[BONUS]

[CONGRATULATIONS on completing the Mad Doctor's quest!]

'Finally,' Ren mused to himself. They pillaged all there was to pillage in this mansion and killed all the players they came across. It was time for them to claim their rewards, get the hell out of there, and go to the next server.

However, instead of regrouping with the others, he stalled time as Evie was still enjoying herself.

While she was looking around and enjoying the scare the mansion gave, Ren received notifications that they had received the rewards from the Doctor.

It was automatic after the quest duration was over. They didn't need to go see the Doctor again and search wherever she was in the part of the house.

Checking the rewards, they got some magic items like:

❶ Bone Dagger (Rare)

The Bone Dagger has been infused with an enchanted filigree etching that gives the user an additional +20 damage against monsters. But for all other attacks, it's only a normal dagger.

❷ Soul Honey x10 (Very Rare)

The sticky, yellow syrup is made by the mad genius, Doctor Frida. No one knows how it is made. What is known is that the Soul Honey has healing properties. Any wound the player suffers will heal, and all their HP will turn full.

❸ The Command Ring (Very Rare)

Wearing this Ring will let you command a monster within a ten-meter distance.

Up to one monster per day can be controlled.

❹ Steampunk Goggles (Rare)

Brass-ringed steampunk goggles identified with their green lenses enable the wearer to do two things:

● The first is allowing the wearer to see in total darkness.

● The second is allowing the wearer to see what the eyes can't see at first glance

❺ Time Trap Device x5 (Legendary)

● A machine invented by Doctor Frida to stop time. Initially, it was to give her more time to create her masterpiece, but it ended up in the treasury instead.

● Only five of these were invented for the reason that the Doctor gave up when she couldn't stop time to her preferred numbers. It seems that time is beyond her means to control.

● The Time Trap Device is a clockwork mechanism that will do two things: Cover players within a hundred-meter radius and hold them frozen in time for ten seconds, rendering them immune to all attacks, or throw this to your enemies and trap them frozen in time for ten seconds.

❻ [Herbs Book (Very Rare)

This book contained the following recipes:

● Fire Spearmint (Rare)

● Cavern Chives (Uncommon)

● Dragon Weed (Rare)

● Creator's Vine (Very Rare)

● Nettle Mint Tea (Common)

● Sweet Cinnamon (Rare)

● Ocean Catnip (Common)

● Storm Ginger (Uncommon)

● Golden Tea (Very Rare)

● Rosemary Tea (Uncommon)

❼ Tiny Clock Work Dragon (Legendary)

This Clock Work Dragon is Dr. Frida's best creation. The treasure is gold-painted metal forgeries, and the detail is very elaborate that it looks like a real dragon.

When used, this Clockwork Dragon turns into a real electricity-breathing Dragon with an undead body for ten minutes.

Its ATP will follow the highest ATP on the battlefield and doubles it.

There were also candy points and other items, but the seven were the rarest and most important.

There were also Side Quests back in town that would earn them a thousand points each, like:

● Alicia, a monster tamer of a circus, is in town and will pay one thousand candy points for every monster captured.

● Breta, one of the inhabitants of the town, is secretly raising monster plants. She needed a special syrup the Doctor had created called Soul Honey. In exchange for one jars of those, she offers one thousand candy points.

● LaVer, a thief, already had a buyer for the artworks in the Doctor's mansion. He offered five hundred Candy points for every artwork piece.

Since they acquired all the necessary items, it would be a waste if they didn't do it.

There were other quests as well, but Breta and LaVer's quests were the most hassle-free of them all.

Ren was in a good mood, and they had enough time to go through other servers. Four hours hadn't even passed in real-time, so they could enter another server before they were forced to log out from the four-hour real-time limit.

However, his mood plummeted when a notification rang in his ears.

[Sumeri and Nikolai from your group, World Conqueror, have died!]

The next thing Ren heard was the sound of Evie's worried voice.

"What happened?" she asked. She also received the notifications.

"I don't know." Ren wasn't sure either and, thus, decided to contact Sumeri through the app. Communication was still allowed here as long as it was with their fellow members.

The moment that Sumeri picked up, Ren immediately asked.

"What happened?"

Sumeri released a long breath. "Sorry . . . Everything was okay at the beginning, but just as the notification rang in our ears that we completed the quests, Black Lion arrived."

Black Lion?!

There were so many hidden doors and secret passages to the Mad Lab, so it was only natural that there were players who would reach it in the end.

But Black Lion.

Ren really thought that Black Lion would never think of bypassing the mansion so they could get the most points, but . . . they did. And they went directly into the Mad Lab as if they knew where it was.

Regular players should have reach it at least five days in game time. The Mad Lab was located far south in the island and they were brought in by the boat at the very front.

Black Lion could either be lucky enough to find the shortcuts and passages or . . . they found a quest that led them directly in there.

Ren really thought that Black Lion would use most of their time killing a lot of monsters. But it seemed that their plan was to kill the boss of every server as little time as possible.

Could it be . . .

Ever since that, Joker led Black Lion, the group had been erratic, and Ren could no longer read their movements like before.

Was this Joker a beta tester?

But beta testers shouldn't have played this far into the game, and this was an event they were talking about.
