Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 89: Prosthetic

"Don't worry, I won't persuade you to give up like your parents did. Can you tell me the story of that guy named Charles? How did you meet?"

Margaret didn't want to say it, but she held it back for a long time and finally couldn't hold it back. When she opened the chattering box, she couldn't hold it anymore, and she said everything she knew Charles again.

The girl's face was sometimes happy and sometimes sad, and she didn't notice the coldness in Anna's black pupils beside her.

After a long time, Margaret stopped slowly, and she smiled when she saw Anna next to her and said: "Sister Anna, thank you for listening. After telling you so much, I feel much better. By the way, Haven't your disappeared husband been found yet?"

Anna rolled aside sadly, "He hasn't come back for so long. I guess he can't find it anymore, hey..."

Seeing Anna's sad look, Margaret hurriedly supported her on the shoulder, and said apologetically: "Sorry, I touched your sadness."

Anna shook her head and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, as if she was holding back the pain in her heart and said: "It's okay, I'm used to it."

Under the black skirt, two tentacles with black roots slowly stretched out and rolled towards the white skirt of the girl next to them.

"Sister Anna, how does it feel like to tell my beloved one to leave? Does it hurt?"

The tentacles under the wooden chair stopped, and Anna quietly watched the girl in front of her look like that day.

She suddenly looked up at the darkness in front of her. "It's not easy to describe... but I feel very uncomfortable. Are you sure you really like him? Or are you just grateful for him for saving you?"

The frowning Margaret kept twisting the lace of her skirt with her white fingers.

"I don't know if I like Mr. Charles, I just want to see him again... very much. Sister Anna, should you understand this feeling?"

There was a trace of struggle in Anna's eyes.

Margaret didn't notice this, she was still thinking about her own affairs. "As long as I reach adulthood, my father will give me a big manor and other assets. Maybe I can give all of these to Mr. Charles, and he won't have to go on sea adventures."

Anna listened to the girl’s suggestion, and the corners of her mouth raised slightly, “Maybe you can write to him first, and ask him if he agrees, maybe he will agree, and where he will come happily.”

Marguerite's eyebrows just raised, and immediately dropped again. "No way...My father won't allow me to contact Mr. Charles again."

"It's okay, you give me the letter, and I will give it to him for you. Mr. Pete has been unwell recently. I took care of some of his tasks. Recently, a batch of cargo ships are going to Coral Island."

Marguerite's beautiful face was taken aback first, and then she hugged it excitedly. "Sister Anna, you are so kind! I have a lot to say to Mr. Charles. By the way, I have to send him a photo of me now. And..."

Anna's slender arms wrapped around the girl, patted her back gently, and the tentacles under the skirt retracted. "

Charles sat on the windlass on the deck, silently watching the navigation mark on the water in front of him slowly moving backward.

Although it was still pitch black in front of him, he already felt the smell in the air. When he saw a fly stop on the deck, he knew that the coral island was approaching.

Suddenly his severed arm moved by itself, Richard's voice rang in his mind. "You said that if we go back now, shouldn't we just buy a carve?"

"Don't be poor, one less arm reduces our strength a lot, and we must find a way to make up for it."

"This is all broken, what else can I do? The broken hand is still in the wall, why? Let's wait for the island to emerge again, and then go in and pick it up?"

"Of course not, I mean, use other methods to make up."

The two of them just said this, the doctor’s scolding sounded in the cabin behind, it seemed that someone was greedy and stealing his drink.

Charles stood up and walked towards the hatch. He thought of a good solution. The doctor just had what he wanted.

"What? You asked me where did this prosthesis come from? Do you want to install one too?"

Charles nodded. "I think you can use it pretty well."

The doctor spread out the iron hand and shook it, "Easy to use is easy to use, but it's expensive, can you afford the money?"

   "How much do you want?"

"My hand alone is 3 million."

Charles' eyes suddenly opened slightly. He didn't expect a prosthetic limb to be so expensive. You must know that he bought the Narwhal at the time for only 3.5 million. Such a small thing is a boat.

Richard was thinking about another question, "Hey~ this old man is so sloppy, he didn’t expect to have more money than us! Black doctor!"

"3 million echoes are worth the money~www.NovelMTL.com~ This is not an ordinary prosthetic. I heard those guys say that this thing uses some enchantment level things." The doctor said, dialing the outer shell of the iron hand. Next, the large and small metal gear structures below are highlighted.

Each gear is tightly buckled with each other, and as the doctor's palm opens and closes, it clicks and rotates quickly or slowly.

When Charles was keenly aware of those gears turning, purple inscriptions faintly lit up.

"I don't know how those guys do it, but as long as it is installed, it will be as useful as a real hand except that it is not conscious. If you need it, they can add some other things to you."

Charles' heart moved, if there is this thing, then his broken arm will no longer be an influence.

"After you return to Hong Kong, please contact me. If possible, I need to install one."

The doctor nodded, and said to Charles: "Yes, as long as the money is in place, they are all easy to talk. They usually operate in the West Sea, but I remember they seem to have contact on Coral Island."

"Try to make them hurry, I'm in a hurry."

"In a hurry? How long are you going to rest this time?"

"Not necessarily, it depends on the situation on Kede. If they have already returned and exchange information with each other, then we will go to sea as soon as possible."

"If you want to survive, stay on the shore for a longer time. This time you are lucky if you just throw an arm. If you feel unstable, you will lose your life next time."

At this moment, the sailors' cheers suddenly came from the deck, and Charles opened the door together with the doctor and went out.

Coral Island’s lighthouse beams slowly swept over the Narwhal, and they came back alive again.
