Chapter 2153: Complete Annihilation

The characters brimmed with the edge and passion of youth.

Luo Hanye and the others glowered.

“Bastard!” Luo Hanye shrieked with infuriation, ready to vomit blood. His shriek echoed through the surroundings and startled countless animals in the vicinity. “Kill him! We must kill that cretin!”

……

“They’re here, alright.” Yushi Moli paused when he heard a furious roar and looked behind him, derision playing on his lips. He jumped upward and darted into the trees, vanishing into the depths of Qingqiu Mountain.

The mountain was enormous and Coldnight Estate would never find him without Kang Cheng’s marks. Yushi Moli wasn’t foolhardy enough to think that he could take on their entire group by himself. He was at most an earth rank cultivator in his current condition.

Since Coldnight Estate knew that he’d already killed an upper human rank cultivator, there would certainly be those he couldn’t defeat in the party this time. And judging from that howl, Luo Hanye seemed to have come in person.

It was his nephew who’d died, after all.

A nephew he viewed as his own son.

Thus, Yushi Moli could only run from his pursuers; he couldn’t attempt to meet them head-on. His actions earlier were just to enrage them and to inspire contempt for their quarry. Someone shrewd or calculating would never do what he’d done. They would conceal themselves after entering the mountain and observe from the shadows. They would never leave such provocative words.

Yushi Moli decided to go against convention, but he didn’t know that Coldnight Estate had brought hunting dogs.

After the dogs identified the boy’s scent at the scene, they led the estate’s experts straight to him.

……

Yushi Moli wandered aimlessly through Qingqiu Mountain. Though he’d come to hunt beasts, reality was cruel compared to daydreams. There were plenty of beasts in the mountains, but they weren’t lining up to meet the boy.

Besides, he was on the outskirts of the mountain. It was winter and most beasts were hibernating. Who would be lingering outside for no reason? Any who did usually became food for others.

The boy finally stumbled upon his target when the sun hovered in the south.

“Oh? Is that a monster beast?” Yushi Moli paused when he saw a white bear napping on the ground. Regular beasts were long in hibernation at this time of the year. Only monster beasts could move about normally.

Dappled sunlight warmed the ground since it was noon. Although it was still very cold, it was a rare day of good weather for monster beasts. Thus, the blizzard bear lazily took advantage of the opportunity for some sun.

Yushi Moli had read about these monster beasts in books. A first rank blizzard bear was the equivalent of a lower human rank cultivator.

“This guy’s more than five meters long, he’s pretty big. Even if I kill him, I won’t be able to bring him back…” Yushi Moli pondered. “Well, I don’t need the whole bear. Its paws and pelt are the most valuable.”

He’d conducted some research of various Qingqiu monsters before commencing his hunting trip. A blizzard bear’s paws and pelt sold for the most money—roughly five hundred gold coins.

Arf arf arf!

Earthshaking barks echoed behind him just as he considered how to take down the bear.

“Found him! The kid’s ahead!” Shouts rose and fell through the air.

“They found me that quickly?” Yushi Moli blinked, then sagged with resignation when he saw the massive hunting dogs. “Oh, of course, they’re not idiots. Eh, time to run!”

He shot out like an arrow and grazed past the blizzard bear before vanishing into the woods.

“After him!” Coldnight cultivators had caught sight of him and immediately gave chase.

“ROAR!!”

They were interrupted by a tremendous roar and an enormous white body pouncing on them.

“What is that?!” The cultivators only had Yushi Moli in their sights, so they were caught off guard by the massive being.

It smacked one of them down before they had a chance to react. It bit its target on the neck and killed an upper human rank cultivator before he could defend himself.

And then…

The blizzard bear ran off with its prey, leaving a shell-shocked party from Coldnight Estate.

A monster beast?

A first rank blizzard bear!

“Bastard!!” Luo Hanye shrieked again. A first rank monster beast was an ant! An ant had dared make off with one of his men right in front of him! “AFTER HIM!!”

“After… which one?” His men blinked. The bear or Yushi Moli? Those were two different directions!

“The boy, of course!!” Luo Hanye was nearly apoplectic with fury.

His men jerked awake and frantically shot off in Yushi Moli’s direction. There was no need to conceal themselves anymore, so true qi exploded out of their bodies and raised a ruckus along with their hunting dogs.

“ROAR!!” came another furious howl from deep within the mountain. Ominous aura spread in all directions as a massive bear the size of a mountain stared coldly at the trespassers. It seemed to have just awoken and a cruelly violent air raged over it.

“An upper fourth rank monster beast?? This is a terra bear!” Luo Hanye gasped.

Third rank monster beasts were the equivalent of celestial rank cultivators. Fourth rank… and upper fourth rank… could smack a celestial rank to death with one blow.

He turned and ran without further consideration. Being a celestial rank cultivator, he was strong enough to escape from the encounter. His men, however, were not so lucky. They were swiftly smashed into piles of meat. Even the highly valued Mister Zhou was torn to pieces.

Coldnight Estate suffered enormous losses on this incursion.

……

Up in a tree, Yushi Moli curled his lip when he observed what was taking place below.

“Although I didn’t know you’d bring hunting dogs with you, you’d have your ways of finding me since you came for me,” Yushi Moli chuckled gently. “Here you go, have a big present.”

He’d discovered the terra bear early on and stayed close by, waiting for those from Coldnight Estate to find him. The boy kept up a constant string of harassment in the absence, thoroughly irritating the bear. When his pursuers arrived, he smacked it and sent it into a towering rage.

But since the bear couldn’t find the boy, it vented its spleen on the hapless Coldnight contingent. After it rampaged through the humans and killed them all, it ran off in chase of Luo Hanye.

As a celestial rank cultivator, Luo Hanye’s ripples of true qi were extremely noticeable, like a bright lamp in the darkness. A terra bear enraged beyond reason didn’t hesitate to hunt him down as well.

Chuckling, Yushi Moli headed in another direction. The blizzard bear that’d run off earlier was very valuable, he didn’t want to give it up. He was also hungry and wanted a taste of bear.
