Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 32: Locals

Looking at the nodding head on the dock in the distance, Charles licked his cracked lips. "Drop first, and ask the locals directly."

When Charles and the others got off the boat, there was already a group of people outside, staring at them without blinking their glasses.

Just when Charles was staring at his heart, two middle-aged men in customs uniform pushed away from the crowd and walked over.

One of the men with the law pattern on his face spoke. "Who is the captain? Where did your ship come from? No foreign ships can be docked here, don't you know?"

Charles stepped forward. Explained what happened to him in detail, and asked if there was a shipyard on the island.

After Charles finished speaking, he didn't get a response for a long time, and he saw the two middle-aged people in front of him staring at him motionlessly like petrified.

It took several seconds before they came back to life, and their expressions were obviously warm. "Yes, this sir, you drive the ship to the east, there is a ship repair yard there,"

The second officer Kenona leaned to Charles' ear and said, "Captain, are the people on this island a bit slow to respond?"

Charles is also not sure, but these are minor problems, and the crisis is finally over.

Waiting for Charles to drive the Narwhal into the shipyard, but was notified that it would take a month to replace the turbine.

Although the time is a bit long, there is no way after all. The turbine is the heart of the steamship. Without it, the Narwhal would not be able to return to Coral Island.

When Charles finished paying the deposit and walked out of the dock, he saw the islanders still staring at them motionlessly.

With dry lips, they couldn't pay attention to the strange local customs at this time. Charles led the crew into a deserted hotel and had a hard meal.

Looking at the crew members with their burping faces at ease, Char said, “It takes a month to change the turbine. People in this place seem to be a bit exclusive. Please pay attention to safety and don’t get into trouble.”

The crew leaned comfortably on their chairs, and agreed in twos and threes.

But when Charles paid out the rewards for this mission, everyone was energetic.

Holding the Echo Coin in his hand, James hesitated and said: "Captain, this mission has failed, and the Narwhal has to change the turbine again. If not for this salary—"

"It's okay, you still have to take the money you should take. Everyone has a good rest during this time."

Previously, he was frugal to buy a boat. Now Charles doesn't care much about it. After such a disaster, if he simply relies on some paper money to gather people's hearts, it would be a good deal.

When got the money, all the crew could not sit still, they walked out with a smile on their faces.

Looking at them, Charles certainly knows where they are going. For men discussing life at sea, this is basically a routine. On the contrary, Charles, who is always thrifty, is a freak.

Charles had a nightmare that night. He dreamed that as if he was sinking into the water again, the huge, terrifying human monster turned and looked at him.

He yelled and screamed, and finally opened his eyes in a cold sweat. There were no seabeds or monsters, only the slightly painted ceiling of the hotel in front of him.

"Mr. Charles, did you have a nightmare last night?" Lily jumped to her chest and said.

Charles sat up and took out his pocket watch, and found that he had slept for 11 hours, which he had never had before.

Just when Charles got up to go to the bathroom, he found an envelope at the door.

opened it and saw a beautiful squiggly writing appeared in front of Charles.

   Mr. Charles:

The life on the sea explorer is too dangerous. I can't stand it. I decided to go back to the shore. Forgive me not to say goodbye to you.

   The former sailor Severe

"Hey..." Charles crumpled the envelope into a ball and threw it into the garbage dump nearby.

"It seems that money alone cannot hold people's hearts. Some people are scared."

Charles did not fluctuate much in his mood, and it was reasonable for someone to leave in such a situation.

Calculate the time, it should be night, Charles walked out with Lily.

The difference between the port area is not so obvious, but when Charles walked into the so-called crown area, he immediately noticed the difference between the island and the island.

Whether it is in dress or architectural style, it is completely different from Coral Island. Every man on the street wears a suit with leather collar and a cane in his hand. The ladies in all kinds of gorgeous costumes look very elegant.

I don’t know if it’s Charles’ illusion. The islanders on this island are all considered the upper level. The handsome men and beautiful women are much taller than the average island.

But no matter how good-looking, the habit of staring at people has not changed.

The feeling of being watched as a monkey is not good. Charles stopped a man walking by and asked, "Sorry, where is the Explorers Association? I didn't find it in the port area."

"The Explorers Association? What is that? I haven't heard of it."

Haven't heard of it? Charles was surprised. As far as he knew, most of the islands in the Earth Sea were found by explorers.

Although the organization of is loose, it has formed a symbiotic relationship with the governor of the island, and has great influence in the places where humans live. UU reading www. uukanshu.com

If there is no Discovery Association in this place, is it an isolated island in contact with other islands?

Taking advantage of Charles' stunned effort, the guy being questioned has already turned and left.

After thinking about it for a while, Charles went straight into a library next to him, and soon he found various charts from it. After comparing with each other, Charles quickly found the location of the current island.

He drew a line on the chart with his finger, and said with a relaxed expression: "Fortunately, although this place is not recorded, it is not too far away from the coral island. The boat can be repaired quickly and can be returned in 15 days ."

Buying all kinds of new or old charts, Charles walked out of the library.

He stood on the busy street and was stunned for a moment. The ship was being repaired, and the current coordinates had been confirmed. Now he didn't know what to do.

If it was Charles before, perhaps he should continue to exercise his physical training marksmanship to prepare for future adventures.

But when he thinks of the increasingly serious auditory hallucinations, Charles is wondering if he is too tight and has not rested since he came here.

"Try to relax, maybe this is good for auditory hallucinations."

Charles thought of this, turned his head to look at Lily on his shoulder, "Let’s go stroll around this island."

"Hmm!" Lily's ears stood up as soon as she heard that she was going to play.

Towering minarets, vivid reliefs, and long windows with stained glass.

Although Charles does not have any artistic cells, he can still see that these buildings are extremely sophisticated. Coral Island, a new island with little heritage, is simply incomparable.

"Mr. Charles, what's that? It looks so delicious!"
