MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

768 Four Pillars: The Right Track

While reading through the requirements needed for his Hammer of Beginnings to be fully at Legendary grade, Valyr thought back to his thought process from earlier.

Having read through the series of notifications related to the Hammer of Beginnings, the young man found it slightly peculiar that only [Breath of Flame] had been upgraded.

With his artifact upgrading thanks to the birth of the Supreme Blade of Primeval Flames, Valyr began to find it even more peculiar, especially after seeing that the system mentioned that his artifact was just partly considered Legendary grade.

For some time, he wondered whether he needed to forge other Legendary grade artifacts of different attributes to fully upgrade Hammer of Beginnings.

After all, the Hammer of Beginnings was a forging hammer that contained five attributes in one vessel, perhaps six due to the inclusion of the skill [Breath of Beginnings].

Fortunately, his guess was proven to be correct, with the list of requirements before him needing him to forge five more Legendary grade artifacts.

"Four out of the five remaining ones are along the lines of what I expected," muttered Valyr to himself.

"Though I'm quite surprised that the last one needs me to forge an artifact of the Primeval attribute."

Just how like Intents had different grades to reflect how close one was to the ultimate truths of the universe, attributes also had their corresponding tiers.

However, not only did these attributes show how close they were to the truths of the universe, they also showed how the difficult they were to wield and to comprehend.

Then again, if one were able to successfully such a high-tier attribute, then one would be able to tap into a force far greater than even multiple low-tier attributes combined.

In fact, that's part of the reason why some had chosen to renounce all of their previous progress to get a chance at comprehending a higher-tier attribute.

Though, the number of those succeeding in this endeavor were many times smaller than those failing.

In any case, even though the Primeval attribute was an attribute that was of a higher tier than the four foundational elements, it was still something within the reach of many people.

After all, to gain access to the Primeval attribute, one would only need to comprehend the essence of the elements in its entirety.

Once one had achieved that, they would be able to access its quintessence, the origin that gave birth to the elements in the first place.

Of course, to transfer that concept into the world of blacksmithing was easier said than done.

But it's not like Valyr didn't have any ways of making it possible.

"Guess I'll be forging some artifacts here and there while upgrading the True Wyvern Armor," said Valyr to himself as he closed the screen for the meantime.

"Then again, I could use those artifacts as bargaining chips somewhere down the line."

"Or I could sell them at auctions for a pretty hefty price." Valyr shrugged his shoulders. "Who knows."

With Valyr more than satisfied with the changes he had done to the sword Nila had given him, the young man decided to reward himself by getting some well-needed rest on the sofa.

Sinking into the chair once more, he grabbed a few potions out of his spatial bracelet to replenish his reserves.

After that, he grabbed a bit of dried rations, satiating the hunger he had been ignoring for quite some time now.

While doing that, he was reminded of the amount of time it took him to upgrade the blade into what it was today.

"Over two weeks…" muttered Valyr to himself with a slight shudder, imagining a scenario where he forged all of the artifacts he needed in one go.

"Even with the title upgrade, I'd probably take at least two months to forge all of that."

Fortunately, before the young man could fall any deeper into the rabbit hole he had gotten himself into, the woman on the other workshop let out a loud sigh of relief.

"Haah… finally done."

Bringing himself back to reality at those words, Valyr shook his head for a bit before standing up.

Then, with a confident smile on his face, he grabbed the blade he had upgraded from the anvil before making his way to Nila's workshop.

"To be honest, I thought I'd be the one taking a longer time," said the young man with a chuckle, swinging his blade back and forth.

In response, Nila let out a bit of laughter. "Let's just say I've come across a few setbacks during the final steps."

"But I've gotten past all of that."

Whoosh!

Swinging the dagger she had reforged, Nila made Valyr feel as if a hundred blades were on a path to strike every part of his body at once.

With that, the young man swung his blade in a cross pattern, causing a terrifying aura of flames to burst forth as it dispelled the sensation in less than an instant.

"…" Seeing how Valyr's reforged blade had no problems fighting against the mirage of energies she had created, Nila's eyes widen in surprise as she thought back to the possibility she came up with some time ago.

Taking in a deep breath to compose herself, she then asked Valyr if they could use their identification skills on each other's items to see who had reforged the better weapon.

Getting a solemn nod in response, Nila briefly had a wry smile on her face as she gave the two of them a countdown.

"3… 2… 1…"

"[Superior Analysis]."

"[Unveiling Eyes of the Forge]."

Ding!

Ding!

At the very moment the two of them activated their respective identification skills, a plethora of information regarding the other's item appeared before the two of them.

Reading through the handiwork of their opponent, the two of them looked at each other with surprise in their eyes.

However, not long after, a glint of victory appeared in the gaze of one, with a glint of defeat appearing in the other.

"I guess you won," said Nila with a bitter smile.

Closing the screen she had brought up, she then let out a long sigh as she came to terms with the situation.

With her eyes closed for quite some time, she eventually looked back at Valyr, whose face currently showed immense jubilation.

"I've got to say, you've even given a Myth like me a run for their money." Nila chuckled.

"Even with the immense disparity in our skills and stats, you were able to forge something I couldn't."

"And that's already telling me a lot about you."

At those words, the smile on Valyr's face disappeared as he looked at the woman with slight suspicion.

Taking note of his expression, Nila continued smiling.

"Don't worry. It's not like what I found out would change anything for you," said the woman.

"Plus, if you've forgotten, I'm not at Veldanyr at the moment, so there's no point looking at me like that."

It was only at those words did the young man relax, remaining silent as the woman still seemed to have something to say.

"In any case, I'm glad that the current generation has a blacksmith that could perhaps steer Veldanyr back towards the right track."

"And with that, let me announce that this fight is officially over."
