lorraine Hill dealt with some Chamber of Commerce matters, and then at night, after dinner, she sat on a chair on the balcony to rest, watching the night view of stars and lights on the horizon, and evening breeze. Blow, bring the slightest coolness.

The maid chief Chelsea gently pushed open the French windows on the balcony and walked over.

   "Miss, did you call me?"

"Yes, I want to ask you to do something." She paused for a while, watching the lights of thousands of houses in the distance, and the wind slowly blowing through the woods outside the balcony.

"The confidant who sent the letter secretly investigated Serres, the butler, and everything he had contact with in the past few days, and then reported it to me. You came to Calites the first time, there should be a lot of people you can trust."

Lorrain Hill turned his head and watched the maid’s long, silky hair slowly fluttering in the night breeze.
