I Have a Research Support System

Chapter 346 Why is there such a fierce undergraduate student (for subscription)

On Thursday morning, Mo Wenlin took the samples and went to the Modu high-speed railway station, heading for the capital.

In the past three days, she has prepared three batches of devices and collected the 20 battery devices needed.

Each battery device is packed in a special small black box, and then packed in a sealed plastic bag. Finally, in the glove box, the samples are uniformly placed in a sealed metal container filled with nitrogen.

This kind of metal container is similar to the structure of the glove box transmission cabin. There is a cylindrical stainless steel cabin in the middle, and stainless steel covers with sealing rubber rings on both sides. The cover and the cabin are fixed by clamps to achieve a good air tightness.

Under the protection of three layers, the best device performance can be maintained as much as possible.

Halfway through, a small episode happened.

Mo Wenlin came to the subway station of Line 10 and entered the security check.

The security inspector was a young man in his early 20s. Looking at the images on the computer, he frowned and realized that the matter was not simple, so he intercepted Mo Wenlin's package and asked to open it for inspection.

Finally, a strange metal object was found inside the bag, wrapped in a plastic bag.

"What's this?" the security inspector asked.

"It's a sample container. I want to send it to the capital for testing." Mo Wenlin smiled awkwardly and chose to tell the truth.

"It's not dangerous, is it? Why don't you open it and show it to me." The security inspector asked.

"It's safe, but you can't open it, because it contains nitrogen gas. If you open it and enter oxygen air, the sample will be damaged." Mo Wenlin hurriedly explained.

The security inspector hesitated for a while, waved his hand and said, "Go in."

After the security check at the train station, Mo Wenlin was not stopped.

On the other hand, Han Jiaying was basically busy editing the JACS article, and the only thing missing was Mo Wenlin's third-party inspection report.

So, she went to participate in the department's graduate school summer camp, and visited the magic city with other off-campus graduate students.

Similar to the summer camp that Xu Qiu participated in last year, this year's summer camp also adopted the model of playing on the first day and interviewing on the second day.

It's just that Xu Qiu was too lazy to join in the fun at that time, so he didn't go out to play, but the school girl was different, she liked to be more lively.

At the same time, Xu Qiu received the 6,000 yuan bonus promised by Shencheng Optoelectronics Company.

Considering that the bonus of 6,000 yuan was not too small, Xu Qiu went to talk to Teacher Wei.

Wei Xingsi immediately said: "These money should be used as a team building fund in the group, and you are responsible for controlling it."

Back at 216, Xu Qiu contacted the sales of Shencheng Photoelectric Company, "The money has been received, when will the two BDT monomer materials with fluorine be delivered."

The salesman replied quickly: "Both BDT monomers have been synthesized and are undergoing purity testing. They can be shipped this Friday."

Xu Qiu calculated that he should be able to get two monomers before the holiday, but he had no chance to synthesize two PBDB-T derivative donors, PBDB-TF and PBDB-TSF.

Originally, he planned to try these two monomers to see if he could increase the efficiency of the device, but it was enough to have monomers, and he could synthesize them in the simulation laboratory by himself.

As for the AM article about ITIC that was just accepted, Xu Qiu didn’t plan to share it with the salesperson, and planned to delay it for a while, and then tell the other party when the article was published in electronic form.

Generally, after an article has just been accepted by the editor, other researchers still cannot see it for the time being, because there is a "proof" step after that.

After proofreading, it will take some time before the electronic version will be published.

After the electronic version is published, other researchers can see the article online. Some journals will call this status "just accepted".

After that, if it is not a purely online journal like NC, it will wait for the paper version to be published.

Articles will have official volume, issue and page numbers only after the hard copy is published.

For a popular journal like AM, it may take more than half a year to queue up for official publication.

On Friday, Han Jiaying participated in the summer camp interview.

The teachers in charge of the interview were still those familiar faces, Zhou Mathematics, Yu Qiang...

Wei Xingsi didn't come because he felt that even if he didn't come, Han Jiaying could still pass the interview.

Zhou Mathematics is in charge of hosting: "Student, please introduce yourself briefly."

"My name is Han Jiaying, student number 1xx..., material chemistry major, GPA 3.22, now in Wei Xingsi's research group, mainly engaged in research in the field of organic photovoltaics, and has published four SCI first-authored articles, one JMCA, one ACSAMI, An EES, a CM, and now a JACS article, just received review comments and is being revised..."

After listening to Han Jiaying's "simple" self-introduction, all the teachers were quiet for more than ten seconds...

My first reaction is:

"Why is there another undergraduate student who is so fierce, wait, why did I say again."

"If this kind of student is not accepted, it is simply a loss to the department!"

Now there is also competition among universities, ranging from rankings of schools, such as whether Shanghai University can maintain the third place in the country, down to the ranking of each department and discipline, and what is the "double first-class" now? title.

In these rankings and titles, the main indicators of investigation are scientific research results, in other words, mainly by reading articles.

Associate professors like Yu Qiang, who rely on working years and working as a counselor, do not have as many high-quality articles as Han Jiaying.

Many ordinary professors can go out and blow it up for a year if they can post an EES.

Zhou Mathematics opened his mouth to break the embarrassment: "Hey, this student has such academic achievements, so I won't ask any more questions, just curious, what is your relationship with Xu Qiu?"

Han Jiaying responded with a smile: "Xu Qiu is my senior brother." Speaking of which, when the research group had a year-end dinner, she even toasted Zhou Mathematics, but the other party turned around and forgot her, but it's normal After all, he is the director of the teaching and research section who manages everything every day...

