Sacred Chevalier

Episode 77: Preparing for Defeat

Heroes (Chevalier) students who complete the "Rite of the Number" spend time with their Holy Knight (Paladin) in the woods behind the Royal Knight College. Heroes grant protection to the Holy Knight, who trains to use and ripen it. For a hero who will continue to sharpen his life on the battlefield after graduation, I would say the last "days of peace" of his life.

It is one thing heroes of this period think about. It's your turn to get pregnant. That way, the time to go to the battlefield will be defeated behind, and the life expectancy will increase for that matter. Most importantly, the combination of a hero and a holy knight is less likely to become pregnant than a common couple. There are theories about the reasons for this, but it is thought that it might be its recoil because the protection the Holy Knight gains is too strong.

"I didn't see too many third graders, but I can't believe there was such a practice field in the woods."

That's what I said. Stefan sipped tea. A table is set in the corner of the Narima, where the heroes (Chevaliers) gather to make a mockery. And in the middle of Nebu-jo, the Holy Knights (Paladins) were doing intense archeology. A teacher who at first glance even looks like a good man coaches him as he walks around.

"The basics of a multi-on-one fight are not to stop your legs. Constantly move around, creating one-on-one situations, only for a moment while barricading enemies. Even the Holy Knight (Paladin) is human. If you get pierced with a spear, you'll die easily. If you don't want to die, keep doing this audition."

Once a week, he invites Leon Volfalto, the next Lord of the Volfalto family, as his mentor, to train the Holy Knights. It is only to teach the "form of battle," so it is helpful even without the protection of the goddess.

It's a battle.

In fact, Adrienne, who hasn't even entered the college yet, is spearing and challenging Leon. He thought he couldn't beat Sophia with his sword and saddled him with a spear. But Leon is a hundred martial arts. The Knights also teach martial arts. He was intertwining spears with an elongated wooden stick and bouncing back with clams. Eventually we enter a one-on-one game. Leon games with each and every one of them and points out improvements. Arthur Vallow, his contemporaries as he watched how it was, tilted his neck.

"Hey kite...... is that normal, really human? How can you beat a Holy Knight (Paladin) so easily when you're a living person? What's my turn, Clam? They hit me back?

Kate shrugged her shoulders and comforted her friend with a flashing look on her face.

"Don't worry. Lord Clara Vallow is not weak. That norm is just unusual. From what I've heard, they fought each other with the mightiest saint, Lord Gratina Wackenheim. You'd better think I'm a monster, not a person."

"I hear you, Mr. Kite? I'll treat you tight later."

An outsider looks here with a chiller. Kate stood up in a hurry.

"Well, I'm about to..."

But before walking away, Stefan and Arthur grabbed his shoulder.

I'm sorry, I can't let you go.

"I'm sorry. It would be flat out for us to sacrifice instead of you."

Back to back with the words, they were laughing funny.

"The General is Duke of Augusto Javar, the Deputy General is Marquis Gaspar Dunton, as well as General Damian Javar as Deputy General and General of the Central Army, and the Marquis LeBlanc family are joined by his uncle, Count Joshua Abram, as guardian, because his son, Lord Lionel, is only eleven years old. Others are the noble and central armies, made up of the Javalist lords, together with 63,400 men. The central army will join the noble army on July 15th in Count Piana territory and invade Ursus Taipei."

"So, what about the neutral movement?

The warlord in men's clothes on summer vacation had received reports from the cadets in his room (rather than in the clerk's office). Half of them go under General Faranx. Until now, he had been refused, but the Fairchild family's decision to administer the Faranx territory finally allowed him to send officers into the Army as well.

The cadets stretch their spines to answer Flora's question. They had an absolutely close loyalty to the next head of the Fairchild family.

"On this occasion, we are moving to work for the military to start a new organization. It's an organization that centralizes heroes and holy knights, and the Minister of Military Affairs is positive."

"As expected on the matter. Seeing the time, the Fairchilds also express their support. In the battle ahead, the neutrals are having powers that cannot be ignored. Sharpening down the power of the Javalists will require the cooperation of their neutrals. So, what's Wackenheim's son's move?

"I bind my fellow students and work in joint training, etc. However, I am concerned about the movement…"

"What's that?

"Ha... it's the Gulp Chamber of Commerce that's actually moving, but we're starting to have munitions like water, cereals and medicines. This expedition is also a battle for the Javalists, so the Luftvan Chamber of Commerce should be in charge of all the replenishments?

"That's weird..."

Flora put her hand on her chin and gave her a contemplative look. Blue eyes sparkle. I was finding pleasure in guessing what Kate was thinking and what she was moving for.

(He is a thorough rationalist. And there is something surprisingly cold about being unrelated to yourself. That's how he made the Gurup Chamber of Commerce, his parents' home, prepare munitions. I mean, I expect to need it before it's too far away. Supplies from the Luftvan Chamber of Commerce will not be forthcoming in time, or we will need urgent and massive supplies. I wonder what the situation is...)

