Despite being only one chain the aura being emitted from the chain was still ominous enough to force his dragon souls to show some hesitation.

But that's all it was, hesitation.

After quickly exchanging a look between them the dragon souls all roared as they rushed towards the one remaining chain and as they did a thick purple mist exploded around.

"Roar!"

Through the mist, the pained roars of the three dragons clearly reached Dante's ear but Dante didn't relent and urged the Dragon souls to carry on their attack regardless.

Faced with the three-pronged attacks of the dragon souls the cursed chain radiated as much power as it possibly could, desperately trying to curse them and drain their blood but at the end of the day The Dragon souls were something similar to spirit entities, how could a blood curse affect them?

"Boom!"

The three crashed into the last remaining chain sending an explosion of purple light all around Dante

The second the chain was destroyed, Dante felt his heart twist as his vision spun.

'Fuck! Am I going to faint here?' thought Dante

But just as his consciousness was slipping away from his grasp, Dante was suddenly shocked back into his senses almost as if nothing had ever happened in the first place.

The only problem was that Dante found his surroundings had greatly changed.

"Where…where on earth is this?" muttered Dante in shock

Dante could see the raging sees of the elemental nexus realm, instead as he looked around all Dante could see was a black void of space

Off in the distance were countless faint flickering lights of silver, that Dante could only assume were stars.

It was a breathtaking sight, and Dante was almost certain he could stare at the sight for hours if there wasn't something even more outrageous than that in front of him.

In the vast floating space in front of him, Dante saw it, a tree.

It was humongous, easily scanning the size of multiple planets as despite being in the endless void of space Dante still struggled to even catch a glimpse of its blindingly emerald leaves.

As Dante saw the tree, he didn't know why but a set of words couldn't help but leave his lips.

"The World Tree."

Dante wasn't sure why, but he was certain that this was the name of the tree in front of him.

But even stranger than knowing the name of the tree was the odd feeling he was getting from it.

Just by looking at it, Dante felt a warm and fuzzy feeling well up in his chest. It was almost

as if he was being hugged by a mother he had not met in years.

But this only caused Dante to feel even more strange.

Mother?

Dante couldn't be certain about his father's preferences but from what little he knew he definitely wasn't the type to get it on with a tree.

But if that was the case, then what was this tree and why did he get such a strange feeling from it.

As Dante's mind was beginning to swirl from all these thoughts a voice suddenly rang out in  his head

"My child…"

Looking around Dante turned to see if anyone was around that could have possibly spoken but all he was greeted with was the giant tree and the vast emptiness of space

Looking at the giant tree once again, a strange light flashed in his eyes

'It can't be possible right?'

"My child you've worked hard."

Faced with the voice in his head once again, Dante couldn't hold back his curiosity any longer

"Who are you?" asked Dante

"Me?" Asked the voice with a light chuckle

"You can just call me the Mother  Tree."

Dante was Confused by the title but he quickly moved his attention to something more important.

"So why did you call me here?" Asked Dante

As Dante asked this he heard a loud, tired sigh in his head

"If possible I wouldn't want to call you, at least not now, but I had to for your own safety."

"My own safety?" Asked Dante, only growing more and more confused with each statement from the mysterious voice.

"Child you may not know it but you have caused a problem. It's not your fault, it's just that you're too capable . You broke the bloodline curse but that is not necessarily a good thing."

"You felt it didn't you? Just how powerful your bloodline is. In the time of the prime of your race, you would be considered only a child or maybe an adolescent at best but now your race would struggle to deal with even low tier beasts. A being that can place such a  curse has power beyond anything you could ever imagine. The moment you broke the bloodline curse that being had detected it. If it wasn't for the fact that I have an innate affinity with you and detected it first and covered up the traces you would have been quickly annihilated."

As Dante heard this a cold sweat broke out on his back.

Just a simple curse that had been passed down for countless generations nearly killed him. If he was to face such a being in person a simple sneeze would probably be enough to end him.

Sending Dante's nervousness the voice quickly spoke.

"Don't fear my child. I have been dealing with that being for millennia now. Although I may not have the confidence to face him, I can at least hide and cover a few things from him.

Breathing an internal sigh of relief, a serious expression on Dante's face as he asked.

"So what am I supposed to do now? Stay hiding forever?"

"No." replied the voice

"I don't know how, but you did the unthinkable. You broke the curse and with that, you have the potential to turn the tides. Now your only duty is to grow quietly and prudently till you can be of use on a battle of this scale."
