6 – Selam-1

The moment I first saw Selam, I couldn’t help but be captivated by its grandeur.

If you hadn’t stopped in front of this, you might have thought it was a palace. It was so beautiful, so huge.

“This is…”

Every single stone that made up the place was beautiful. Overwhelming carvings and windows that make you wonder how they were carved.

Its height and size were absolute.

All the guards guarding the place looked at me and bowed their heads.

When I went up the tall stairs, there was a person waiting for me in front of it.

“Welcome.”

He was a handsome boy. He was a bit short, but if you looked closely you could tell he was a man.

“Oh, how are you?”

“You can speak comfortably. All men here are equal.”

I guessed roughly from the time I started to trace the origin of the red carpet, but the clothes he was wearing, the door that was wide open. There was nothing that was not luxurious.

“I’m Adrian. What about you?”

“Evan… Thank you for introducing me. Then, where should we go now?”

“I’ll introduce you slowly. Follow me.”

He entered Selam earlier, with calm steps.

Geometric statues, beautiful gardens, artificial waterfalls and even a zoo where small animals play.

I have never hated the cities of this world. Most of the places I visited were rough and poor spaces, but I still had the feeling that it was a space where people lived.

However, Selam was a completely different space. If outside is a place where people live, this place was just heaven.

Going further inside, a place where men live appeared in earnest.

At first, I thought Adrian was peculiar, but the people inside were not too different in appearance.

Mostly, he was smaller than the average man I thought of, and his face was handsome.

“The place I saw earlier is a zoo, and this is the common living room. You may feel that your personal space is a bit lacking, but you’ll be fine as you live.”

“Oh…”

I didn’t know what I was going to do here, but it seemed like it would be fun to do anything in a place that was as clean as this.

“Oh my, are you ushering in a new guest? You’re doing something fun, Adrian.”

While walking down the hallway, three men appeared in front of me. A smile formed on his lips, but Adrian hardened his face. Something unusual was going around.

“He seems like a nice person… Among the articles my friend knows, there was someone who asked me to introduce him. Would you like me to meet you?”

It was an atmosphere that seemed like they would kick me out at any moment, but what he said was an ordinary blind date.

If you’re a knight in this world, I won’t be disappointed with your appearance. He might be a surprisingly good person.

“I’m sorry, but I have someone in my heart. But, thank you just for the words.”

He gave me a strangely eerie smile, smiled, and asked me again.

“Really? It wouldn’t have been easy to meet a decent woman in a place other than Selam. By any chance, the person I met in the slum…”

“Go there.”

Adrian suddenly intervened and sorted out the situation. I couldn’t come to my senses at the suddenly bloody atmosphere.

“Did you make a new friend? Well, you looked lonely. Would you like to meet up once? I don’t really hate people who have a broken heart.”

Adrian glared at him wordlessly. The man in front of him looked at Adrian as if he was laughing and laughed, then passed by.

When the hallway became quiet again, Adrian weakly apologized to me.

“I’m sorry. You handled it maturely, but I couldn’t.”

“No, what just happened?”

It seems like something is going on in a nerve war somewhere I don’t know about, but I couldn’t notice any of it.

“So he… Was trying to insult you.”

“How?”

“You’re a knight, right? It’s not a baron or a viscount, it’s just a knight. They’re looking down on you. I’ve lowered it to the level of a knight at your level.”

“Ah…”

Like a student who does not understand the concept at all and just memorizes it over and over again, I mechanically hammered the text into my head.

“How’s the article?”

“Because they’re stingy, disrespectful, and only interested in men’s bodies. Not all of them, but most of them are.”

After all, it is different. Regardless of whether Adrian is a good person or a bad person, his perception is a little distorted.

From my standards, it wasn’t a bad thing if the beauty knight was interested in my body.

“That’s why, the response that doesn’t drop in dignity was to give a reasonable excuse like you did and let it pass naturally…”

“But?”

“That bastard insulted something he shouldn’t have done. You… He made fun of you with the wounds you received and the violence the man received.”

