Episode 18: Fighting Between Nobles

One carriage leaves Wang Du.

"Damn...... why do I have to leave King's Capital so I can escape!?

What I remember is what happened last night when I was treated humiliated.

An adventurous pair attacked the mansion. Fortunately, no one was injured, but it was before noon the following day when Associate Baron Boban woke up paralyzed.

I guess I have never been so humiliated before because I am a nobleman.

"Lick me because I'm an associate baron......! We need to use the power of the Boban family to find them and make sure they get paid......!

Angry Burning Boban bites his thumbnail.

I was about to get in the carriage and get out of the King's Capital and back into my own territory because the minister told me to get out of the King's Capital. The mansion was raided and the raiders were taken away. If such a story becomes a rumor about Wang Du, the family name will be scratched. They told me I should stay away from the King's Capital until the rumors subsided.

Associate Baron Boban hated his territory.

It's not developing like a king's capital, just a small town with hundreds of people living in it. Due to the mistaken belief that he was a born nobleman, he thought about spending all his time in Wang Du since he was a child who learned how busy Wang Du was.

I even sent out an assassination request to make the Flebble family scratch their shame for it. The assassin could have been hired cheaply thanks to his late father's handover, and there should have been nothing wrong with the adventurer who hired him as a superficial killer because he wasn't going to give him a reward or anything from the start.

That was the only day yesterday that everything collapsed.

"Damn!

Don, and when you hit the carriage, the carriage suddenly stops.

"Hey, what!?

No way, because of the beating I did!?

I thought so, but I can speak from a soldier who was escorting me by the carriage.

Oh, my God, sir.

"What's the matter with you?

"That's..."

I don't know how the escort explains it, and I get stuck in words.

"Yeah, shut up!

Get out of the carriage and see what you have for yourself.

"Huh...?

In the direction of the carriage, there were dozens of fully armed soldiers.

"No way, a bandit!?

"No, you don't. The armor worn by the soldiers is engraved with the crest of the Flebble family. They are soldiers of the Viscount Flebble family."

"What!?

He was sweating cold at the appearance of someone he had not expected at all.

The Viscount Flebble family was face-to-face at the funeral of the former Viscount, which was three days ago, but now it's a bad time to face each other.

A man in an intelligent appearance with glasses with gray hair all-back from among soldiers while thinking about how to escape - Viscount Flebble appears.

"Long time no see, Associate Baron Boban."

"This is Viscount Flebble. What's going on here?

Associate Baron Boban approaches Viscount Flebble as he rubs his hands.

There is a difference in grid between the Associate Baron and the Viscount. Even if he's an abominable opponent, he has to go badly. That was more unpleasant for Associate Baron Boban than anything else.

"Let me just go straight to the point. The other day, you attended my father's funeral, but we found the man who killed my father"

"That was good. You finally caught that adventurer, too."

"Adventurer? Do you know anything about the killer?

"Yes. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help, and I was gathering information about the killer. Apparently, that effort didn't work either."

"What are you talking about? The killer was an assassin hired by nobles, not adventurers. The person we thought was the killer seemed completely irrelevant"

"Huh...?

Associate Baron Boban, who asked about the captured killer, got stuck in words again.

Because Viscount Flebble is talking about Davis, the assassin who really made the assassination happen, not the apparent killer he prepared.

"An adventurer caught me earlier this morning. He brought me an assassin. And he was apparently hired by the Boban family."

"Oh, that's..."

So, finally, Associate Baron Boban realized.

To the fact that there is no familiarity in the eyes of Viscount Flebble looking at himself, only cold anger dwells.

"Isn't that some kind of mistake? I don't remember anything at all."

"Really? So how do you explain this he had?

"Oh, that's...!

Associate Baron Boban hurries when he sees the jewels Viscount Flebble has removed from his nostalgia.

It was a jewel given by His Majesty the King, who the Viscount of Flebble had carried with him without letting go of his skin, which Davis had taken from the adventurer, but what he continued to hold was a jewel he had left with Mazui and Davis.

"This is the jewel that my father, who was murdered, stole. This is more proof than anything that the assassin Davis is the killer. And he confessed to being hired by you."

"It's a mistake of some sort! No, it could be someone's conspiracy!

"Unfortunately, there's no such thing as a conspiracy to discredit you as an associate baron with no great power. If you're a proud nobleman, you should admit it."

"Admit it, nothing. I know nothing."

"So how about this?

When you miss a gem, now take out an object shaped like an egg that fits in your palm.

