Rebirth of the Harry Potter

Chapter 166 Chamber of Secrets, Basilisk, and Ring!

The thick water pipe is pitch black, and I don't know how deep it is below.

Harry cast several protective spells on himself, and several spherical hoods surrounded Harry.

Then he jumped off.

It felt like rushing down a dark, sticky, endless chute. He could see that there were many other pipes branching out in all directions, but none were as thick as this one.

This pipe twists and turns, and the slope is very steep all the way down.

Based on the speed and time, Harry knew that he had descended to a very, very deep place under the ground of the school, perhaps hundreds of meters.

Then, the water pipes became horizontal and acted as a buffer.

Otherwise, the heir chosen by Slytherin might fall to his death from a height.

Harry stepped out of the spout and stood on the wet ground.

Ahead was a dark stone tunnel, big enough for a man to stand in without touching the top of his head.

"Luminescence flickering."

A super bright light emanates from the wand, illuminating the surroundings.

Harry walked down the passage.

There was silence, only Harry's breathing and footsteps could be heard.

Occasionally, there is a clicking sound under the feet, which is the bone of the mouse being stepped on.

And there are many bones of this small animal on the ground.

Until Harry saw the silhouette of a huge animal coiled ahead of him, lying motionless on the other side of the tunnel.

But Harry wasn't frightened, because he only felt the silence, a dead thing.

The light from the magic wand became brighter, and when it shone on the black shadow, it was a pair of huge snake skin, full of green and very bright, at first glance it looked like the shed skin of a terrifying giant python, coiled and lying on the ground of the tunnel, inside was empty.

This layer of skin is at least twenty meters long. (The original Rowling wrote 20 feet, that is, 6 meters. It feels so small, only two floors, so it is changed here.)

Harry went on, the tunnel twisted and turned, and eventually he turned another corner and came to the end.

The end was sealed off by a circular metal door, from which protruded two intertwined snakes, their eyes set with large, shining emeralds, as if they were alive.

"Open Sesame," Harry said in a low, hoarse hiss.

The eyes of the two snakes were bright, and they separated, and the door split from the middle, and slowly slid to the sides and disappeared.

Harry stepped in.

Inside is the secret room!

This is an empty and tall room. It is at least tens of meters high. Although there are no candles, there is dim light, because the stone walls of the room are mixed with some kind of luminous substance, which is enough for people to see the general appearance of the room.

The interior layout is symmetrical, with the entrance at the center of the wide side.

At a glance, there are many thick and tall stone pillars standing in two rows, supporting the high ceiling.

The stone pillar is carved with a large serpent hovering over it. Every snake stared at Harry.

But that's not the point.

The first thing anyone sees is a stone statue facing the entrance.

It was at the end of the pillar, against the wall, and was as high as the room.

It was the statue of a man: a senile face, a long, sparse beard that trailed almost to the hem of a wizard's robe carved in stone, and two huge feet that stood on the smooth floor of the room.

This is Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts.

Harry walked up to the Slytherin statue step by step.

He looked up at the stone statue, and he knew that the basilisk was here.

He had to kill the basilisk now.

Originally, this was not in his plan, after all, killing the basilisk meant that everything would change, and he would also destroy Voldemort's Horcrux—the diary.

In this way, what he originally thought was to record the heroic appearance of King Voldemort's return, and then proudly blew himself up to be the one who opened the secret room back then.

Not Hagrid.

Then take action to kill this Horcrux, everyone is happy.

But when he realized that the basilisk had recovered, Harry suddenly thought of a neglected thing: he could not allow the basilisk to spread panic freely in the campus, because no one died in the original book, only a few people died for various reasons. And was petrified. But Harry couldn't guarantee that no one died in reality.

Harry is not that kind and selfless, but if innocent lives are killed due to his own reasons, Harry can only stop it.

So, here comes Harry.

After using an advanced polymorph, Harry turns into a cat. (It’s not Animagus. I’ve always wondered how powerful Transfiguration is. How can you only learn Animagus to become an animal? I understand it as a loophole. I remember a certain plot where Ron turned Malfoy into a mouse .)

He quickly climbed up the stone statue like a mountain, until he reached Slytherin's shoulders, and then changed his body and returned to the original.

The stone statue opened its mouth, revealing a large, dark hole.

Harry jumped in.

This was Slytherin's mouth, but it was as big as a cave, and there was a huge snake coiled in the huge space inside his body.

Harry was about to jump through the throat. Suddenly attracted by a red light.

A row of teeth carved in stone, each as tall as Harry's. One of them had something on it - a red ring.

"Σ(°Д°;"

Harry hadn't expected such a strange thing to be here.

In memory, Voldemort never came up.

He was just at the feet of Slytherin, awakening the basilisk.

So I haven't found this thing.

Was it left by Slytherin?

Harry cast a spell to remove the curse, and the ring did nothing.

Then Harry picked up the ring.

There was a sharp pain in my head like a needle prick, but this feeling disappeared in an instant.

"This……"

Harry looked at the ring in disbelief, because through this ring, his spirit seemed to be connected to something...

The rumble of stones and Harry's magic finally disturbed the basilisk, which climbed up from below, and stared at Harry with a huge, terrifying head.

"Sisi..."

(Harry, pawn!)
