29 – If you want to get ahead, go into the tiger’s den (1)

Just like the last time, our teenagers are at the forefront of the whitebeard mercenaries.

The recruits, who used to be suckers, boasted as if they were veterans just by looking at their expressions, like saying that they had been a bit sluggish in actual combat for the past few days, and that a three-year-old kid doesn’t know how scary tigers are.

“Damn it, those f*cking bastards. You voluntarily offered to pay for the scariest bastards who couldn’t even fight.”

“Brother Baker, don’t be too vigilant. Isn’t it possible that the soldiers led by the Count himself, whom the captain dealt with last time, will come out?”

“It’s f*cking crazy. Why are you crying because you’re scared?”

Guy Baker glanced at me, or at Captain Dalton, who was next to me.

“And Captain Dalton himself is fighting alongside us, can’t even those assholes win?”

Captain Dalton, no, even to me who have been reincarnated in another world and have not experienced a few wars, my subordinates look like chicks that have just had fluff.

It was very funny how these guys pretended to be anything, just like a child pretending to be an adult.

They will continue to stand in the forefront, so I’m sure they’re doing that to forget the fear of not knowing when they’ll die, but I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw that.

“Put, those assholes. They’re already saying things like that because they’ve been in the war for several days.”

At that, Karin smiled.

“I felt exactly like that when I first saw Captain Ten.”

“Still, I haven’t been flying around since the first day of the war, have I? I cut off the head of the decapitate, and later Schmitz too…”

“They say that men are children even when they grow up, and Captain Martin, who beats up even knights and becomes a mercenary, is really childish.”

As the two of us were talking like this before the war started, someone punched me in the back of the head.

I turned around and saw Captain Dalton standing there with a suspicious smile.

“There is a saying that love blossoms even on the battlefield… Are you two already dating? Why are you talking so loudly and f*cking?”

“No, so not yet…”

“This weak kid with no blood on his head talks too much. Don’t f*ck around, go to those assholes over there and provoke them. Because we have to lay the groundwork before we can properly show our performance.”

Dalton tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a spear with the helmet of a knight named Hans whom I had beheaded a few days ago.

“Captain Lee negotiated with Count Salzheim on his own, so provoke him to your heart’s content. The name of our mercenary unit depends on your snout.”

“Please trust me, Captain. One thing I wear is that I am confident. Some bastards over there will have fun shaking off the blood.”

I received the spear with the helmet of Hans and stood in a position where I could see the guys under the command of Count Philorand.

And then, like a child receiving a new toy from their parents and bragging about it to their friends, I tried to brag about it as much as possible to get the listeners excited.

However, the guys belonging to Count Philorang’s camp sent their fierce cheers first without me even opening my mouth.

“What the f*ck, you gay homo bastard who has gone through all of his mother and father!”

“Kkorajiboso proud of his dead man’s helmet, a dirty bastard who ate rice in f*cking human excrement.”

“Hey, you f*cking idiot! Seeing this old, cocky bastard go wild, I’m getting a fever! The pretty decoration on my shoulder today is neat, so I’ll take it off!”

I didn’t say anything particularly stimulating to them, no, I didn’t even open my mouth at all, but they’ve already sent such a huge support that I want to give them a big bow of thanks.

‘An opportunity like this won’t come twice. Let’s try it.’

I bowed toward them and greeted them deeply.

“I haven’t even started talking yet, but thank you so much for cheering me on. You bastards who couldn’t even eat a dick.”

The mercenaries under the command of Count Philorand heard my greeting and responded with hot double curses.

I listened to them with one ear and let them out with the other, this time shaking the spear wildly and ridiculing them in the most disgusting voice possible.

“Before I participated in this war, I heard that the knights and soldiers led by Count Philorand were the best in the empire, but when I actually fought, there was no such thing as a bastard in the world!”

Strictly speaking, the level of the soldiers and old Hans is quite high, although not the best in the empire.