"You would know a lot about magic tools (magic items) if you were a nobleman too, but these are magic tools that can keep sounds sealed inside. Even though it's a magic tool, it's a substitute for the King's Capital if you can even pay for it."

Still, a few pieces in gold coins are as tight as they need to be. I couldn't afford to buy those magic tools at the Boban family.

The problem is that I don't know why that magic tool comes out here.

When Viscount Flebble opens the center of the magic tool like it cracks an egg, the sound that was sealed inside is released and heard by everyone who was nearby.

"The killer who murdered the former Viscount Flebble, but you're pretty sure it was Davis, the assassin who's rolling there?

"Oh, yeah."

"Who hired Davis, the assassin, to instruct him to murder the former Viscount of Flebble?

'... it's me'

Associate Baron Boban remembered the conversation played.

"This is what the adventurer who brought me the assassin Davis gave me. It seems to me that the person you're talking to is your voice."

"This is… yes, something the adventurer was threatened with and forced to say"

"Well, you can't just admit it."

"Of course!

Already, Viscount Flebble made up his mind.

"Okay. But it just seems to me that you're the one who hired the assassin who killed my father."

"Heh...?

"You've been harassed and made to panic. [M] There was no conclusive evidence of this, and I was reluctant because it was a neighborhood, but this is just too much to do. Let's buy a sold fight."

"Uh... what are you talking about!? As I was saying, the assassin and I are irrelevant."

"Then give me proof that it's irrelevant. This one has proof that you're related. I'll only wait three days, so give me proof that you're irrelevant. Then I'll apologize for this mistake."

Viscount Flebble returns to his murderous soldier.

I can't help but think the soldiers are killing me. For them, it's because they're killing the person they have to protect. We wanted to kill whoever we killed for a crappy reason at the same time as we regretted our helplessness, even now.

"Come on, you better get back in there and get ready for war."

War - for the Lords if they fight each other, it's no different than war.

"Please wait! What do you want us to do!

You can't let that happen. Soldiers speak up.

"There's no way we can beat the Flebbles"

The territorial size is too different for the Viscount and the Associate Baron.

If you are a Viscount, there are several small settlements near the city, which is your territory to pay for.

On the other hand, in the Associate Baron, they are only given a small town.

Even if it is a force that can be mobilized in case, the Viscount would be able to gather the men's hands and reach hundreds, but in the Associate Baron's it would be better to reach a hundred.

"I told you. You're the one who set up the fight first. This one just bought a sold fight. The Lord will be most responsible, so if you give him the Lord's neck, he may help you."

When the soldiers who were in the lead answer, the Viscounts of Flebble return to their territory.

Later, only the dripping Associate Baron Boban was left behind.

"What will you do, sir?

"What do we do!? It's settled! We'll go home and get ready for war."

Evidence that Davis and himself are irrelevant. There is no such thing.

There was no such thing as a contract to prove as much as possible so that there was no suspicion of involvement, so there was no evidence that it was irrelevant or anything to the contrary.

He had no choice but to fight than to be convinced he was employed by the Boban family.

"Please wait. It's impossible to win on our scale. We should be looking at surrender to protect the people here."

"Surrender!? Do you know what happens to a surrendered aristocrat!?

Surrender and the lords take full responsibility will avert the war and help the inhabitants, but the surrendered lords will be deprived of their territory and even deprived of their aristocracy.

I couldn't bear to lose even my nobility.

"You guys just have to fight anyway!

That's what I'm saying. Associate Baron Boban trying to get back to the carriage.

The moment I saw him, the soldiers employed by the Beauban family were determined.

"Damn!"

Associate Baron Boban rolls down the ground groaning at the pain he suddenly ran on his back. There were traces of blood on the rolling ground, and when I reached for my back, my palms had a stick of blood on them.

"Hih!"

"It's already a chorizo to follow you."

"Kisama... you point your sword at me, the nobleman!

"Yeah, if you're just offering me one neck and hundreds of lives are saved, I'm offering your neck to the Flebbles, even if I'm guilty of killing a lord."

"Ya, stop it!

No one stopped listening to Associate Baron Boban's desperate voice.

"You're gonna reflect in the afterlife."

A soldier's sword slashes the head off Associate Baron Boban.

"I'll take this guy's body to Viscount Flebble later. Even if they say something about killing a lord, it's all my fault."

All of the soldiers have served since the time the Boban family was a knight jazz family, nodding to old and dependable soldiers.
