Sacred Chevalier

Episode IX: Strategy and Tactics

The Kingdom of Holy Fersis is situated in the central West. To the north there is the hostile Turmakian Empire, and to the southeast there is the archdiocesan kingdom of Welos, which maintains friendship. The Atlas Ocean stretches out to the west, centering on the military port city of Roda, where it meets the Turmakian Navy. To the east, the continental highway, also known as "Spice Road", stretches from the central region towards the east, connecting with several urban states. And to the southwest, the Alsace Mountains extend. Ahead, there is a peninsula that protrudes into the Atlas Ocean, making it a barbarian zone. With the Alsace Mountains, there is little entry from the barbarian zone, and the vast Alsace Great Forest at the foot serves as a treasure trove for flora and fauna.

"Thus, the Great Alsace Forest has been, since ancient times, a hunting ground for the hunters. The vast forests have not yet been trampled, and some places are unknown. In the next week, I'm leaving for this great forest to train marches with my sophomore year students. Approximately ten days from the Wang capital, you will reach the settlement Luca on the north side of the forest, from where you will change course southwards, on the way east, towards the southernmost city of the kingdom, Lune, in the form of a fan-shaped drawing. From there, we will form a team based on three Holy Knights and one Hero (Chevalier), who will act on a team-by-team basis."

"Lord Instructor."

Sophia Volfalto raised her hand. Ask questions in a knightly manner of speaking, worthy of Rin's beauty. Professor Ernest snorts at the helm of this class.

"Earlier, we explained that the Alsace Great Forest was untouched. But this itinerary is supposed to cross the Great Forest?

The classroom shall be gay. Asked questions, Ernesto explained.

"We do make longitudinal transverses, but we don't go deep. Within the Great Alsace Forest, there are rivers running from the mountains. Across the river will be the deep zone of the Great Forest. Deep down, dangerous beasts have been identified.

"What kind of beast will come out, exactly?

"Information released by the Hunting Union (Hunting Guild) says there will be beasts like the bloody giant bear (Bloody Evil Bear) and the silver tooth tiger White Fang Tiger. But none of them were actually confirmed more than a hundred years ago, just because they were witnessed at their deepest depths. Deer, pig, etc. would normally be encountered, but in recent years, even regular bears, they don't see much. As long as it doesn't cross the river, there's no danger."

"Thank you for your explanation"

Sophia sits down. Kate worried about who to work with. Three months after enrollment, Kate was also aware that she was floating. I was just frankly stating what I thought and doing what I thought was right, but that was creating friction.

"Kite better think about a little more, time and place, and how to put it. Especially since you treat women poorly. [M] If you get hurt or emotional when you're told, you'll end up hurting Kate, too, right?

Stefan was spiritually aristocratic, albeit occasionally shitty. They are popular with the Cadets of the Holy Knight (Paladin) in order to hang out with everyone independently. Meanwhile, Kate was more awed than hated. The Cadets of the Holy Knight have many beautiful girls, but some of them don't. To the second daughter of a certain Baron's family, she said, "What do you get so fat for eating?" I asked him in the face, and he hated me terribly.

"Um... Mr. Kite. If only... the..."

Roxanne has spoken to me. Kite is seen with white eyes from other Saint Knight candidates, but there are only three girls who normally talk to her. In health and physical education classes, Elfina and Sophia were the first to put together, and Roxanne. Elfina highly clustered honor student type, but Sophia has a knightly attitude and sometimes even looks like a beautiful man. And Roxanne is the richest of the three. Weak, otty personality, seems vulnerable to pushing. Kate was able to talk to these three normally. I guess it's because the three of them accepted me as "That's the kind of guy Kite is".

"Roxanne, do me a favor. Have a party at march training."

Roxanne smiled nicely. From the neck to the bottom with a lovely smile, there is such a chirp only to please the stallion. I might be able to eat this meal during this march training. Veterinary greed builds.

"You still seem to be thinking about things in your lower body, don't you?

A voice rang from behind. It is Sofia.

"I'm a good chevalier. Strong libido means high vitality. Take it as a compliment."

Sophia sighed at the grunting man. What you are saying is not wrong. But there is a limit. I even thought this guy was thinking about intercourse all the time at four or six.

"Well, let's admit you're good. With all due respect, physical fitness is at the top level within the college as opposed to the school year, and seating grades are good, isn't it? It's strange because I'm finishing my grades properly while eating and hanging on all those instructors."