I felt that the army under Count Filorang was amazing when I saw that a low-ranking knight handled it quite well and attacked me with his own magic tricks.

In a situation where provocation is necessary, how can I flatter Hans’ asshole by saying that his sword was sharp or that it was an honorable death, while suffocating like a bluffing aristocrat?

“Sir Hans here is a knight who uses very expensive and good armor and weapons. He did swing his sword a few times.”

When I deliberately cut off my words, even those who seemed to be knights or soldiers of Count Philorand jumped out in front of me and started grinding their teeth at my story.

I pretended to catch a boat and laughed.

“No, you use the same sword as me, but each attack is as light as a feather. I don’t know if I would have been able to catch a single fly with such skill. Also, how merciful Count Philorand must have been to support such a knight by giving him land and money. I hadn’t seen him yet, but I could tell without looking. Deus must have been greatly moved by the count’s goodness.”

At that, the knights of Count Philorand, who could be said to be the true men of this game, waved their arms in the air and sighed.

“It’s a brave fight and defiled the honor of the knight who was honored and died of honor.

“Because he is a lowly mercenary, even talking about it is vulgar! I’ll rip you limb from limb and throw it as pig food!”

“Come here, you lowly, insignificant bastard! This mid-level knight, Lord Welterheim, will give you a true education.”

I was proud to see them running wild and angry like wild boars in heat.

My role now is to focus all attention, aggro, and hostility on our whitebeard mercenaries.

The fact that they’re having seizures proves that I’m doing my job very well. If Count Salzheim wins this battle.

The reputation of the whitebeard mercenaries will spread far and wide, and the value of my name for provoking the enemy and playing an active part in the forefront will rise dramatically.

‘If I want to succeed, I have to risk my life.’

After making up my mind, I raised my middle finger at them.

“The idiots who have just joined the mercenary corps and are giving blows to the dickheads under me are really good at talking. If you’re feeling unfair, why don’t you join us and prove your skills?”

And I returned to the camp, swinging the spear with old Hans’s helmet on it.

“Damn it, you bastard with that nursing care! That son of a b*tch who tarnished the honor of our Count Philorang family must be killed no matter what!”

“What about our black bear mercenaries? Not even as good as the Meat Shield Recruit?”

“A bastard with a cock sucked rag in his mouth. I’m going to rip that bastard’s mouth out.”

Behind me, a huge barrage of compliments, namely the enemy’s swear words, poured in, and I went back boasting as if I had become a victorious general.

And when I returned to the ranks, the soldiers under my command trembled and said,

“Isn’t this too big? Those knights over there seem to be mad, can we win?”

“Anyway, this looks like we’re going to get screwed…”

“It is said that you are hot normally, but isn’t this too hot to the point of burning? I don’t know if we can afford it. Isn’t this going to be f*cked up?”

Lucia also said in a worried voice.

“I wonder if we should just do one person’s share… Can you survive if you are attacked by so many enemies?”

If you look closely, you can see that the tail and ears are completely sunken as if frightened.

Looking at it, it seems that I hit it too hard than I thought.

A real man, no, if you want to succeed in life, it’s right to burn it hot like inferno when it’s halfway there.

“Wow, I have so many worries. When you first started holding spears and training, you were only worried about whether you would survive the war. But right now, aren’t you doing well without acting like other teenagers over there?”

Everybody nodded at that.

“So, don’t worry too much and just follow my orders. Then, when this war is over, you too can be heroes. Get rid of all your thoughts.”

Then I patted her on the shoulder of Lucia and whispered in a small voice that only she could hear.

“It was like that on the first day, but depending on what you do today, it all depends on whether we all fall behind or become heroes. I believe in you, Lucia.”

Instead of answering my words verbally, she let go of her fears and nodded her head with a determined expression on her face.

As soon as the atmosphere was set, the soldiers under Count Philorand began to run furiously at us like mad bulls in a bullring.

The provocation worked well.
