Cyber Heroes

Chapter 80 Summary at the end of the volume

Xiang Shan:

The ancestor of martial arts who lost his memory seemed to have been the developer who initiated the technological revolution. A few months ago, his head was unearthed in a garbage dump. At that time, he didn't even remember his name, only that he had an enemy named "Yawgmoth". A small fragment of the memory has now been found.

Head prosthesis: half a head made of high-strength alloy with unknown composition, and recently a skull made of ordinary alloy, with martial arts chips and storage devices inside. It has its own ultra-high-precision prosthetic eyes.

Prosthetic body: a prosthetic body made by oneself. The spine was left behind by a very talented warrior. It is equipped with a micro-hydraulic system and can move autonomously. There are dozens of pieces of armor, each of which can be deflected independently. It is equipped with wireless signal transmitters and several batteries.

Prosthetic hand: The ten fingers and palm are equipped with high-frequency oscillation generating devices, which can quickly degrade the alloy. Both ultrasonic and infrasonic waves pose a certain threat to the biological brain.

Prosthetic leg: Artificial muscle fiber prosthetic leg, which has extremely high explosive power in a specific direction, but seems to be not durable enough.

Weapons: Several ordinary thermal weapons. Phonon Knife [Limited by weight and energy, temporarily unavailable] [Illustration]

accompany:

Yuki: The boy who was accepted as a disciple by Xiangshan

Little girl: Orphan. Genetic father is an unknown green forest, mother is a victim, the first word learned in life is "don't be afraid"

Settings now available to the public:

"Homo vexillues"/Homo vexillues is a species that is biologically distinct from Homo sapiens. Gene therapy to transform Homo sapiens into baseline humans is the precursor to prosthetic transformation. Vexillues, a variant of Latin vexillum, means standard/benchmark.

Baseline humans need to supplement more metal elements. Their body density is greater than that of Homo sapiens. They can independently produce metal cluster protein layers. They will not be infected by all known native pathogens in the early 21st century. Their cells have extremely strong resistance to mechanical damage. It has the ability to resist hypoxia and has the ability to resist aging. The life span of standard humans is much higher than that of Homo sapiens.

Most importantly, baseline humans can rely on electric field energy to replace part of ATP hydrolysis to power cells. This technology initially seemed to be intended to solve the problem of human food, so that there would be no more famine in the world and more labor would be liberated.

Society is currently in a loose state. The government/"civilized protectors" occupy resources, but they follow anarchism, use the "Dyson Principle" as the only standard, and only provide basic protection. They exist only to maintain the "human gene pool". What exactly the human gene pool is remains to be explored.

Wulin is hostile to the government. At the same time, the martial arts world is divided into two opposing factions - one is Jianghu and the other is Green Forest.

Green Forest relies on the common memory of extreme evil and cruelty to maintain the organization. The method of expanding personnel is to use that common memory to brainwash others and rewrite their personalities. [This technology seems to be born to solve human education problems]

The ecology of Jianghu is unknown, but it seems to basically follow the tradition of "knowledge sharing". At present, it is only known that Jianghu relies on the blockchain to spread the way to get started, while the sect relies on the magnetic chain to share knowledge.

Article 0: All individuals who do not explicitly refuse to abide by the Dyson Principles, or do not explicitly violate the principles, will abide by the Dyson Principles by default and accept the protection of civilization. The Dyson Principle is the only universal principle of human civilization. Any behavior that does not violate Dyson's principles should be allowed

Explanation: Citizens have the right to privacy and various freedoms. But human civilization will not provide additional protection for these freedoms. Infringement of these freedoms, although not recommended, does not result in citizens losing the protection of civilization. However, residents can kill the offender when their freedoms are violated, without causing the citizen to lose asylum—the right to self-defense is not restricted.

Article 1: All humans have an obligation to maintain human genetic diversity. Refusing this obligation will automatically result in the loss of civilized protection.

