Me, Adventurer! - Undoubled Skills Are Flat Magic

Episode 25 - This Is The City Of Border Sets

The trading city Bordersetz was slightly different from what I had imagined. I imagined a fortified city surrounded by tall walls, but it wasn't such a beautifully built city.

The south side of the city where we arrived is equipped with a simple wooden fence, the inside of which is a fairly spacious field. I haven't planted anything from what I've seen, but it's probably a wheat field. Now at the beginning of the fall, just before the next seed, so nothing has been planted. I might have had some summer vegetables if I'd been here a little earlier.

Beyond the fields, houses are built and stretched from about 500m away. Built of wood and stone, it's like a house in rural Germany or Switzerland. I've never been there.

Most are bungalows, but the more buildings there are on two or three floors to go to the center. Looks like a hill from a distance.

There seems to be no cleavage on the south fence, so we decided to go around to the west. Along the fence is laid a uniform path, but it is a farm road to the extent that there is simply no grass growing.

Heading west down that road, I saw something moving across the city. It's a ship. Apparently, the north side of the city is a river or a sea. The fact that you can still see quite a distance is like a pretty big ship. No, it's a sailboat, so maybe it's looking a little bigger.

I see. Is it a trading city because it has developed as a base for water transport? I'm guessing supplies are circulating to various locations using this as a relay point. There seems to be a lot of people and things I haven't seen. Akan, I'm a little tense!

In contrast to me, the bandits are visibly disappearing. There is only despair. The future is approaching, and I can't help it. I deserve it, though.

Taking him to the west side of the city, the wooden fence turned to stone walls, and to stone walls. The gate, the entrance and exit on the west side, was so robust that it could be said that it was a castle gate. If I had visited from this side, I would have thought of it as a fortified city as I imagined.

The gate is large enough for three large carriages to pass side by side, apart from which, on the left side of the gate, there seems to be a pedestrian access. Both have frequent people and carriages in and out. There are two people on each side of the carriage gate and one on each side of the pedestrian access, a total of six soldiers and a walking post, but they don't seem to be doing anything like an intake inspection.

Two of those soldiers will speak to their companions before heading this way.

"Carriage there, stop!

We stop on the spot. He's got all the leather armor and spears, so he's definitely a soldier. One is as magnificent as the village chief and the other is a young man in his 20s. It is the magnificent one who has spoken up.

"Looks like you're from the south, but what brings you to this city? Besides, what are the men behind you? A slave?"

"We are both here to sell produce from the southern pioneering villages. The men behind us all depend on capturing the bandits who attacked us on the road.

Mr. Vincent responded with a representative. It is best to leave the negotiations to the merchants.

"What, you say you're a bandit!? You guys captured him!?

"Yes, the former adventurer Dantes and his companion, to be exact, though.

"Dantes... no way, that 'whirlwind' lord!?

"Of the Dorton defense battle!? Ho, real!?

Here comes Whirlwind! How much!? Village chief, you're a super celebrity!

When I glanced at the village chief in the carrier, he looked delicate, like he was in trouble.

"Yes, I wonder if I'm sure of that Dantes. The bandit will be handed over to you, so can I ask you in the jar? I'd like to take the inn by sundown.

"Oh, yeah, that's fine. Right, Lord Dantes...

All walked out towards the gate, but the two soldiers who go forward look back from time to time and ask for a flying carriage. "A local who stumbled into a country restaurant when an entertainer came to the store"! Was the analogy a bit tight? I'm sorry.

Subsequent hearings ended fine. Thanks to Vincent, who responded calmly all the time, and the village chief, who said he retired more than 10 years ago but is deeply popular.

According to the soldier's story, there have been several bandit victimizations in the last couple of months, and even the leadership was investigating them. Based on the size of the bandits captured this time, they must be the culprits. He said the lord would give him a thank-you note and reward later. I made a fortune!

I wondered if the bandits handed over would even be taken to the dungeon, and I was pulled straight into town. Anything, they're going to be enslaved in the temple first so they don't run away or rebel. I see, it's a fantasy-specific method, but it's sensible. I can't even throw up a lie in interrogation, and it sounds like it would be easy to investigate the world over here. And the bowl doesn't seem to show up. Don't you have a bowl in the first place?

"Ugh, you're finally done. Then I will unload to a familiar merchant, so excuse me here. This city is boarding this place, so come if you need anything. Bye."

Thus gave a piece of paper to the village chief, and Mr. Vincent went astray into the city.

"We're done here. I'll report to the Alliance and get paid, so say goodbye here. I haven't decided on an inn yet, so tell the guild if you need anything. See you later.

Anna and the others say goodbye here. I miss you a little, but I can't help it. That's how this world is. I can feel the word for a while, no, it makes me feel it. That's why I also find it fat and heavy to connect with people I meet. That is a weight that is never burdensome or offensive. Not an easy, easy, graspless connection, like the internet of a previous life, but a firm, affordable connection. Yeah, let's take care of this encounter.

I waved and dropped everyone off.

"Now, are we going to a commercial guild? First, we need to replace the Demon Stone with gold.

The loot from the bandits will be kept by the army for a period of time as evidence, but the cash will be free for us. So I have some cash on hand. There will be no financial difficulties for a while. But since the redemption of the Demon Stone, which is the main purpose of this one, is so massive, it is Mr. Vincent's expectation that the assessment will probably take an entire day or so. Then you should apply for an assessment as soon as possible. That's why we decided to head out to the commercial guild.

As soon as I crept through the gate, the road changed from dirt to cobblestone. It would mean making the carriage easy to run. The boulder is a trading city. From the gate, the road stretches straight towards the center of the city, with outdoor shops lined both sides of it. In addition to foodstuffs such as skewers and green fruits, the variety varies from dishes, clothing, pots and knives to miscellaneous items that I don't know about, weapons and protective equipment. As many people go there, it is reminiscent of Ueno's candy. The difference is that despite the fact that the outdoor stores are so close together, the width of the carriage is ensured properly. Maybe it stands somewhat like Ginza.

And there's a huge variety of people going out there. Not only are there European-American looking people (me and the village chief included in this), but there are also Indian brown-skinned people and Asian brunette black-eyed people. But...

"Is there anyone with ears... (Bozo).

"Ears?... Oh, the Beast system? Not much in this country. Dorton, or cross the mountain to the Ende Federation to the east, I think you'll be quite there.

I was talking to myself, but the village chief I heard answered me.

Hmm, is that right? I thought you'd be around because it's a trading city. Too bad. Well, you're going to Dorton sooner or later, so there's no need to be in such a hurry.

Whatever it is, it's a commercial guild now, and my buy-in, my emancipation from slavery. Right there then!