Zhou Mathematics nodded suddenly, and continued to host the interview: "Do the other teachers have any questions?" Although students like Han Jiaying will definitely pass, there is still a process to go.

Yu Qiang answered: "Let me briefly describe the work of one of your representatives."

Han Jiaying made full preparations in advance and responded: "Take that EES article as an example, I synthesized a 3D-PDI non-fullerene acceptor, which broke and maintained the world record of photoelectric conversion efficiency of the PDI series... "

The postgraduate interview was successfully completed. The junior has a lot of academic achievements, and after a weekly group meeting, she performed very well on the spot. She finally got an interview score of 99 points, ranking first in the interview score.

In the afternoon, Mo Wenlin sent a message that NIM's test report had come out.

Xu Qiu guessed that she must have put in some effort. After all, the 1-3 working days in the system are usually 3 working days, and special circumstances will be postponed.

After Wei Xingsi remitted 13,500 yuan to NIM Bank, Mo Wenlin got the test report and invoice, and sent back the photos of Han Jiaying's H22:ITIC system in advance, and Mo Wenlin took the high-speed train back to Shanghai again.

There are four pages of test results, the first two pages are stamped with official seals, which are some general information, and the last two pages are specific test results, including test conditions, I-V curves, expressed in both Chinese and English, very well written Detailed, especially a lot of disclaimers: "This data is only valid for the state of the tested sample at that time", "Our institute is only responsible for the complete certificate stamped with the "National Institute of Metrology Calibration Special Seal"", "This certificate is used in China It is expressed in two languages, English, and the exact meaning shall be in Chinese."

The final test result retains three significant figures, and the efficiency of Xuemei's H22:ITIC system is exactly 10.0%.

Han Jiaying put three or four pages of test result pictures in the "support information" of the JACS article, and the final revised version was uploaded on the website by Teacher Wei.

For the other nine systems, the overall deviations are all within 5%.

Chen Wanqing's PCE10:IEICO-4F system has a detection value higher than the laboratory test value, reaching 12.3%, which is considered to have broken the existing efficiency record in the field of organic photovoltaics, and the senior sister was very happy.

July 26th, Monday, the last group meeting before the holiday.

It's relatively simple, mainly because people are rushing to write articles recently.

Wu Feifei is also a veteran of writing articles. In a week, she basically published the ACSAMI article on two-dimensional perovskite. She is finishing it and plans to drop it today.

Duan Yun's ACSAMI article was dropped last Sunday.

Tian Qing's work couldn't be finished before the holidays. She sent a batch of samples to Feng Shengdong and planned to cooperate in research.

Chen Wanqing's IEICO article has been submitted last Thursday, and the target journal is AM. The highlight is "the first near-infrared non-fullerene acceptor". Her IDT-ICIN system failed in AM before, and this time she killed it again. return.

Based on the two articles of AM and Angew of IT-4F and IT-DM, Xu Qiu submitted them last Friday. The highlight is "receptor unit modification, high efficiency".

Han Jiaying's H43:IT-4F system discovered the phenomenon that "small HOMO energy level difference can also achieve effective charge transport", and planned to hit a wave of NC, so it had to wait for the data from Feng Shengdong, and it was too late to cast before the holiday, and I just have to wait for Xu Qiu's IT-4F article to be published, after all, that article is her preliminary work.

Wu Shengnan's article on the FN-4F system was also submitted last Sunday, the target journal JACS, the highlight is "new donor unit, high efficiency".

At the same time, she synthesized six derivatives of ITIC, showing a drained look.

It is too late to explore the device performance of these materials in reality, but Xu Qiu has obtained the results in the simulation laboratory.

The six non-fullerene acceptors are ITIC-Th, m-ITIC, IDIC, IT-2F, IT-2Cl, IT-M, and PBDB-T and H22 are used as standard samples.

Among them, the first three are optimized for side chains. Both ITIC-Th and m-ITIC can improve the performance of the device, and the device efficiency has improved compared with the initial ITIC, from 10% to 11%. The two articles are preliminary in hand.

IDIC system not only improves the efficiency, but also has a unique phenomenon, FTAZ: IDIC system, about 100 nanometer thin film, the device performance can reach 11.8%, continue to increase the thickness of the effective layer, and prepare a thick film device with a thickness of 300 nanometers , the performance of the device can still be maintained above 10%.

As for the reason for this phenomenon, it must be due to the change of the side chain, but how to analyze it specifically, Xu Qiu currently does not have other experimental data to support it, so it is difficult to draw a conclusion.

But in any case, with the bright spot of "thick film and high efficiency", an article about AM will definitely not be able to run away.

After all, "thick film" is the pain point of organic photovoltaics. For systems like ITIC or traditional PCBM, once a thick film is made, the efficiency will rapidly decrease from 10% to 6%, 4%, or even less than 1%.

The latter three are the optimization of unit A. Among them, the device performance of IT-2F is between ITIC and IT-4F, the same is true for IT-2Cl, and the performance of IT-M is better than ITIC and IT-DM.

To sum up, IT-4F is still strong, IT-DM can be eliminated and replaced by IT-M.

These systems, including the new and the old, Xu Qiu intends to combine the six into one in the future, package them together, and publish an article.

It is not impossible to disassemble and develop separately, but it is too watery, so it is better to post a good article together.

Mo Wenlin H22: The article on the ITIC:PCBM ternary system has basically been written. The highlight is "the first high-efficiency ternary non-fullerene system". I plan to submit it today. The target journal AM is basically relatively stable. .

Xu Qiu guided Mo Wenlin's article writing, and this ternary system was also provided by him, and finally mixed up a joint work that ranked second.
