Monster Hunting High School

Chapter 29 Falling in the Dark

If wizards are the eternal enemies of demons, then Hell is the eternal nightmare of demons.

The Black Prison is a prison set up by wizards for demons. It was originally called the "First Prison of the Wizards Alliance". This prison is hidden deep in the Silent Forest. Hundreds of monsters are imprisoned every year, but no one ever comes out alive.

This prison is like a black hole, swallowing up all information.

Therefore, it is feared by monsters and is called the "Dark Prison".

After the wizards found out, they simply changed the name of the prison to "Black Prison" to deter the demons active in the outside world.

And now, the little guy who came out of the dark prison was standing in the cabin.

The captain of the Mist rested his chin on his hand and looked at her with a smile.

This is a little girl of six or seven years old, with pink makeup and jade, very cute; her big black eyes are bright and clear, looking at the tall captain, smiling happily, completely unaware of how terrifying the monster in front of her is.

"She comes from the dark prison?" The captain glanced sideways at the banshee.

"Yes." Nikita lowered his head.

"They say it was an abyss. How did she climb out?" The captain pinched the little girl's cheek and asked with great interest.

"Her mother is the warden of the Black Prison."

"Why protect her?"

"When I was a wizard, her mother was my mentor." Nikita answered quickly. She knew she had to convince the man in front of her. These sentences had been brewing in her heart for many days: "She was born The demonic blood has eroded her and will transform sooner or later. The tutor knows the consequences of her staying in the university, so she entrusts me to take her away. I owe the tutor my life, so I have to protect her."

"That's ridiculous." The captain of the Mist shook his head.

Nikita knew what he meant.

It is indeed very ridiculous for a demon to keep his promise of food.

Perhaps, deep down in her heart, there is still a trace of unrealistic expectations.

"Why don't you go back to the Lich King's territory?" The captain stood up and threw the white cloak he was wearing into the armchair.

"I've been back." Nikita replied harshly: "But she still hasn't transformed. The old lichs want to send her to the test bed, the little lichs want to eat her, and even my friends are right. She's ready to move."

"Why are you here?"

"My teacher told me that she had no chance of survival until she got on this ship."

"Didn't your teacher tell you the rules for getting on the ship?" The captain's blue-black lips curled up.

"Rules?" The banshee looked at the captain blankly: "Aren't the captain's words the rules?"

"Although I like your compliment very much, I must tell you that the rules for boarding the ship were drawn up by His Majesty the Siren King." The captain shook his finger and nodded at the two prey in front of him, with a bloodthirsty smile on his lips: "Everyone who boards the ship must bring his or her own sacrifice."

Nikita's heart suddenly tightened, and she looked at the captain with a pale face.

"Sacrifice!" Her voice was hoarse from fear.

Sacrificial offerings are items used in sacrifices.

Wizards are accustomed to using sandalwood, talismans, fine wine, and delicacies during sacrifices; in more solemn sacrifices, they will also offer three animals. For them, sacrifice is mostly just a ceremony to remember their ancestors, and only occasionally acts as a bridge between yin and yang.

The demon's sacrifice is completely different.

Demons have a long history. Their ancestors believed that the world originated from a great true spirit, and that every life was a descendant of the true spirit. And the true spirit controls the misfortunes and blessings of every descendant of His blood. The wizard is the fire thief and traitor of the true spirit. The wizard's flesh and blood is the best gift dedicated to the true spirit.

Before every feast, the demons would perform simple sacrifices. After every sacrifice, a grand banquet will be held. Because fresh flesh and blood is the food of the true spirit, and it is also a delicacy for demons.

"So I need to choose a suitable sacrifice among you." The captain of the Mist looked at the two of them gently, without any fluctuation in his dark red eyes: "First, your names."

He snapped his fingers, and the dark oil lamp on the table immediately emitted a green flame.

An old elf with a pointed head, round ears, and a gray beard slowly crawled out of the darkness, climbed onto the table, trembling, and spread out a gray-white animal skin picture.

In the center of the picture is a black scale, as if painted with charcoal from embers, with rough edges and simple structure. The animal skin was covered with dark red runes, and a faint red light shone in the dim cabin.

Nikita's lips moved and her mind went blank.