"... the state in which the Luftvan Chamber of Commerce has to change its complexion and gather supplies. Do you expect the replenishment to fail? However, the kingdom's best major chamber of commerce has different digits of transport power. Besides, I don't think the supply will fail because the central army will protect the supply line."

"Are you anticipating price hikes? Since we are marching in at the time of pruning, I was wondering if the price of cereals would also increase..."

"No, that's not it. Is Lord Rogliere strong? He used being a neutral to sell to the Javals. From the northern part of the kingdom, we're sending in wheat mowers for cash. The Javals seem to have accepted it, if only enough to make the Fairchilds make money. I'm sure this is his idea, though, right?

"Then what the hell is Lord Kite thinking? Wheat is made on an annual basis, so instead of increasing the price, I think the price will go down from now on?

"Let's think backwards. Assuming cereal prices and prices soar, what happens when?

The candidates face to face with Flora's inquiry. This active courtier asks the opponent for the opportunity too. Even if it was a fool, it was better than silence. One opinion after another.

"Is it a conscription against the great invasion of the Empire?"

"No, it would be a huge defeat in Ursu Taipei. If 60,000 soldiers are lost, there will be chaos within the kingdom"

"It wouldn't be realistic such a big defeat. Instead, 60,000 won't be able to retreat..."

"That's it!

To Flora's voice, the men shut up.

"The worst war situation for the Kingdom is that 60,000 soldiers will be stopped on the Dallas and Urs platforms for a long period of time. And it's about losing a lot of soldiers to a stalled quote. If we fail to sow next year and lose a large number of territorial militias, the Javalist realm will be filled with resentment. So much so that folk beeping happens..."

"Please wait. If it sucks, the kingdom itself..."

"Yeah, the demise of the kingdom. He should even look at that possibility. In fact, there is no way the Empire would be silent if it were to be in that state. Whether it's winter or not, you'll be marching on the Kabee Plains. If the empire invades us from land and sea where the country is exhausted and confused..."

As a matter of fact, Kate wasn't expecting that much. I'm just getting ready just in case from Sasha Grupp's "predictive dream," which is my turn. As a result, the amount of supplies we are collecting is not that large, and even if the predictive dream comes off, there is not that much of a problem. Flora, in a way, overestimated Kite.

"I'll have to ask him. Maybe he's grabbing something we don't know."

The Fairchild family and myself are not among the "subjects to be protected" in the kite. For Kate, that's not what the Fairchilds found out. Once again realizing that, Flora decided to confirm it in person.

"There are three reasons. One, an expedition to Ursu Taiji could end in failure. Two, perhaps soon, the Imperial Navy will invade in earnest. The Kingdom will be taking a two-front operation, and in some circumstances securing supplies may turn around. And finally, I haven't secured so much supplies for the first two reasons. At best, it's the size of the Rogliers' army."

At a coffee shop in Wang Dynasty, Kate briefly explained. I won't touch on Sasha's predictive dreams. Because I don't trust Flora Fairchild that much. When asked why Kate mentioned it, Flora shook her head. To that extent, I thought of myself, and so would the military. But no specific action has been taken.

"... is that really all? All the reasons you mentioned are only 'slight possibilities'. I don't think that's the only way you're gonna move your parents' house? Aren't you grabbing any more, decisive information?

"Even if I grabbed it, I'm not obliged to teach it. I'm not a Fairchild, nor do I swear allegiance to the kingdom."

"Though formal, you are described to the honorary nobility of the kingdom as a hero (Chevalier). No loyalty in that kingdom?

Kate arrogantly objected to Flora, who made her brow a little rough.

"Don't get me wrong. I never asked the kingdom to be an honorary nobleman. I don't mind giving it back at any time. I am a hero (Chevalier), even if I don't have the nobility of the kingdom. As a chevalier, I will lend my strength to the kingdom. receive aid as consideration for it. It is the Sacred Knights (Paladins) whose turn I will defend with my life. And I owe it to their relatives and to the same heroes. Against the kingdom, against the Fairchild family, there is no obligation, even if there is an in-laws"

Flora sighed. I understand that this man is such a man. I have love and friendship, but not just loyalty. "I swear allegiance to someone," and so on, maybe this guy doesn't have a lifetime. Flora switched heads. As the next head of the Fairchild family, I must protect the house.

"Earlier, we were told that the Ursutaiji expedition could fail, but what exactly would it fail to do? Also, could you tell us why you thought so?

"As far as I'm concerned, I don't have a reason to teach... well. The Fairchilds have a brother-in-law, and I don't hate you."

Flora's chest rattled with tocum. But Kate didn't realize it, so she started explaining.

"Reports should also be turning to the Expeditionary Force through the military for information on Ursus Taiwan and the unrest in Parkshire Province ahead. In the case of an expedition with a large army of 60,000, the maintenance of the supply line is key. You'll understand that, won't you?

"Yep. But with the power of the Luftvan Chamber of Commerce, replenishment will be fine. It will be difficult to procure supplies in the north, but we should gather supplies from the central part of the kingdom, the south. Build a massive supply base in Parkshire to help rebuild."

