Hogwarts Card Drawer

Chapter 79 Dilemma

Chronos could not sleep for hours that night. He tossed and turned, watching the snowflakes drift past the castle windows through the gaps around the bed, feeling bewildered.

He did see Mr. Malfoy put the diary in Ginny's books at Lihen Bookstore that day, but Kronos didn't find the diary in the group of books. So it's very likely that the diary was scattered in the bookstore during the fight.

And besides me and the Malfoy family, the only people in the bookstore that day were the Weasley family, Harry and Hermione's family. That's unlikely if it's Ron, who spends every day with Harry. There was such a diary that Harry couldn't fail to notice.

The suspicion of Gilderoy Lockhart is also much smaller. Kronos has been staring at him in today's duel club, and he also behaved normally and did not make any strange moves.

"Could it be Hermione?" Chronos only had the last name left in his mind. It was still possible if it was really Hermione, who wrote in his diary what Draco called him a Mudblood. Just relying on Voldemort's demagogic words, Hermione couldn't resist at all. After all, Hermione couldn't even tell if Lockhart was a liar.

"What about Owen Caldwell?" Kronos recalled the name of the first victim again. And why would Hermione attack him? Hermione has no reason to attack a wizard whose status is similar to her own and has no contradiction!

"The only thing they have in common is that they are both students of my magic circle class." Thinking of this, Kronos decided that he should ask Hermione tomorrow. It's useless to just guess here.

However, the next morning, the snow that had begun to fall during the night turned into a violent snowstorm. So the last herbal medicine class of this semester was also cancelled. Professor Sprout put socks and scarves on the Mandrakes and treated them like newborn babies. This is an important job, and she is not at ease entrusting it to others. Now, the most important thing is to let the Mandrake grow quickly and save the petrified classmates.

Chronos saw the Malfoys' carriage at the gates of Hogwarts Castle. Four flying horses were standing there kicking the snow with their front hooves.

Kronos immediately strode into the castle, stepped up the stairs, and turned to another corridor. It was extremely dim here, a pane of the window was loose, and a gust of wind blew in, extinguishing the torch. Then Kronos turned a corner at the end of the corridor, and finally found what he was looking for in front of a huge stone monster.

"Hey! Dobby!" Kronos called softly.

Dobby, who was originally rich in front of the stone monster, was startled by the sudden sound. When he saw clearly that the person who saw him was Kronos, his whole body began to tremble.

"Come here." Kronos waved his hand impatiently, and Dobby walked slower than Neville's toad.

"Why haven't you come to me until now? Did you find the black diary I told you to find from Lockhart?" Kronos asked questions like a cannonball.

"Dobby didn't... Dobby couldn't leave in front of the master." Dobby seemed to be particularly afraid of Chronos, and Chronos hasn't done anything to him yet! His big eyes were already full of tears.

Kronos rolled his eyes and thought, "This is not the time for you to leave Malfoy Manor for Harry Potter at will."

But now Chronos doesn't bother to care about so many details. "So did you go to Lockhart's to find the black diary?" he asked.

"Go, Dobby went. But Dobby couldn't find it, there was nothing there. There was nothing." Dobby's voice was trembling, and after he finished speaking, tears flowed down one drop after another.

Kronos glanced at him with some annoyance, and he walked up to the huge ugly stone monster.

"Iced lemon juice?" Kronos tentatively said a password. The monster suddenly came alive and jumped aside, the wall behind it cracked in two. Behind the wall is a spiral staircase that is slowly moving upwards, like an escalator. Kronos stepped up with one foot, and there was a bang behind him, and the wall closed again. They spun higher and higher, higher and higher, until at last a shiny wooden door appeared in front of Kronos, with a brass knocker in the shape of a griffin's head.

As soon as Kronos put his ear on it, he heard the person inside say, "Since you're here, come in! Kronos."

"Damn it!" Kronos just complained, and the door was opened.

There were three people in Dumbledore's office, Dumbledore sitting on a chair behind the desk, Mr Malfoy standing in front of him with an angry face, and Minister Fudge with a gentle smile on his face.

"Sit wherever you want!" Dumbledore smiled and glanced at Chronos.

"Where can I sit here?" Chronos smiled wryly, there was no other place to rest in the room except Dumbledore's chair. Otherwise our Secretary Fudge wouldn't be standing.

Chronos began to look at Dumbledore's office, which was a large and beautiful square room, and there were some very interesting little noises from time to time. On tables with imitation hammer-shaped feet, oddly shaped pieces of silverware swirled and gave off wispy wisps of smoke. The walls are full of portraits of former headmasters, men and women, and everyone looks elegant. Behind a large, claw-legged table was a shelf with a battered old Sorting Hat on it.

"I don't have time to chat with you, Dumbledore. I need an explanation, a reasonable explanation." Mr. Malfoy no longer had the calm demeanor of the past, replaced by a look of anger. One can imagine how angry he would be if his only son was petrified.

"Calm down, Lucius." Dumbledore reassured him. "Draco was just petrified, and our herbalism teacher is already speeding up the growth of the mandrake."

"Calm?" Mr. Malfoy's voice suddenly rose an octave. "How calm do you tell me to be? I didn't dare to tell Narcissa about it. If he didn't see Draco before the holiday, she would definitely go crazy .”

Hearing this, Chronos expressed his praise. During last summer vacation, Chronos could feel Aunt Narcissa's doting on Draco. If she really knew about this, she might kill Hogwarts the next day.