"My master was excellent. Better than that. Sophia, why don't we throw a party together?

Sophia scratched her cheek at first sight.

"I'm sorry. I already have a voice. Me and Elfina are going to be joining Carlos Rodriguez's party. I'm sorry, but this is a good opportunity. I hear you don't have much to do with girls other than us. Why don't we use this as an opportunity to broaden our interactions?

"Then you know me, don't you?

Kite has no idea. I thought I'd leave this place to Roxanne.

"She's Sasha Grupp. And she's Elsa Faranx. Different classes, but you're a Saint Knight (Paladin) candidate for the same grade, right?

There was a silver-haired child in front of her and a woman with red hair and seemingly strong eyes.

"I'm Sasha. I haven't been invited to any party. So I'm coming to your party..."

A girl named Sasha, who looked only twelve or three years old no matter how she saw it, made a faceless statement of intent. And a woman named Elsa, with her temperamental eyes and red hair, glances at Kite with her arms together.

"Atashi is Elsa, I'll tell you what, Atashi was a handful again! Why would Roxanne say that, so I had no choice but to throw you a party? Thank you!"

The unit of the party is determined to be three holy knights per hero. As for the other untraceable kite, I had to convince the two of them Roxanne had brought.

"Oh, I got it. I got it. Thank you. Now, let's get ready."

Then Elsa raised her bare voice.

"Huh? What are you talking about? We're leaving next week, right? Now that we're done, we can leave on the day we leave."

But Kate shook her head.

"You guys will be fine with that. The Holy Knight (Paladin). But I'm a chevalier. It is my role to prepare you to march in peace. You can go home now. I have somewhere to go."

The three of them looked at each other. Elsa turned her anger on Kite as she tried to proceed on her own.

"Wait a minute. No! Proceed on your own... for the Atashi? Who asked you to do that? All you have to do is obey!

"So listen, how are you going to secure food, water, etc? How are you going to set the direction in a forest where you won't even know front, back, left, or right? You think you can handle this if you go?

"Hey, what... those teachers are getting ready..."

"Did you say that? From Luca to Lune, we've only heard of team-by-team behavior, right? Go to the unknown land and walk in strange woods for days. How can you be so optimistic?

"Oh, um... don't fight..."

Weak, yet Roxanne tries to arbitrate. Sasha has had a faceless opinion as she looks up at Kite.

"Kate is a hero, so she should share it with us too. People don't move the way they monopolize information and then follow me."

Looking down at Sasha. He looks like a kid, but he seemed to think hard about what he needed to think. I decided that I would be able to rely on this enough. Kate turned her gaze to the three of them.

"What we're going to do is go to the Dean's Office. Still following me?

As soon as I heard that, Sasha tried to escape and Elsa turned blue.

"So you came to me instead of serving?

Reda, Dean of the Royal Knight College, put her elbows on her desk and put her hands together.

"At the admission ceremony, the Dean of the College asked me to come and ask if there was anything I didn't understand in the school. This march training is a college event. So if there's anything you don't understand, you wouldn't have a problem asking questions, would you?

"That's true. It's just, how come it's not me?

"Because I felt a slightly disturbing smell in this event. Until last year, march training, which was conducted only in the second grade, will take place this year for not a single school year. Simple calculations should double the number of participants and cost just that. I decided so despite that. Isn't there a reason?

The Dean applauded as small as he was impressed.

"I'm so sorry. If you were a little more matte, you would be a rare hero (Chevalier)... for the reason that you would experience the harshness of a saint knight or hero in a school year, so as to tighten up your future college life... on the face."

"... So, what's the real deal?

"There's about one, a busy student. I'm gonna crush that nose column and remind you how shallow it is... right?

Kate laughed bitterly. But I also decided this was a good opportunity. I laughed small, wondering if unexpected grades here would make my future college life more comfortable. The other three are either nervous or queasy. Ledda knew exactly why Kate was laughing.

"I'm telling you, even if you guys were the best, it wouldn't necessarily end with medetasi medetasi, would it? Anyway, I was the one thinking about this march training..."

"I see. So mean... rude, I guess it's going to be tough, huh?

"Come on? I just can't treat you guys special. The contents of the march training also lay down a decree for the professors and third graders. Of all the limited information we have, I guess we'll have to do what we can, huh?

