After the outbreak of the First World War, he fought in Poland, Germany, Austria and the Caucasus. After the Russian Revolution, Budyonny was elected Vice-Chairman of the Division Soldiers Committee. Finally, after the August Revolution led by Lenin broke out, Budyonny returned to his hometown. When the civil war broke out, he formed a cavalry guerrilla in his hometown, and then expanded all the way to a cavalry brigade.
