From Azkaban To Hogwarts

Chapter 32 Hagrid: Four Second Belts and Two Kings

The next morning, William got up early to tidy up his appearance and put on formal clothes. He completely kicked out the tiredness caused by sitting at home and studying alone, and prepared to visit Hogwarts.

He had asked carefully in his letter before that when most wizards visit Hogwarts, they first go to Hogsmeade Village next to Hogwarts through Apparition, Floo powder, etc., and then transfer to Hogwart. Currently, only students and some professors take the 9 3/4 train directly to the school.

Since William had never been to Hogsmeade, and he was unwilling to use the apparation he had just mastered to travel that far away, he simply chose Floo.

"Old Tom, are you a Floo fan here?"

William held a small basin by the fireplace and asked Old Tom who was busy wiping wine glasses at the bar.

"Of course, want to go out?"

"Well, let's go to Hogwarts to take care of things."

"Should I prepare lunch for you?"

"I think Hogwarts should have a cafeteria - how was the food in the cafeteria when you were at school?"

"It's pretty good, but it's been a long, long time since I went to Hogwarts, and the principals have changed several times."

While old Tom spoke, William lit a magic flame in the stove.

"Well, I hope the Hogwarts kitchen hasn't burned down and still tastes as good as before."

William shrugged, but Old Tom didn't know what made him laugh. He laughed uncontrollably and didn't stop for a while.

"Have a nice trip then."

"I think so too. This is my first time going to Hogwarts -"

William threw a handful of Floo powder into the flames, called Hogsmeade, and took a giant step toward the flames.

Weird pressure came from all around, and William felt like he was spinning wildly - he might as well have spent more money to take the Knight Bus - the moment this thought came to his mind, the spinning speed accelerated, and the green color in front of him The flames rotated rapidly with him, and at the outermost end of the flame vortex, countless fireplaces appeared in front of his eyes.

Before William could help but vomit, the rotation finally stopped. He was directly ejected by the flames into the fireplace mouth where it finally stopped, and then he quickly fell towards the ground.

He quickly crossed his arms in front of his face as quickly as possible to protect himself on the last leg.

He quickly stood up, took out his wand, and after confirming the surrounding environment, William began to use the wand to deal with the dust on his body.

'You should be able to adjust your position before popping out so that you don't fall down as soon as you pop out. ’

As William walked towards the fireplace, he reviewed his recent trip - but he quickly denied what he had just thought.

The comfort level of Floo powder travel is far worse than that of Apparation. If it weren't for the fact that Apparition could not go to places he had never been, he would rather not use Floo powder, a torture artifact, for the rest of his life.

As soon as he stepped out of the fireplace, he felt that he had gone to the right place.

Although I have never been to this village called Hogsmeade, this is probably the only place that can open so many shops in one village.

Just around the public fireplace where William walked out, there were four or five places with various signboards - I don't know whether it was the students' shopping needs that led the villagers to open these shops, or whether it was because of the students' strong purchasing power. The shops that opened one after another formed a village.

Before William could take a good look at the scenery of Hogsmeade village, a figure who was taller than an ordinary person over there waved his hand in this direction.

"Is it Professor William?"

"It's me. Thank you for coming to pick me up, Hagrid."

William had already sent a letter to tell him his itinerary. Hogwarts would naturally not let a professor who had never been to Hogwarts come to the school on his own - what if the new professor was a wanderlust? manage?

In particular, the subject of wizard self-defense magic learning is inherently uncertain. If a record-breaking professor is forced to leave his post this year without coming to school, then next year it is estimated that Azkaban will not be able to recruit professors.

"It doesn't matter to me. I was just coming here to collect the rent, so I took over the task with Professor McGonagall." Hagrid looked at William with a smile and said something that shocked William.

"Collect the rent?"

"Yes, the entire land in Hogsmeade belongs to Hogwarts. From the day the castle was built, this area has been the property of the school (note 1). Dumbledore trusts me, so this job is handed over to Got me."

A village as private property - William gasped.

However, considering that this school does not charge tuition fees, William was indifferent. The rent in the village would only be enough for the operation of the entire school. It is estimated that the Ministry of Magic has to allocate a lot of funds to the school every year (Note 2 ).

Perhaps because there were no outsiders around, William, the new professor, was taken for granted by Hagrid as one of his own. Hagrid, who had been able to hold back his words in the bar, became extremely talkative at this moment.

"Ever since I started serving Hogwarts, I have been collecting the rent here. In all these years, there has not been a single loophole."

"That's a wonderful virtue."

William admired sincerely.

Judging from Hagrid's clothes, he knew that Hagrid didn't have much money, and it was really rare for him to be responsible for collecting rent for so many years without any problems.

Especially when William came to a place like Azkaban where scum gathered, this kind of virtue could be regarded as a saint there.

Probably because William's attitude was too sincere, Hagrid couldn't help but smile happily, so he simply threw a king down.

"What is this money? Dumbledore trusts me and will leave important things to me. For example, last year, I helped Dumbledore bring a magic stone from Gringotts to Hogwarts."

Note 1: There may be controversy, because in the sixth part, there is a statement about the twin brothers trying to buy the store - but I think they should sublet the store. After all, it is a hot shop on the Hogwarts campus. The twins opened The store has been open for less than a year, and it is almost impossible to buy a shop house.

The village was built at the same time as the school, and the subsequent construction of the secret tunnel also proved in disguise that it should be the school's property.

Note 2: Hogwarts does not charge any tuition fees, and William himself does not know the existence of the school board.

But the daily costs of Hogwarts are huge, including the cost of repairing the castle, the depreciation and loss of teaching aids and seats, the maintenance costs of various antiques in the castle including armors, students’ meals and a full set of bedding for new students, professors’ salaries, additional teaching Facilities such as herbal greenhouses, purchasing and raising of rare plants and animals.

It is estimated that the school board is the one who has the right to speak for providing funds for the school, and considering the Ministry of Magic's control over the school, it is estimated that the Ministry of Magic also bears a large part of the funds.