"Once, my master said: Those who fail to gather information are fools. It's too late to mourn later, as long as you know this... Doing“ what you can ”efficiently is called tactics, and increasing“ what you can ”is called strategy."

"... that's a nostalgic phrase. I heard the same words from a certain hero (Chevalier) when I was still in college. Then I won't say anything more. You're a hero, so do your part."

Kate nodded. I took it as meaning that I don't mind moving as a hero (Chevalier), not a graduate student. Now, for the most part, it's easier to move.

Behind Kite, who left the Dean's office, the three of them follow. Entering the talking room, Elsa asked. There is a slight awe in my petty expression.

"Who the hell are you? It's not normal to have such a reciprocal conversation with the dean."

"Well, in my case, it was a little special admission. I'm more used to college directors than you guys are."

"So, what's the plan for the future?

Sasha's remarks switched the subject. Four people surround the desk in the bickering room. Kate left two pieces of copper at her desk.

"This is Istalone, the king's capital, and this is Luca's settlement, where march training begins. The travel distance from Wang capital is approximately ten days. Probably on the way, about two places would stop in the city as well. procure necessary food and supplies such as dried meats, dried vegetables and salt in the city closest to Luca"

"Mr. Kite. Can't you procure in Luca's settlement?

"A total of 400 first- and second-year students enter the settlement and try to procure food for a week each. You think a local settlement store has that kind of inventory? Even if it did, I'd sell it at a higher price."

"... shallow. I knew you were a civilian."

Elsa, the noble "four women," chuckled with a hunched nose. But Sasha affirmed Kate's opinion.

"If there's a lot of people who want it, it's natural to raise the value. That's what my parents do."

"... Sasha, is your parents doing business?

"Yeah. I run a shop called the Gulp Chamber of Commerce. I'm the three women there. My first sister took my son-in-law and followed me to the Chamber of Commerce, my second sister married me to another Chamber of Commerce, and my third sister became the Holy Knight (Paladin) and looked for a place to go..."

"Oh well. Come on.... and wait? Gulp Chamber of Commerce? Um, we have a big store on Central Avenue, is that it?

"That's right. Sasha is the daughter of Leonardo Grupp, the head of the Gulp Chamber of Commerce, who is said to be one of the best in the kingdom. And Atashi is the daughter of General Bergarard Faranx, who keeps the north of the kingdom!

"Right. I'm the eldest son of Blacksmith Draig."

Thinking she was a wussy woman, Kate didn't point it out directly, but took the form of introducing her own father. Because from the slightest experience so far, I understood that direct expression can easily create friction with people.

"Oh, yeah. I haven't heard much about it, but you're a great blacksmith?

"No, I think you're good at it, but you're not very famous. Well, more than that, can I order so I can pick up my bags in Luca's settlement at the Gulp Chamber of Commerce Tste?

"I think I can. Marco, the superintendent who cuts up the head office, is sweet to me. You can't be profit-oriented, but if you ask me, I think you can do something about it."

"Mr. Kite, what are you thinking?

Kate explained as she picked up the copper coins on her desk.

"Simply put, how do you act as a hero (Chevalier)? First, order the supplies you need for this march training in Wangdu. Receive it in Luca. As for the funds, I won't be able to rebuild them. Fortunately, I have some hands."

"If the four of us are going to go through the woods for a week, food alone is scarce. I want a new pair of shoes, a water bag, a tent for snoozing through the rain."

"You need to pick food, too, right? I don't like just dried meat. We need dried vegetables, bread and, above all, salt. I'd really like some butter or cheese, but if you think about moving forward in charge, you can't say much extravaganza."

"Is it not okay for Mr. Kate to move together in some hero (Chevalier), as he used to say?

"You can't. So is the financial problem, but we're moving on speculation right now. What if food was available in Luca's settlement? The purchased product becomes worn out. There's no convincing material to dispel this concern."

Three Saint Knight candidates face to face. Then why are we having this argument? Kate smiled and gave a reason.

'Cause I don't think that mean, unfortunate beauty would do such simple training.'

Ledda, Dean of the Knight School, was remembering a foursome who had come earlier. When I was a graduate student, I had a hero (Chevalier) candidate who acted in the same way. he said.

… Among the limited options, tactics are called strategies to capture the best results. Strategies are called strategies to increase choices and eliminate the need to make choices. We should now make as many choices as possible…

As he put it, they went through the woods at an overwhelming rate, and while waiting for the ensuing, they thrived on Lune tourism. My own best friend was tied to him at that time. And now, through her, the "that hero" Kaoru pottery candidate is once again trying to do the same.

