Chapter 13 School is about to start~

Ted bought some undergarments, daily necessities, notebook pens and ink in the Muggle world with pounds sterling.

I also bought some small white mice, locusts and crickets for Ansu, which are his snacks.

In the beginning, Ansu could only eat mealworms, but now the mealworms are no longer enough to fit between the teeth. It has started eating big bugs and mice!

The bird's beak can peck the skull of a small white mouse in one fell swoop, and then tear it into several pieces with its claws to eat.

The big brother of the Corvidae family has amazing fighting power.

Tad returned to Diagon Alley and went to Gringotts with the cash.

"Sir, I want to exchange for Galleons." He raised his head and said to the old goblin behind the tall counter.

The old goblin pushed his glasses indifferently, looked at Ted carefully, "Did you bring the admission letter?"

Ted handed over the acceptance letter.

The old goblin looked at it carefully, and then returned it: "The annual limit is only 50 Galleons at most. How much do you want to exchange?"

"What's the exchange rate, please?" Ted asked.

"Five pounds for a Galleon."

Ted offered £250 to the goblin.

The old goblin was quite surprised, he probably didn't expect that this kid in a second-hand robe could come up with so much money. But after all, he had seen the big world, so he didn't say anything, and exchanged a bag of Galleon for him.

After leaving Gringotts, Ted weighed the purse in his hand with a smile on his face.

It seems that next year there will be no more loans, and I will strive to repay this year's loans.

Debt free and light~

...

The day when Hogwarts starts is getting closer and closer.

Ted had never been so eager to start school.

That anxious feeling is like sitting on the train to go to the girlfriend of a long-distance relationship-can't wait, anxious.

What? I don't have a girlfriend! Oh, forget it, when I didn't say it.

Because the school start date is approaching, the flow of people in Diagon Alley has increased significantly.

Many wizarding parents bring their children to Diagon Alley to shop for school necessities.

Places like Lihen Bookstore and Mrs. Mojin's gown store are constantly crowded almost every day.

Ted's work has also been much busier.

Just a few days before school started, Ted was sorting out books at Lihen Bookstore.

Suddenly, I heard a voice: "Dad! It's that, that singing little magician! And his raven!"

Ted followed the voice and saw a father and daughter walking in from the door of the bookstore, who turned out to be his "regular customers"!

This... I didn't expect London to be so small!

Ted took the initiative to say hello, "Hello, my name is Ted Epifani, and I am a young wizard who will be enrolled this year. Thank you for appreciating my performance."

The man held out his hand: "Hi, I'm Chris Granger, a dentist. You should know what a dentist does, right?"

Granger? ! Unexpectedly, it was one of the Iron Triangle.

Ted shook hands with Mr. Granger without changing his expression, "Oh, of course, but I'd rather not know what a dentist does. I'm most afraid of a dentist." He looked like a little patient about to lie down on a dental chair.

Granger was amused by Ted, and the laughter was very hearty: "Hahaha, haha, cough~ Sorry, I didn't expect the little wizard to be so humorous."

He pointed to the little girl beside him, "This is my daughter, Hermione Granger, who is also a little wizard who will be enrolled this year. She was clamoring to buy a few more books, so we came again."

Ted: I guessed it. When I saw the little rabbit teeth, I should have thought it belonged to Miss Beaver!

Hermione wasn't black, and the world wasn't shifted beyond acceptance.

"Hello, Hermione, you can tell me what books you need. I work part-time here, so I can help you find..." he said.

Hermione admired this boy who could sing, play the guitar, juggle, and have an obedient raven. After learning that Ted used the two months before school to work in Diagon Alley, Learning magic, it is simply admiration, eyes widened.

Work in the magic shop in Diagon Alley! She looked at Mr. Granger.

Mr. Granger quickly waved his hand: "Oh, no. Hermione, think about Mom, she won't agree."

He and Mrs. Granger were very reluctant to let their daughter go to a boarding school for magic. How could it be possible for Hermione to use the short reunion time before school to work.