Sacrifice means death.

This is the moment she has been closest to death since she was living on the streets at the age of six.

"Zhou Zhou." The little girl next to her pursed her lips and timidly announced her name.

The old elf roughly grabbed her little hand, pierced her arm with his black nails, dipped his fingers in the flowing blood, and wrote the word "Zhou Zhou" on the left blank space of the scale.

"The word 'Zhou' is both spoken and used. A long time ago, it represented the best human beings and animals." The captain turned his back to them and was admiring the brilliant scene outside through the narrow window in the cabin.

Behind him, the little girl covered her arms and sobbed quietly.

The old elf poked the sluggish banshee next to him with his long finger.

"Nikita," the succubus murmured.

Her name is entered on the right side of the scale.

The green flame on the oil lamp rose up, illuminating the old elf's vicissitudes of life, making it look particularly gloomy.

"Now, you two will recite a section of "Fu Wei Shang Sutra" in front of the shrine of His Majesty the Siren King." The old elf said in a hoarse voice, pointing to a small black section on the table that looked like a tree stump.

"Fu Wei Shang Feast Sutra" is a sutra that must be sung before demons feast and offer sacrifices. It is said to be the teachings of the true spirit recorded by the demon king in ancient times. Demons who do not obey the commandments will lose the blessings of the true spirit.

Nikita was very familiar with these prayers.

The old elf sang a line in its strange tone, and Nikita and Zhou Zhou followed it.

"...We have a big fight to pray to the gou; the gou stands on the back to bring hope. The longevity test is only for Qi, so as to introduce the good fortune... Oh my sorrow, Fu Wei is still enjoying it!"

The whole sutra has less than 300 words and can be sung in less than five minutes.

The dark red runes on the gray and white animal skins bloomed with dazzling red light as the lingering sound of the chant lingered, reflecting the figures of the people in the cabin on the bulkhead, making them appear ferocious and twisted.

In the red light, Zhou Zhou's little hands were holding Nikita's robe tightly.

Nikita crossed her arms, sat on the floor, and buried her head deep in her knees.

Breaking into the forest of silence, in order to survive.

Escape from the Silent Forest in order to stay alive.

Breaking into the Lich King's territory, in order to survive.

Escape from the Lich King's territory in order to survive.

Been struggling for so long.

Is it finally coming to an end?

On the gray and white animal skin picture, the scales are swinging left and right.

The old elf panicked and asked the captain for help. The captain grabbed its ears and threw it from the window into the sea.

"Choose one for yourselves." The captain wiped his hands with a white silk handkerchief, and then threw the silk handkerchief out of the window.

On the table, the green oil lamp flickered several times and finally went out. Light blue smoke curled up, lingering in the small cabin.

"If we can't live together, then let us live together." Zhou Zhou whispered in her ear and said, "I haven't changed yet and can't eat people."

The banshee raised her head and glanced at the little witch. Her teeth were bared and her eyes were bright.

The fleeting memories flooded her.

"Sister, this uncle is so ugly!" In the Lich King's territory, the little witch pointed at Nikita's Lich teacher and whispered into her ear.

"When I grow up, I will catch a group of little wizards for you! Eat one and throw one away!" Standing in front of the bonfire, the little witch waved her little hands in an arrogant manner.

"Sister, if you're hungry, bite your fingers and you won't be hungry anymore." On the way to escape, the little witch comforted her when she was not even drinking water.

the succubus howled.

"What a fascinating smell." The captain of the Mist turned his head and looked into the cabin. He took a deep breath, looking intoxicated, and his tone became warmer: "Exuding fear and despair, still trying to struggle, even if there is only the slightest light, I still hold on tightly and refuse to let go."

"Maybe your teacher knew you could still see a glimmer of light, so he sent you here."

Nikita felt chilled to the bone.

"You can let go now."

Nikita burst into tears.

She knew she was about to fall into the deepest darkness.

The captain looked at her gently.

Watching Nikita sob and chew.

Look at the thin blood streaks sliding down the corners of her mouth.

Watch them melt into each other in despair.

The blood at the corner of the mouth is sweet and warm.

Nikita's stomach began to feel cold.

This coldness will soon spread throughout the body and will remain cold.
