Red Dead Redemption Dawn

Chapter 62: preparation for retreat

Looking at the frightened guard John, he knelt down and said to him.

"Since you don't want to suffer the next thing, tell me now, what's your name?"

"Neil." Nervous Neil kept blinking his eyes, blinking away the blood dripping from his eyelids into his eyes.

"Then tell me Neil, how many people are in your camp?"

"Thirty or forty, sometimes they will go out on their own for many days. Robbery, kidnapping or something."

"Then how many outposts do you have in your camp?" John asked about his most relevant thing.

"Two open posts and two dark posts." Neil said nervously.

John thought of one less thing than he had guessed.

Then John took out a pen and paper from his backpack. On it, I drew the camp of the Shady Beauty Manor based on what I saw this morning.

Then he released Neil's hand and tied his feet.

"Where is your whistle? Mark it. The number of guards and the hours on duty at night." John handed the pen and paper to Neil.

Neil nervously took the pen and paper and glanced at John. Seeing that John had been staring at him, he quickly drew the positions of the light and dark posts, and also marked some important locations.

Such as food storage points, weapons storage points, and places where people are detained, and the number of patrols to change time.

After getting what he wanted, John tied him to the stake in the house again. Then went out.

"Did you get what you wanted?" Jakota asked when he saw John coming out.

"I got some but I don't know if it's right or not. I want this old man to confirm." John said, looking at the guard at Jakota's feet.

John squatted down again and said to him, "Your partner has explained a lot of things, I think what he said is fine. You are a useless person now, I can deal with you at any time, but I will give you a chance, you are willing Tell me? Or do you want to live?"

Then John tore the cloth from his mouth.

The guy's eyes flickered a few times, looked at the two of John, and then looked in the direction of the house. He doesn't know what his partner explained, and he doesn't know if what he explained is true or not, but he does want to live.

"I'll tell you everything you want to know," he said after looking at him twice.

"What did Andy tell you to do after or before Saint Denis?" John asked.

"After he told us to go to the station, he left a note. Later, he would ask someone to pick it up. After arriving in Saint Denis, he would write to him and send it to the station." The guard replied.

"Then have you written it?" John asked playfully.

The guard looked at the hut.

"I wrote it. He took it to the conductor at the station. I wrote it. The content is that we have arrived at the station and are ready to board the train to go to Saint Denis. There is no problem." The guard replied.

"Very good." John nodded, then asked something else. The secret post, the number of people in the location and the time, and the guards all explained honestly.

"How to deal with them?" Jakota asked.

Just as John was about to say something, Billy drove back in his carriage.

"Found it?" John turned around and asked.

"Well, it's safe." Billy nodded. Then talk about the location.

"Where's one more person? What do they do?" Billy looked at the guard at John's feet.

"There's another one in the house. You take them back first and keep an eye on them until we come back." John said after looking at the guy under his feet.

"No problem." After Billy replied, he sealed his mouth again, picked him up and threw him into the carriage, then went into the hut and carried the other one out.

After loading both of them into the carriage, Billy said to them both, "Gentlemen, you better be quiet, or I have the right to execute you directly."

Then Billy got into his seat and drove the carriage away.

"Where are we now?" Yakeda asked, looking at the leaving carriage.

"Go to a suitable location and observe where we are going tonight." John handed the map to Jakota.

"More than 30 people, do you want to kill them all?" Yakeda took the map and asked.

"You're too serious about killing? And that's too dangerous. It's impossible for the two of us to kill everyone silently." John rejected Jakota's suggestion.

"If I pick out five good players from my tribe, I can kill them all. There is still a gap between them and the army." Yakda said looking at the layout of the map.

"Come on, you can teach me how to hide observation while there's still time. And we're taking a kid, not killing them all. That's too dangerous for any of us." John put his arm around Jakota's said shoulder.

"We have to change into swamp jungle clothes first, and then go to observe them. We also need to pick some medicines and apply them to prevent bugs and poisonous snakes. You definitely don't want to be bitten by them." Yakeda said as he walked. Getting ready to go to camp.

Around six in the afternoon.

John and Jakota came to the dilapidated manor house again.

