29 – Siblings Reunite Now?

While going to the kids’ room to deliver the dolls, I ran into Pia. Holding out the doll I had in my hands with a happy heart and cautiously starting a conversation, Pia pushed me.

My body was sucked somewhere, and my vision seriously wavered. Stumbling, I exclaimed, “What’s happening?!” Only to be spat out into a pile of trash in mid-air.

When people are too shocked, they can’t articulate proper words—I was exactly in that state.

“Hehehe! Success! It worked!”

Laughter echoed as a primitive-looking man danced and approached me. I looked at the man lying in the trash heap, appearing like a homeless person, and thought, ‘Where am I now?’

In the comedy world, sudden shifts in time and space were common, making it easy to adapt quickly.

“With this guy, it’ll be a masterpiece…!”

The man approached me, grinning widely with several missing teeth. Clicking a broken cane, he looked like a complete lunatic.

“Huh? This person… feels like I’ve seen them somewhere before?”

As I examined the man closely…

Thud!

Something fell on the man’s head. Trash flew backward, including me. Although springs popped out everywhere on the bed, causing no injuries, my mind was in chaos.

“I waited well, as expected.”

A man, dressed in a thin shirt with a floral pattern and pointed shoes, resembling a gangster, casually slipped his hand into his pocket and meticulously stepped on a homeless person.

“Ugh…”

The crushed homeless man spat out foam and trembled as if he were a stunned frog. I stealthily began to rise and move my body backward.

“You brought some pretty nice stuff.”

The man who had been in front of me vanished in an instant, but his voice echoed from behind. Startled, I turned around, and a sharp-looking man with slanted eyes was smirking, grabbing the back of my collar.

“You brought the same item you took before, didn’t you? How about handing it over?”

“Yes, that seems to be the case.”

A beautiful woman with her hair tied high appeared beside the man. In the blink of an eye, I recognized who they were—a realization struck me.

“Sacheonwang Ji Sora and his right-hand, Baekru!”

In my mind, a lightning bolt struck, and my body instantly recoiled.

“Well, we’ve harvested everything we need, so let’s go.”

“What about him?”

The cat-like beauty, Baekru, pointed to the man wriggling in the trash pile.

“Capture him as a slave or use him as material, whatever.”

“Alright, then.”

Baekru disappeared in a flash, and just as quickly, she reappeared next to the homeless man.

Swoosh.

An unpleasant sound emanated from Baekru’s shadow, and dozens of black hands began to emerge.

Squelch!

Dozens of black hands wrapped around the homeless man’s body, swiftly pulling him into the shadows.

“Shall we store ‘that’ too?”

As Baekru’s gaze turned towards me, my body shivered.

“Hey, hey, let’s keep calm.”

Even with a comedic filter, I didn’t want my limbs dismembered or end up inside a monster’s belly, so I looked at Baekru with feigned helplessness.

A face like an abandoned kitten!

Baekru, who had been looking at Ji Sora, glanced at my face and froze.

“Are you really going to put me in such a pitiful place? Seriously?”

It was a gaze full of meaning.

“If you put me in there, I might go crazy. Just take me with you like this.”

“…I’ll put it in a safe place.”

“Is that even possible?”

The cat-eye operation had disastrously failed. Tears welled up at the thought of being swallowed in the shadows.

“Yes, I will transport this cute, little slave properly.”

“Well, if you put it that way.”

Jisoo casually tossed me as if I were nothing.

“Wow!”

I soared through the air and landed on the shadow of Baekru.

Thunk.

With an ominous sound, I was sucked into the shadow.

“Huh?”

Soft.

The first thing I felt was an unbelievably soft and fluffy texture. When I reflexively opened my tightly closed eyes, I saw a sky tinted in pink.

“What, where is this?”

I immediately began to look around.

“Hehe.”

Unicorns with pure white wings walked around, and fluffy creatures rolled here and there. The floor was as white and soft as clouds in children’s imagination.

“Wait, wasn’t the inside of Baekru’s shadow supposed to be a dreadful hell or something?”