I pondered what he said next. A place other than Selam blah blah, a slum blah blah.

“Hey, wait. Is that what I’m thinking?”

When he first brought up the story of the slums, I thought of Dana. After all, it was in her slums that she first met her.

However, if it was a rumor from someone who had nothing to do with him, it didn’t seem like it would spread to such detailed information.

What they value is not the meeting between me and Dana, but the fact that I was almost raped…

“This bastard?”

Suddenly getting angry, I seriously contemplated whether I should chase after him and fight with him right away.

Switching the s*xes, she was no different than insulting a woman who was about to be raped by saying, ‘Did you miss the taste of that rapist’s cock?’

“That, you can’t use harsh words. I sympathize with your feelings, but your dignity…”

“Ehh, well, yes. You can’t have an accident as soon as you enter Selam. But, thank you. You got angry on my behalf.”

I suddenly wanted to make a sudden leap, but there was a reason to get angry.

“First of all, let’s go into your room and talk. There’s still something left to tell you.”

“My room?”

/////

“It’s wide…”

It was a larger room than the infirmary I used to have, which had about 8 beds.

In fact, it was ambiguous to even call it a room, as there was a drawing room, toilet, shower room, and bedroom divided inside. It seemed that any apartment would be smaller than my room.

“Then I’m glad. Actually, there were many people who thought this room was too small.”

Adrian sat down in his chair and spoke carefully.

“So, what must I do to stay here?”

“Work?”

He looked at me with his puzzled eyes, as if he didn’t know why he said that.

“So, what are the people here doing? Playing?”

“Self-care or… People who have hobbies spend their time there. Art, sculpture, crafts, writing, etc. Some choose girls who come to meet men in Selam.”

“Choosing a girl… What do you mean specifically?”

Adrian calmly continued as if nothing was wrong.

“Because you have to be careful when meeting a girl. Of course you have to earn money, and you shouldn’t regret spending it. You have to have the basics in your face.”

Strictly scrutinizing the conditions is not something to be criticized, but I still couldn’t hide a strange feeling of incongruity.

“In terms of personality, there is nothing to say. If you meet a bad person, a man can be threatened at any time. A woman always tries to control a man, and if she meets a man in an unsafe place, she may face a terrible thing. .”

“After that?”

Adrian laughed innocently.

“It’s interesting. You really don’t know anything? How far have you come from?”

“You wouldn’t know even if I told you.”

I shook my head.

“Then, I guess I really don’t know anything and I should tell you… Anyway, when you meet a girl you like that much, you slowly build a relationship.”

“Ah, then you can stay here even after getting married?”

“Marriage?”

Adrian was surprised to hear my words, and carefully traced his memory.

“Your body, your thoughts, even the words you use… Maybe, you might be an ancient person.”

“Ancients?”

“No one uses the word marriage. If you go out and bring up the word marriage, some people may not know what the word means.”

If what he said is true, you’re in luck. If I had said this elsewhere, I might have thought that there was no concept of marriage in this world at all.

“In the past, I heard that there was a time when the ratio of males to females was 1:1. Now, it’s a story passed down as a legend.”

“Then?”

“No man is bound by one woman. There are few men and many women.”

Well, no matter how large Selam was, it was a bit small to say that all the men in the city were in it. No, if half of the population were lounging around in a place like this, society wouldn’t work in the first place.

“I see… After I’m properly adjusted, I can go see Dana.”

Well, I don’t want to suffer because I bought it. As long as you can live comfortably, enjoying it is not necessarily a bad thing.

How well should a person who is new to this world do when he starts working. It was far better to live a comfortable life than to go on a construction site or serve as a soldier.

“Dana?”

Adrian was startled and asked me.

“The gladiator who saved me from the slums. It’s kind of like saying this, but he’s really pretty. I don’t know if he will like me too, but how can we have a conversation while eating a meal…”

“I’ll talk seriously.”

His eyes were cold.

“Don’t do it. It’s funny that I’m giving you this kind of advice today when we first met, but… I sincerely did it for you.”

“Why?”

“Because meeting a gladiator would lower your value.”