"That's right. That would be good. The problem is Ursu Taipei. The Kingdom has never done an expedition abroad in the last 200 years. It was all about The Battle of Defense. This is the first 'invasion' in 200 years, but how many generals are going through the battle of offense?

"None, right? Even General Faranx has never experienced a tactical attack."

Flora flaunted her shoulders. Somehow, I see the concern of the man in front of me.

"If you have reason to attack, you can bind the soldiers. But there is no 'righteousness' in this invasion. Every soldier is convinced and risking his life for so many reasons that this invasion is not seen. Good while you're winning. But if it's a struggle, morale will be down in no time."

"Someone named Ilham Sinan said he'd follow you there?

"If I were you, I'd try to prolong the fight as long as I could. But I can't read exactly what measures come up. I haven't seen a land called Ursu Taiji with these eyes."

Flora silenced. Make predictions for the future with that exceptional brain. Sure, the anxiety element is huge. Above all, there is an excessive lack of information. The balance in me was leaning towards defeat of the kingdom.

"... I'll talk to your father. And the Fairchilds, just in case."

"It won't be a waste."

The conversation between the two stopped there and sipped tea. Flora, who put the vessel down, tried to shake another topic.

"By the way... Actually, next time, I'm going to make a pageant"

"Hmm. Let's see. I hope it's good luck."

"When you hear I'm going to make a pageant, doesn't Mr. Kite think anything of it?

Flora asks at the top. If they say so much, anyone can understand how they feel. Kate thought for a moment about how to tell, but decided to say exactly what she thought.

"If you were a Saint Knight student, I would have begged you to join me in the fifth. Elfina, Sofia, Elsa, and Sasha are all great knights (paladins) of choice, but they are not good at things like military or political tactics. Even on the battlefield, I'm not always with you. Such talent is essential to an organization that binds heroes (Chevaliers). But you are not a paladin. I can't be in line with them."

"Right. But I'm glad you appreciated me that way. As a woman, it's a little complicated..."

"Even as a woman, you are attractive. I promise."

"Oh, I'm glad. If I wanted to, Mr. Kite would hold me, wouldn't you?

Kate tilted her neck. You mean you're being held under the pretext of turning down a pageant? Isn't that too much, a lack of chastity? To the grin of the woman in front of her, Kate finally guessed.

"... you hooked up? Is the pageant a lie?"

"No. But I already refused. The pageant has been applied for more than once, but I refuse to do it all. Because the charm of being a lord is not the appearance that changes with old, but the contents that are polished with old, right? No matter how much you brush, the stone on the side of the road remains stone."

"I see. But I'm not getting married. My wife's already here."

"Neither am I. I'm not going to marry you. But you have to get the child. In order to make the Fairchilds even more prosperous, we need the blood of those who excel in both political warfare and victory."

"I mean, am I a stallion?

"Are you dissatisfied?

"No. I thought so. One day, I will distort your witty expression with joy and make you beg for my child..."

"I am a woman of reason... and I will not let my carnal desires flow. But good. This makes it easier to convince your father. For a while, please keep it in Mr. Kite's chest. I'll see you soon..."

That's what I said, Flora got up.

As Kate and Flora were discussing, meetings were also taking place in the twin hunter Zweringieger, a fortress in the middle of the Kabachi plain, far north of the Wang capital.

"Looks like the sailboat is ready too. Finally, we're moving towards Roda."

"The Navy is ready. In the early evening, the Royal Navy will be the algae chips of the sea. But I have a report that concerns me. It's about Ursu Taiwan, southeastern part of the Empire."

Crown Prince Augusto Tormakia nodded in tannic terms to the opinion of Partina Circurie, chief of the Tabernacle.

"You mean the Lucians have started to move? That's a pain in the ass. Following the Kabachi Plains and the Atlas Ocean, we cannot afford to have a front to the Ursus plateau. We'll have to make them like the Lucians."

"But Your Highness. In the unlikely event that the Lucian tribe is torn and the Ursus Taiwan is occupied by the kingdom, wouldn't the empire be in crisis even if it were won by the sea?

Isis Ellenskaya's expression moves pickly behind Augusto. Isis is of Lucian origin. If it's about your tribe, you can't care less. Being told to lose, for example, did not allow pride as a battle tribe.

"... to the inert aristocrats, that my tribe will lose?

Isis, who usually protects his hero (Chevalier) in silence, rarely pinched his mouth. Partina gets up and apologizes. Austro raised one hand and stopped Isis.

"For the past two hundred years, the Lucians have lived peacefully in their autonomy, but not a tribe that forgot to grind its fangs and nails. I don't think the Lucians will lose, even if they can attack with tens of thousands of armies. The Lucian troops in action are about ni thousand men and women, and even more half of them actually fight. But the power is a misdigit. Can you believe that? Almost all a thousand of them are saints, aren't they? The kingdom will lose. The problem is how to lose. Depending on that, there may be an unexpected opportunity for us…"

Augusto narrowed his eyes and smiled at the end of his mouth.