"I'm looking forward to it. I wonder what he'll show us..."

… The Holy Knight (Paladin) is a sword and a shield. Its power is powerful and shapes the victory and defeat of the battle. But that's what happens on the battlefield, and it's just a “tactical weapon” everywhere. Then what is the existence of a hero? Is it simply the caretaker of the Holy Knight? No. Heroes (Chevaliers) must become strategic weapons. Whoever made it happen is the "true hero" …

Reminds me of my late friend, Leda's lid was just a little hot.

"This is my lady, and dear friends, welcome to the headquarters of the Gulp Chamber of Commerce"

Marco Borfez, the head of Grupp Chamber of Commerce headquarters, had a full grin on his nostalgic face. He's a little lower than average, has a round face, lowers his eyeballs, and looks how good people seem to look. Sasha was unusual, too, raising her mouth angle.

"Marco, I'm here today for a favor."

"If there's anything I can do, tell me what it is"

The kites, who were put through the back of the store, introduced themselves in turn and sat in a chair. Kite quickly started negotiating.

"Salted meat, dried vegetables, dried sturdy bread, salt, hard cheese, tents, blankets, daggers… it's like you're going on an adventure somewhere"

"It's pretty close. There will be march training through the Great Alsace Forest. This is an extracurricular class where your powers as a Holy Knight (Paladin) hero (Chevalier) are questioned. You will be leaving from the settlement of Luca, but the number of participants will double from last year. I decided it would be difficult to buy in Luca and came to ask for arrangements"

Marco nodded as impressed by Kite's explanation. If this is a normal class, the college should have the necessary supplies. But Holy Knight, if you're in hero class, you'll try to make them learn from procurement. Otherwise, because you won't be studying heroes.

"Four hundred humans try to procure a week's worth of food. Temporarily in the city of Luca, prices could soar. If you procure it in Wang Du, you will also avoid it. I don't mind the fair price, could you sell it?

"Marco, please. If you need Dad's permission, it's from me..."

"No, no, you don't have to. The boulder is a friend of your daughter's. Fine, we have business to talk about. I also think that Master Kate was right in her decision. If the college is going to be ready, there should be stories of supplies in my ear as well. But I don't listen to those stories. Perhaps the decision is to let the hero candidates learn the difficulty of procuring supplies on the battlefield. In case you starve your daughter, I'll be fired from the sight of you. Procurement and transport of necessary supplies, I did accept. Amount is…"

Marco played the Abacus. Play a week's worth of food and transportation costs and other supplies.

"Including transportation to Luca, daggers, etc. can be quite a price. Estimate 20,000 kroner."

Twenty gold coins. Even Elsa, a noble lady, was surprised by this amount. Sasha tried to say something, but Kate stopped it. Shut up and stare at the head in front of you. Not an amount within reach of college students. I dared to give that amount for some reason. A few moments later, Marco slapped Piscilli on his forehead and laughed.

"What I did, I forgot to calculate the information fee"

Get the Abacus again. Playing the beads, he whines to explain to the three non-kites.

"No, no, I heard good information (Cotto). If prices are to soar in the city of Luca, if you bring supplies in there, you can expect big profits. The story says that the decision to participate in the first school year was made two weeks ago or something… and suddenly the number of people grew, so it would be about time Luca started moving to get her supplies together as well. If our Chamber moves as soon as possible, that's all we can expect. Subtracting this information fee…"

The finger playing the Abacus stopped. Marco smiled nicely.

"One silver coin, one hundred kroner, let's take it"

Marco dropped me off until I left the store. Kate thanked him politely. My story is based on speculation everywhere. And knowing that, he lowered the value. For the entire Chamber of Commerce, it would be 20,000 kroner and other end-of-pocket money. But a merchant never responds to a compromising transaction. Yet he listened to Kate, who was just a graduate student, and got me on it.

"Thank you. I'll never forget that."

"No, no, because your story was interesting. If you're feeling grateful for me, please ask for the lady. For me and my audience, the lady is an important daughter."

Kate nodded forcefully, and again, bowed her head. Later, the Gulp Chamber of Commerce leaps to the continent's largest major chamber of commerce. The fact that that first opportunity was in this deal is where future generations of historians unanimously acknowledge it.
