Me, Hydra

I, Hydra, chapter 6.

Furthermore, the Spartans indoctrinated children into believing that Spartans were noble and Shilohs were inferior. Instructors often insulted and whipped Hilo at will in front of the children, and even took them to "kleptocracy", a direct massacre of Hilo. Boys up to the age of 12 were integrated into the juvenile unit. Their life was even harsher, as they were not allowed to wear shoes, only one coat in winter and summer, and slept on straw. The straw was made by hand as they pulled grass from the lake without knives, but by hand.

Looking towards his guards, Hydra narrowed her eyes for no other reason than the large round shield engraved on the hands of the group of guards was none other than a hydra.

"Why is that?"

Hydra turned her attention to the surrogate in front of her, and the surrogate did not hold back.

"The Spartans considered Hydra to be a symbol of strength, fearlessness, and courage, for Hydra had threatened to challenge the gods as Olympus had. However, the weak gods chose to make peace, dividing the land beneath their feet and giving it to Hydra. So they decided to make the Hydra a totem of faith. To show their disdain for the cowardly gods."

Hearing the words of the Substitute, Hydra nodded, no wonder she valued being able to feel the power of faith if there was any as she walked in this city-state.

Because of the cognitive hindrance wrapped around his body, Hydra's five meter height was not noticed by outsiders.

The so-called cognitive hindrance was what the gods used when they entered the earth for entertainment, and because of consuming Kronos' divine power, Hydra had now mastered the technique.

Licking the corners of his mouth, Hydra's face was filled with contemplation.

There was no doubt about the fighting prowess of the Spartans, having been subjected to intense military training from an early age, the Spartan polity was an oligarchy, a form of rule in which a few people held power, originally referring to a regime in which a few people held power, such as the aristocratic regime in the ancient Greek slave state of Athens.

But Sparta's weaknesses were also evident; they did not value literature and art, and required their children to speak in simple, straightforward language and to be brought up to be silent. They spoke like military dictates. More importantly, Sparta was a country where slaves outnumbered its citizens several times over.

However, the potential for Sparta's development was too great.

Looking at the hydra elephant emblem on the Spartan soldier's round shield, Hydra slightly raised the corners of her mouth.

........

Volume 1: Text-9 - King of Sparta

Having been asleep for over a hundred years himself, Hydra knew exactly what that meant.

The theocracy had been established on Mount Olympus, and a hundred years was enough time for many changes to occur, and his own great father, the dragon Typhon, king of all demons, had been slain by Zeus. But because he had sworn an oath to Kaos, the god of chaos, Zeus now hadn't had the guts to touch himself.

The oath lasted for five hundred years, and excluding the accident of a hundred years of slumber, Hydra also had four hundred years of room to develop in peace....

It was enough, and that was enough for Hydra.

His own sibling clan was not only the head beside him, but also the many daemons, including the three Gorgon sisters.

But that was all for later, Hydra removed the cognitive hindrance from her body and appeared five meters tall in the middle of a Spartan city-state.

The sudden appearance surprised many of the Spartans, and soon a group of guards with short spears and round shields appeared.

Seeing this scene Hydra was somewhat surprised, as it had only been about ten minutes since he had appeared, and the appearance of a guard so soon was inevitably surprising for its tight defense as well as its order.

"Giant! Why did you come to Sparta! Strife is never feared here!"

Hearing the guard captain's words, the surrogate fumbled with his body a few times, then produced a token.

"Stand down, soldier. You have before you the great Hydra, Hydra!"

Hearing the surrogate's words, the guard captain narrowed his eyes and looked at Hydra in front of him, especially when his eyes were visibly startled at the sight of the nine heads.

Then he bowed his head and said.

"Excuse me, but I need to consult with our king..."

Just as the surrogate was about to say something, Hydra stopped him.

"Go on, soldier, it's your duty."

At the words, the captain of the guard nodded quietly and wordlessly. Then he whispered to the soldier behind him and left on his own.

A moment later, a man in leather armor with a small sword dangling from his waist walked over.

It was none other than the current King of Sparta.

"Sparta welcomes the arrival of the strong! The great Hydra-Hydra! I, Spartan, admire the courage with which you dared to stand against the gods! Please accept our respects!"

As he said that, the king of Sparta bowed solemnly.

Hearing the words of the current King of Sparta, Leonidas, Hydra narrowed her eyes.

"Why have you inscribed my elephant emblem on the round shield?"

Hearing Hydra's words, Leonidas shook his head.

"Daedalus once said of your idea that the people only know how to believe in the gods and then receive their gifts. And that is really why people are so lazy and even become the playthings of the gods. We believe in you not because you exist, but because your spirit is worthy of worship. Fearlessness, courage, conviction, independence, autonomy, community. All are things worth learning from a Spartan warrior. In other words, cowardly gods are not worthy of our Spartan warrior's faith!"

Heard Leonidas' words and nodded. Then said.

"If that's the case... you should have a Council of Sages here as well?"

Hearing the Hydra's Chinese, Leonidas nodded.

"As you said, the Council of Twelve Wise Men was established seventy years ago, everything was left to the Council of Wise Men when it was inconvenient for the Queen and I. Every one of them is known as a wise man near and far, and thanks to them, Sparta's influence is growing."

Nodding, though Leonidas spoke very nicely, Hydra wasn't satisfied.

Hydra didn't want a nation that shared an independent and autonomous mind, Hydra wanted simply a pawn that couldn't think and could die for itself at any time....

It is said to be democracy, but Hydra knows deep down what so-called democracy really is.

How can we talk about democracy when the people are not yet wise?

As she thought, Hydra compelled.

"You believe in me, don't you?"

"Of course,"

Hydra nodded, then continued.

"Well, from now on, I will officially be the god you believe in, and I will bless your city with good weather and a good harvest. I will make the warriors and children who bless you, and yet they will become more robust. But how about you want me to line your most noble beliefs?"

As she spoke, Hydra secreted compulsive poison in the air.

Hearing Hydra's words, Leonidas subconsciously wanted to refuse.

But the mind-disrupting poison in the air had already taken root in Leonidas's heart.

Looking at the silent and speechless Leonidas in front of him, Hydra nodded her head.

"That's it, you've agreed. Now, take me to your Council of Sages, this development on the path of which you have made a mistake, the so-called Council of Sages, only nine men are needed!"

As he said that, Hydra let out a guttural laugh.

Humans could not defeat something beyond their comprehension, for intelligence was something that could be both distorted and blinded.
