Hogwarts Card Drawer

Chapter 272 Reversal

Hogwarts Card Drawer

"Do you really think so?" Daphne looked at Chronos suspiciously.

"Of course." Kronos said, "First of all, the Death Eaters have just escaped from Azkaban. Although the number of dementors has decreased. But I don't think they will be able to restore their original magic power when they come out. .”

"Besides, Potter can't speak, and his brain has been damaged. Is it interesting to take revenge on such a person?" Kronos bowed his head and took another big mouthful of oatmeal.

"Well, what you said is also possible." Daphne nodded suspiciously. The spoon she raised in her hand had been suspended in mid-air for a long time, and Kronos felt so uncomfortable watching it.

Draco was late when they were about to finish their breakfast.

"Hurry up, class will start soon." Kronos said intimately.

"Okay, okay." Draco wolfed down his mouth full of food, "I did my homework too late last night." He muttered.

The first class on Thursday morning was Care of Fantastic Beasts, after they waited for Draco to eat a quick breakfast. Only then did I walk out of the auditorium, out the front door, down the steps, and into the wet grounds.

When they arrived at the door of Hagrid's hut, there were already many Gryffindor students standing there. The Harry trio are always at the forefront.

The students were not so quiet at the moment, they were all whispering to each other.

"What are they talking about?" Kronos seemed to be talking to himself, but also seemed to be asking Draco on the side.

"I don't know. But it seems that Hagrid is about to be investigated." Draco also answered the question about Chronos very cooperatively.

"Huh?" Kronos frowned subconsciously, "Why are you investigating Hagrid again?" In the next few days, the news of Hagrid being investigated has spread throughout the school.

Surprisingly for Chronos, few people expressed displeasure about the time, and in fact some, notably Parvati and Lavender, seemed extremely happy about it.

As for the Ministry of Magic worker who died at St. Mungo's Hospital, as Chronos said, no one cared. Except Harry, Ron and Hermione of course. They seem to be the only ones who know and care.

There was only one topic in the corridors now: ten escaped Death Eaters, whose stories had been spread throughout the school by those who had read the papers. Rumor has it that some of them have settled down in Hogsmeade, hiding in the Shrieking Shack, and are preparing to attack Hogwarts, just as Sirius Black once did.

Students from magical families were as frightened when they heard the names of these Death Eaters as they were about Voldemort. The crimes committed by those men during Voldemort's reign of terror have been brought into legend.

Some of the students at Hogwarts who were connected to the victims now get pointed at as they walk the corridors: Susan Burns, whose uncle, aunt and cousin all died in one of the Hand of the Death Eaters, said tragically to Harry during Herbalism class that now she knew how Harry felt:

"I don't know how you can stand it—it's horrible!" she said bluntly, adding so much dragon dung to her saplings that she writhed and squeaked uncomfortably with them.

True, Harry was again the target of muttering and pointing in the corridors these days, but he noticed that the voices seemed slightly different than usual.

This time it sounded more curious than hostile, and once or twice he even overheard conversations expressing displeasure at the Daily Prophet's lack of details about how and why the ten Death Eaters had escaped.

In their confusion and fear, these doubts seemed to be explained by another explanation: that was what Harry and Dumbledore had been insisting on for the past year.

It's not just the attitudes of the students that have changed. Two or three teachers also started talking in low tones and nervously in the hallway, and stopped talking quickly when they saw students approaching.

"They obviously can't talk freely in the teachers' lounge,

whispered Hermione one day when Harry, Ron and Hermione saw Professors McGonagall, Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout gathered outside the spelling classroom. "There's Umbridge . "

"Maybe they know something new?" said Ron, turning to look at the three teachers.

"Even if there was, we wouldn't know, would we?" Harry said angrily. "What time is it after the decree of so-and-so?" He was referring to a notice that appeared on the school bulletin board the day after the Azkaban escape:

"Orders from the Hogwarts Senior Investigator

Teachers are prohibited from providing students with any information not related to teaching content

The above is Education Act No. 26"

This latest decree was passed around as a joke among the students. Lee Jordan pointed out to Umbridge that under the new law she had to keep Fred and George from playing with explosives in the back of the classroom.

It was assumed that the breakout from Azkaban might make Umbridge a little bit more reticent, that she might feel uneasy about the catastrophe that was happening right under her beloved Fudge's nose.

The only consequence, however, seems to be her more fanatical attempt to bring all aspects of Hogwarts life under her control. She seemed to have decided that there would be a dismissal soon, and the only question was who would go first, Professor Traunie or Hagrid.

But Chronos knew the answer early on.

While Kronos was in detention with Professor Snape that day, somewhere above their heads, a woman started screaming again. Snape strode towards the door, wand in hand, and rushed out quickly. Kronos hesitated for a moment, then followed.

The screams did indeed come from the vestibule, and grew louder as Kronos ran up the stone steps of the dungeon.

When he got to the top, he found the foyer full of people, all students from supper who had come out to see what was going on, and others crowded on the marble stairs.

Kronos stepped out of the way made by a few tall Slytherin students, and saw everyone gathered in a circle. Some people looked very shocked, while others were frightened. . Professor McGonagall stood across from Chronos, looking uncomfortable.

Professor Traunie stood in the middle of the hall with her wand in one hand and an empty wine bottle in the other, looking absolutely insane. Her hair was a mess, her glasses had slipped to one side, and one eye looked bigger than the other. Her shawl and silk scarf dragged from her shoulders to the floor, giving the impression of total disintegration.

Two boxes lay on the ground next to her, one was upside down and appeared to have been thrown from a staircase. Professor Trauni's eyes were staring, obviously frightened. There was something by the stairs, but Chronos couldn't see it clearly.
