Never Judge

Chapter 53 - 53

"Yes, why are you asking?" Cedric scratched his head.

"I'm a reporter from Three Stars, the newspaper. My name is Jon." Jon shook Cedric's hand by force.

'‹'‹

"If you want to know anything about Mor Co. we have a PR department I think you should talk to them." Cedric turned to continue walking.

"The people from the PR department have never seen the Reyes heir, but you have." Jon said as he chased Cedric.

"I work for Mr. Reyes, and as per Mr. Reyes' instructions, you should talk to the PR department." Cedric said, trying to drive the reporter away.

"You'll get paid a lot if you give me this scoop!" Jon called out as Cedric continued to walk away ignoring him.

When Cedric and Adrinna were finally together in the car again, Adrianna still didn't say a thing.

"Adri, I know what your family did to you at Nationalia. Ian and Mr. Reyes told me about it." Cedric said, reaching for her hand.

Adriana continued to look out the window, she was still ashamed about what had happened.

"I know you love your family Adri. But they shouldn't do things like that to you." Cedric told her out of concern.

"That's not what's bothering me." Adrianna confessed.

"Hmmm'¦" Cedric began to wonder what Adrianna meant.

"Cedric, aren't you mad about me with what happened between me and your boss?" Adrianna asked, worried about what Cedric would have to say.

"We were lucky that Mr. Reyes was there. If he weren't what would Aunt Janine and Aunt Celine have done to you?" Cedric disliked Adrianna's family very much. He even hated them more for how they treated

"Aren't you mad that he touched me?" Adrianna asked.

"He saved you Adri. Why would I be mad? It's not like he had any ill intentions towards you." Cedric explained.

Adrianna didn't say anything.

"Is that why you haven't been speaking to me Adri?" Cedric asked.

"Yes." Adrianna admitted.

"Adri, I trust you. You would never do anything to hurt me. I love you." Cedric said kissing her on the forehead gently.

"About what aunt Janine did, they didn't know better. They were brought up that way and it's not completely their fault." Adrianna always found an excuse for her family no matter what they did to her.

"Adrianna, you have to admit that sometimes your family goes too far. I don't care what they say about me. I'm just worried about you." Cedric was not afraid of the Hernandez family, he was the Reyes heir after all. Very few people could oppose him and still survive after.

"They are family." Adrianna always said this, no matter how badly the Hernandez's had treated her this was always her answer, they are family. Cedric knew that the moment Adrianna said this line there was no more arguing. She was choosing to turn a blind eye towards family.

"I'll always protect you Adri." Cedric said as the red light turned green and they sped home.

When Cedric arrived at work the next day, he was surprised to see Jon the reporter waiting for him outside the building.

"Don't you ever give up?" Cedric asked as Jon ran towards him.

"Why is it that no one ever sees the president arrive?" Jon asked.

"Because the president likes his privacy." Cedric refused to slow his step for the reporter.

"And how does he come to the office?" Jon continued to pester.

"Probably by car, like any other president of a company Mr. Jon." Cedric sighed.

"But no one ever sees him arrive or leave." Jon argued back.

"They do and they don't." Cedric left a cryptic answer as the guards blocked Jon from entering.

At the president's office Ian and Camilla followed as Cedric entered his office.

Ian placed the coffee on this table and Camilla began explaining his schedule for the next few days. Both Ian and Camilla noticed that their boss was not as focused as usual, so Camilla elbowed Ian to ask.

"Cedric, is something wrong?" Ian asked.

Cedric shook his head as if coming from a daydream and looked at his two assistants. Clearly his head was in the clouds.

"No, I mean, yes, well has a reporter been tailing either of you?" Cedric asked.

"No sir." Ian looked at Camilla to see if one was tailing her. Camilla shook her head.

"Can you call Leon to come in here." Camilla stepped out and came back in with the bodyguard behind her.

"Leon, did you notice a man trailing me?" Cedric asked.

"The reporter that approached you yesterday sir?" Leon had seen the encounter but he didn't see the chubby man as a threat.

"Yes." Cedric confirmed.

"He's been spotted outside the office sir, but he doesn't seem like a threat." Leon said recalling the report the head of security had given him.

"Why is he approaching me and neither of you?" Cedric asked his two assistants.

"Maybe because you're new? And the rumors about Adrianna and the Reyes heir could also play a role in it." Camilla suggested.

Cedric decided that Camilla's theory was probably right and just ignored the reporter.

Over the next week Jon approached him everyday, both when he was arriving and when he was leaving.

Finally one day when Cedric was walking to Adrianna Jon approached him.

"That watch you wear, there's only ten of those." Jon said.

"Miss Ayanna gave my wife two, one for Adrianna and one for me." Cedric said.

"Ayanna Reyes has one, that's three, I saw the actor Eric Chan has one too, that makes four, the Abad siblings have one each, yes I know Veronica is actually Anna Abad, so that makes six, three are with the Sebastian siblings, so nine, and one with Raymund Laurence." Jon counted.

"What are you trying to say?" Cedric asked.

"My reports have always been focused on the five princes and their families, so I watch them a lot." Jon said walking closer to Cedric.

"I don't understand what you are saying Jon." Cedric stood still.

"Ayanna Reyes purchased ten of those watches. Everytime the Reyes Heir appears in public, he has that exact same watch. So either Eric Chan is the Reyes Heir, or you are." Jon concluded.

"Or my watch could be a fake." Cedric told Jon.

"I doubt." Jon told Cedric. "I won't report this."

"Why?" Cedric asked.

"I've been around Mr. Reyes. I've seen the bodyguard that secretly follows you, he looks just as scary as the ones that follow your sister. Also it doesn't hurt to have an ally on the inside, for both of us." Jon said sticking out his hand.

"Allies for now." Cedric says as he shakes Jon's hand.

"As a sign of good faith, I'd like to warn you that more and more paparazzi will be waiting outside your office. There is too much news around this Reyes Heir." Jon said.

Cedric simply nodded and left.