The reason why I didn't say it was because I was afraid of irritating Ted.

Unlike Hermione, Mr. Granger was more concerned about Ted's orphan status.

Such independence and diligence may be inseparable from this aspect.

Such a child is really distressing and admirable.

Ted greeted the clerk and wanted to be a guide for "friends" to visit Diagon Alley.

Ted introduced the products and styles of each store to the father and daughter, and told some anecdotes.

Mr. Granger listened with gusto, while Hermione asked a lot of questions about Ted's self-taught magic.

She had found someone who could communicate magic.

"This is Ziggs Ziggs pharmacy, and the potion materials for the prescription are genuine. Mr. Ziggs is a good man, and he gave me my first part-time job..."

"If one day you want to have a pet, Fantastic Beasts Pet Shop is the best place to go. The animals here are all magical creatures. They need to be stronger, smarter, and good companions. I'm here to help clean up , take care of their diet..."

In the end, Mr. Granger decided to buy Hermione an owl.

Originally, Hermione didn't want to buy an owl. She felt that taking care of an owl might affect her study time.

But Ted told her about the owl--in fact, the owl is so easy that it doesn't need to be taken care of at all.

And Hermione wants to write to Ted to exchange and learn magic after returning home, and she can't do without an owl.

Mr. Granger hopes that after school, his daughter can often write letters to his family.

Finally, in the Yila Owl Shop, Hermione chose a long-eared owl with two "ears" on its head and beautiful patterns on its body, and named it Magic, which means "magic".

In Great Britain, the income of dentists is very high, much higher than that of ordinary doctors.

Given the sweetness of the British people, dentists are especially in demand.

The Grangers are both dentists and have their own dental practice. Those lonely pure-blood families in the wizarding world may not be as rich as Hermione's family.

Ted ended up having a drink with the Grangers at the Leaky Cauldron.

Of course, he and Hermione drank butterbeer. Granger was also curious about butterbeer because he had to drive, so he also had a "children's drink". Can't say enough about it.

...

Time passed quickly, and the last few days slipped away from my fingers.

In the past few days, Ted quit his part-time job and studied magic in his small utility room at the Leaky Cauldron with peace of mind.

Just after Granger and his daughter were sent away, Ted's research on psychic powers made some progress.

He has a special "ability"!

Everyone should have had that experience, that is, when doing something you particularly like, you will be particularly concentrated, without distractions, and don't want to be disturbed.

Forget time, forget hunger and thirst, forget sorrow, completely immerse yourself in it, and enter a state of selflessness.

There will be a high degree of excitement and fulfillment in this process.

For example, when I am playing a game I particularly like, I am often in a trance for several hours.

Ted has mastered this mental state that Muggle psychologists call "flow".

He was able to use flow to fully immerse himself in learning and research, a powerful positive feedback that greatly improved learning efficiency.

Of course, this kind of behavior will consume mental energy, and Ted generally does not exceed four hours a day, so as not to hurt himself.

Other than that, it was communicating with Hermione.

Hermione's owl Magic is not a dry meal, almost a day back and forth.

Ted fully understands Hermione's curiosity and excitement about the wizarding world.

He will tell Hermione some living habits and anecdotes that he encountered in Diagon Alley that are different from Muggles, and explain to her some of his understanding of magic.

In a blink of an eye, it was already the end of August.

Anzu can already fly very high and far, it has grown up. He even rushed to deliver a letter to Hermione.

Ted: "Can you find Hermione? Can you really do it? It's not close."

Ansu held his head high, opened his beak, flapped his wings in a gesture of slapping his chest, and shouted, "Small things! Small things! Quack~"

It has learned some words.

Ted tied the letter to its leg and watched it fly away.

In the letter, he made an appointment with Hermione to meet on the train tomorrow.

Tomorrow is September 1st, the day Hogwarts starts school!

It's finally here!