Article 2: It is prohibited to harm other people’s biological brains

Article 3: It is prohibited to manufacture, use and sell addictive drugs

Article 4: Private property exists and is protected

Article 5: Anyone is allowed and only allowed to establish an organization in the form of "an individual declares allegiance to another individual".

About quotes and tributes:

The opening words of this volume are quoted from the preface of the doctoral thesis of the great mentor Karl Marx.

This volume contains several references to French left-wing economist Thomas Piketty's book Capital in the Twenty-First Century. [To avoid system sensitivity, the Chinese titles will not be included]

The main objects of this volume include "Fist of the North Star", "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure", "Persona 5", "Ip Man", "The Grandmaster" and other works.

Regarding "The mountain was dug out in the form of a head" - here are the three core tributes to this work.

The first level is a tribute to the beginning of Yukito Kishiro's "Gun Meng". The first chapter "Rusty Homo sapiens" is a tribute to the first chapter "Rusty Angel" of "Gunsmen".

The second layer is a tribute to the backstory of "Magic: The Gathering" from Urza's Legend to the Great Battle. That is, a story like "The protagonist with only one head left fights against a powerful enemy named Yawgmoth."

On the third level, Xiangshan claimed that "there must be a Lich King" in order to fight against "rotten history" and other reactionary forces in his early years. Just in the recent plot, Lich King Bolvar was defeated by Sylvanas.

These three images will be intertwined throughout the foundation of this work.

Finally, let’s talk about your thoughts.

First of all, thank you readers for your continued support. Thank you all for your votes, tips, and more importantly, for reading this story.

In addition, we would also like to thank all professionals for their technical support. Special thanks to my martial arts enthusiast friends in BJ for their help during the preparation of this book.

To be honest, I actually feel a little deserved for everyone's support. I have clearly realized that I really have no talent at all in the process of creation, nor do I have any great ideas. Coupled with the unique aesthetics and niche interests, the things written are inevitably a bit boring to everyone.

In fact, I found a job at a cram school at the beginning of the year by relying on the writer's certificate I obtained. It's just that there are unforeseen circumstances, and the city is closed due to the epidemic, and it seems that it may not be closed until spring. It’s like God is forcing me to eat this bowl of rice. I have no choice but to continue writing.

But what to write about?

Among my favorite science fiction genres, apart from the "new space opera" represented by Verno Vinci's Abyss series and Dan Simmons' Hyperion series, it should be "cyberpunk". As a Chinese, I must have longed for the romantic story of "a chivalrous man using force to break the law."

So, a little person in my mind jumped out and shouted: "Why fight, why should we mix it together and write cyberpunk martial arts, idiot."

So, there was this book.

I think the spirit of "martial arts" and the background of "cyberpunk" are a natural fit. What is "Xia"? Use force to break the ban, hoe the strong and support the weak, and use actions to interpret and reshape "human dignity." Cyberpunk is precisely the alienation of technology from people and the absolute control of the strong over the weak.

From a futuristic perspective, perhaps the answer to the problem of "technologically alienated people" is already hidden in martial arts stories.

"Martial arts" is undoubtedly a "technology". But when a martial artist is immersed in martial arts, people will not think of him as an admirer of technology, but as an artist.

This is not just a fictional story in a novel, but also something that happens in reality. Think about it, Bruce Lee, the promoter of kung fu culture in the last century - is his image in people's minds an artist or a technology admirer?

Technology can lead to human alienation and distortion, but technology is not destined to lead to human alienation and distortion.

As far as I know so far, there are no two elements that are more naturally matched than cyberpunk and martial arts, but they are rarely brought together.

At least that's what I thought.

This is probably my only little insight into life.

I dare not say how good this story is, but it is indeed my work with all my heart.

I hope you all can continue to support me.

Recently, my days and nights have been reversed, and my physical condition has not been satisfactory, so I decided to sort out my thoughts a little. Tomorrow, I will continue to update the second volume of "Cyber Heroes", "Real Name and Surname".