I was dumbfounded by the scenery that seemed to shatter the knowledge of the original. I staggered to my feet and started exploring the pink sparkling world.

“Puhaha, yes. This is Baekru’s world where Baekru puts things he likes.”

“I thought it was a hell-like place for sure…”

“Hell? Are you talking about the demon realm? Well, there is such a place. Baekru’s shadow contains two worlds. Maybe what you mentioned is about the other side.”

The unicorn with white wings kindly explained various things.

“By the way, this is the first time a human has come here.”

“The first?”

“Yeah, Baekru loves cute things, but not so much when it comes to humans.”

The unicorn looked at me with large eyes as if finding it fascinating. Then it laughed and said,

“You’re liked because you’re pure.”

“…What does that, mean?”

“Oh, well, I guess young humans wouldn’t know. We unicorns are -…”

“No, no, no! Don’t say it!”

With a heavy sigh, I grabbed my chest and fell to my knees. It was heartwarming to receive help from the unicorn, but it hurt my heart and tears streamed down my face.

“You have a tender heart, don’t you?”

“Yeah… Let’s just leave it at that.”

Sniffling, I cradled the soft and round puppy in my arms. He wagged his tail vigorously and licked my cheek.

At first, I thought the greedy farmer was forcing the animals to become obese, but apparently this puppy was naturally like this.

As I smelled the puppy’s sweet scent, the sky suddenly turned bright pink. From above, a giant hand reached down and grabbed me.

The puppy in my arms fell out and rolled until it bumped into the unicorn’s leg. The unicorn looked down at me and spoke.

“Goodbye, human! Stay pure!”

“Ack! I didn’t want to hear that!”

It’s only natural for a child’s body, so I laughed it off, but even in my past lives, I’ve always been pure. I didn’t want to become pure, but I ended up that way.

“Sniff…”

As tears filled my eyes, I was pulled out of the shadow. Even though the dark hand had come out, it didn’t release its grip on me.

Because of that, I was floating in mid-air, held captive by the black hand. It wasn’t uncomfortable since my lower body was supported.

Woohoo!

Ack!

Kiiieeek!

As soon as I came out, I heard loud shouts, screams, and the cries of monsters. It was so dark that it felt like night, but the torches on the walls provided some light, allowing me to vaguely grasp where I was.

“A prison?”

What filled my sight were rows and rows of prison cells. The inside of the bars was too dark to see anything clearly, but I could faintly make out human figures.

Creak, screech.

Following the unpleasant sound of metal, I turned my gaze and saw a man with a round face and plump body, smiling abjectly as he opened a nearby cell.

“I’ve prepared it here!”

As the man pushed a lantern he held into the cell, a worn-out cloth laid on the cold stone floor came into view. On one side, there was a fortress-like structure that seemed to be used as a toilet, and on the other side, an unsheathed sword rolled around.

“Oh…!”

I gasped, swallowing my breath, as I looked at the person inside the cell. Hair that appeared gray as if it was covered in dust, golden eyes that seemed unfocused, a beautiful face that didn’t get obscured even in the dirty surroundings.

“Iris!”

The protagonist of the original story, Iris, was there.

“What? Do you really know each other?”

Giso whistled lightly and smirked. He alternated his gaze between me and Iris, then nodded his head and said.

“Are the siblings who have parted finally meeting now? This is touching.”

Jisoo murmured to herself, humming a tune.

“Put them together, we’ll use them for an event later.”

“Yes! Understood!”

“Oh, move the room downstairs, it’ll be more fun.”

Jisoo glanced back and said.

“What are you doing? Aren’t you going to put them in?”

“…Yes.”

Baekru briefly paused before putting me inside the cell. Then, Odooki stumbled towards me. He brought a metal collar and placed it around my neck. It was quite heavy, causing my body to sway.

“Don’t close the door. Move right away.”

“Yes! Understood!”

Odooki responded with a determined voice. Jisoo put her hand in her pocket and walked briskly. Baekru glanced at me and followed behind Jisoo.

“Hey, you two, follow me.”
