Dungeon Master Makeup Money

Episode 20: Grandfather

Deacon brought me here to entertain guests.

Once inside, there was a long table, with a fireplace in the back. And there was an old man with gray hair sitting in the upper seat.

"Dear Aaron, I have brought you the adventurer"

"Let me through."

A low voice echoes.

When the butler prompted me, my mother, Chris, to the left of the former lord, Sylvia and the others sat in the chair on the right.

My grandfather looked at the person who came into the room - especially to stare at my mother.

"I should have invited an adventurer who crusaded Silverfang, but why are you here?

"My own son followed me worried. Then I guess not?

"What...?

Grandfather - Mr. Aaron will look at me.

Even though there have been a lot of things in the past, these two people don't seem to get along.

"Nice to meet you. I say Mars, who is an adventurer in Alistair. Rank B, sir."

"You guys already know about the party."

That's the Lord of the Chamber of Commerce. They've been looking into us a lot in advance.

"But I hadn't even looked into the adventurer's mother."

If you were looking into it, you would have found out that they were your own grandchildren.

"Are you really my grandson?

"Right. You're right about blood."

"He's my daughter's son. Doesn't seem like much of a relationship."

I wasn't happy to welcome my mother back to Alistair either.

I guess you can't accept me easily because I'm your grandson, too.

"Um, nice to meet you..."

Until then, Chris, who kept his mouth shut, talks to his grandfather.

It's Chris' first meeting with his grandfather.

"I know about party members. I hear a girl your age as a leader is one of them. That means…"

"Yes, my third child."

My grandfather was surprised at the appearance of his grandson, whom he did not know.

"Chris, I say"

"I don't know if I deserve to be named that way, but I'm your grandfather. I didn't know I still had two grandchildren..."

"Oh, and there's another one, but I couldn't come with a job."

My grandfather was speechless by the fact that he was lightly told,

"Right..."

I managed to squeeze out just one word.

A long silence comes.

As far as I'm concerned, as an adventurer, I'd like to say a lot of greetings, but it's hard to talk about it because of the subtle air between my mother and my grandfather. Even for my mother, it's hard to cut out stories from myself because of all the things that happened, and my grandfather is harder to cut out than that. It would be the irrelevant Sylvias who are more uncomfortable.

So it's Chris who cuts out the story here.

"Um, would you get along with my mother?

"What do you mean we're close?

"I don't know what happened to me in the past or what to do. But shouldn't a blood-connected daughter give you a warm welcome?

Chris' words had my grandfather scratching his cheeks shyly.

Why? Why?

"When I was young, I was only interested in making money. That didn't change having a child. I was only thinking about using children to build edges and to the extent of tools to make the Chamber of Commerce bigger. So I made an angry mistake when Milene left. But I don't know if I'm getting old, either. When I saw my first grandson come nostalgic, it didn't matter until then."

"... I hear you are."

My mother was somewhat listening from an employee of the Chamber of Commerce.

The story is that the Lord, full of ambition, only looked like a grandfather while he was playing with his grandchildren. At first I couldn't believe it as a daughter, but I heard from other employees and decided it was true.

"So, I know this is a little bit of a story, but will you let me make up for it?

"Should I talk to you about it?

My mother kicked her marriage to a nobleman and married my father.

Afterwards, the relationship with the other party, who was just in the process of getting on with the edge, should have deteriorated. Now I guess I've had a lot of hands turned to forgive me, but the fact that I broke the fringe still hasn't changed.

"Of course if you think about your relationship with the other person, no matter what I think, getting back together with your daughter won't be acceptable"

"If so...!

"But if that's the mother of the city's famous adventurer, it's not the story."

I mean, an adventurer I'm imploring happened to be my own grandson, and my mother happened to be my own daughter.

Although the excuse is painful, let's leave the handling of the area to my grandfather.

"As an adventurer, I am a runaway adventurer who has been active for less than a year. It would be difficult to enter into an exclusive agreement with a large chamber of commerce just like that."

EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT - A contract whereby noblemen or chamber owners enter into contracts with certain adventurers to have their own requests prioritized by continuing to pay their contracts, or to allow them to be bound by long-term requests.

It is used to request long-term escorts from adventurers who have long worked as adventurers and have a proven track record.

"An adventurer with just the strength to defeat Silverfang rushes out, or..."

My grandfather laughed out if it was any fun.

"I'm sorry. I didn't make a fool of myself, it just made me laugh when I thought there was such a man. And I never thought such a man would show up from my grandson. Silverfang's crusade is a feat."

I know that, but one of the motives for fighting Silverfang isn't noble for secular reasons that he wanted to eat delicious tiger meat.

"Strength and previous feats have nothing to do with it. We have an overwhelming lack of various experiences. That's why it would be better if we had more experience even if we were to enter into exclusive contracts. But I don't think it's a problem as long as I personally make out with the Alcaine Chamber of Commerce."

"Right."

My grandfather grins with a nigga.

"That's how your son says, what do we do?

"... ok. I will make friends with the Alcaine Chamber of Commerce as the mother of Mars, the adventurer, without letting the past flow into the water."

"What are you talking about? Don't you now work as an employee?"

"Right."

You wanted to refuse by heart, even though your head knew it was best to rely on your parents.

I'll have to help you out here.

"I am grateful to my mother for all the conveniences she has given me."

"That's all I could do. Provide only a place where mothers in need with children can work. That's all."

I just didn't even look into the kid's details.

He was looking into me and my mother, but it didn't seem like he'd made it to the point of linking the two pieces of information.

"Well, it's been a long time, but I just wanted to treat my lunch to an adventurer who offered me rare demonic material like Silverfang. It's my first dinner with my grandson."

You were anticipating the timing. The maid who came into the room leaves the dishes one after the other.

That's the hospitality of those who were the owners of the Chamber of Commerce. All the meat served is a demon of the Snow Series that is considered delicious for a limited time. Moreover, some of the dishes served even ham or smoked horse meat that could not be hunted because they had no edge.

"Eat it."

My grandfather tells me, we get our hands on the meal, too.

I'm glad Sylvia cooked for me, but the dish prepared by a chef with the highest level of cooking skills was the best because of the Chamber Master's mansion.

Sylvia, who was eating the food, was eating with a serious look on her face as to whether she was going to be able to remember the flavor and make it herself.

Isla was eating with her hands trembling whether she was nervous about a meal she would eat at a stranger's chamber of commerce mansion.

Meanwhile, Melissa, accustomed to talking to the owners of the Chamber of Commerce in business talks and so on when she was in Wang Capital, was eating while talking to her grandfather about various things.

This hunt, though, encouraged hunting training, got unscheduled meat, and so on, but I think it was a huge success just to have my mother and grandfather reconciled.