The two of them were observing the situation inside from a high place. The clothes they got were roughly made by Jakeda, and they couldn't see the difference between the clothes and the grass and trees until they got close. Rough but good enough for the whistle in the manor

The number of people is the same, many people are singing and drinking, and a few people are patrolling like ordinary gangs.

"Just these people, after nightfall, I think we can try to kill them all." Jakeda said after observing for a while, and then talked about today's advice.

"Have they bullied your clan before?" John really couldn't understand why Yakta made it to kill all the people in this camp.

"His camp style is very similar to the army. I want to see if I can kill them all." Yakda said looking at the manor.

"Next time, forget it this time, we are saving people this time."

After rejecting Jakota's suggestion, John asked about other things

"Have you observed those two dark posts?"

"One is behind the big tree in the northeast corner, and he built a simple wooden and grass house, just to hide him. One is in the low swamp in the southwest." Yakeda looked at the binoculars for a while and said .

"Tonight we'll deal with these two people and the two outposts first, then we'll sneak into the dungeon, save them and leave, and then leave Moraine. Understand?" John looked at Jakota and said.

"Don't worry, I won't do unnecessary things." Yakeda nodded in response.

"I'm going back now to arrange the route for the retreat. You'll keep an eye on it for a while."

"Go, I'll keep an eye on them." Yakeda nodded to show that he had no problem here.

"I'll come over after it's dealt with over there. Don't act on your own until I come back. It's too dangerous."

"It's alright, alright, let's go. I see." Jakeda waved his hand impatiently.

After hearing this, John exited from the forest and came to the side of the road. Ride to the temporary camp on horseback.

Billy was at the door, and when he saw John, he came towards him.

"Mr. John, Mr. William wants to talk."

"What's wrong with him?" John asked in confusion.

"I don't know, he didn't tell me." Billy shook his head.

"Well, I'll go talk to him." John nodded and got off the horse.

Pushing the door in, he saw William walking around the house.

"Mr. William, what are you worried about?"

"John, I want to ask you to do me one more favor." William said quickly after seeing John.

"What do you want to do?" John asked.

"Although I have always been prejudiced against my son-in-law, and it is still the same to this day, his brother's family has taken good care of my grandson over the years. I am worried that the group of robbers will take revenge on them after we leave." William said worriedly.

"So what do you think?" There is indeed such a possibility, and the possibility is very high.

"John, can you pick them up? Leave after picking up my grandson." William gave his suggestion.

"I'm not sure if they will come with me, but I will try to persuade them."

"I'll write them a letter, and he'll go with you after reading it." William took out the banknotes and started writing.

After a while William handed the envelope to John.

"Give them the letter, and they will go with you after reading it." William was very confident.

"Yeah." John took the envelope and turned around and handed it to Billy. Where have he and Jakota been?

"They may also be watched by the group of robbers, and they will go in after confirming that no one is there." John instructed Billy.

"I'll watch it." Billy took the letter and nodded.

"Go and come back quickly." Yakeda was still waiting for him. John had a feeling that if he didn't go back soon, Jakota might do it himself.

After discussing the retreat route with William, Billy returned with the family of three, more than half an hour later than John expected.

"Mr. John, they are indeed being watched. It took me a while to deal with those two people and slipped around to come back." Billy explained why he was half an hour late after seeing John.

"Very well, William and I have already discussed the retreat route. You can just do as he said. I'll go to Jakota first. You guys are ready. If it goes well, we'll be back in about two hours."

"No problem, we'll be ready."

Hearing that Billy said it was all right, John rode away from here. It has been more than three hours now. It should be eleven o'clock when he returned to Jacques, just in time to start.

I hope Yakta didn't act without permission.

John thought so and headed towards the destination.

The Boulevard Beauty Manor started a party more than an hour ago.

More than 30 people drank, sang and danced there.

He was not at all worried about his camp being attacked.

Yakeda quietly continued to squat in today's position, he has not moved too much until now.

He has been an excellent hunter since he was a child. He knows that the key to a hunter's success is not only skill but also patience.

He is patient enough to wait for the moment when his prey relaxes its vigilance.

John didn't come at the time he set, it must be something delayed. But it doesn't matter, this kind of post-carnival camp is full of loopholes for Yakda who knows the post.

He believed that he was good enough to deal with this group of drunken guys.

Looking at the moonlight above and at the sleeping camp, Jakota's figure began to slowly move towards the manor at night.
