222 Cat Dad Picks up a Ring

Chapter 222 – Cat Dad Picks up a Ring

Let It Go!

Don't be confused with a Disney song. This spell is named this way because of how crazy, powerful, and creative the spell creator was.

During the first Pangu-Seraphim War, Immortal Solomon, who served as a subordinate of a Chaos Demon God at that time, developed a curse to weaken the Mazinger Race. It was effective at first, but the Mazingers soon evolved and resisted the curses. Thus, Solomon stopped developing it.

Unfortunately, most records of the development were destroyed, leaving only an incomplete mural of the first stage of the curse. That mural was deciphered and translated into a spell book.

Spell Type: Curse, AOE, Continuous

Rarity: Super Rare

Cost: 100,000 MP and 100,000 Life Qi

Upkeep: 10,000 MP or Qi per minute.

Cooldown: 24 hours

Effects: Terraform everything in a radius of 500 meters into the Polluted Yin Snow Field. Polluted Yin Snow Field has the following effects;

- Inflict every living being on the field with [Crystal Curse].

- Continuously generate Polluted Yin Miasma from the snow. When the miasma touches anything, cover the objects or creatures with the polluted snow. Can infinitely expand the cursed field as long as the caster has enough MP or Qi to maintain the upkeep.

- Crystallized victims of this curse are automatically brainwashed and become the caster's slave. Does not work on players, immortals, deities, and entities.

- There is a low chance for dimensional creatures to appear on the show field as your slaves.

- Cannot be purified with regular holy water or spells.

Xiaomao admired the spell's detail after his team returned to the guild lobby. Once again, he killed another guild leader on his own, except for the first round.

The mermen crowd celebrated another victory even though they didn't contribute anything. Shepherd, Peter, and James, however, didn't join the party, and their expressions were dark.

They saw it with their own eyes – The pollen and the creeping snow moved as if they were alive, and they crept upon them when they were on the bridges. Moreover, eggs emerged from the black snow, and the fog circled around them like a tornado, protecting them.

That field hid something sinister, and they didn't want to get close to that black snow again!

Xiaomao noticed Shepherd, James, and Peter's expressions.

"Was that scary, munya?"

The trio repeatedly nodded.

"I see. It's okay, munya. I won't use it in the next match. It's on cooldown now, so I can only use it again on the 5th match, munya!"

Shepherd sweated profusely. He didn't want to become a human fan in front of the black snow field again.

.

As Xiaomao had time, he decided to return to World Three and talk to Nymph about the weapon deal.

When Xiaomao returned to the dungeon, the elder gang was still around. Taotie, Mimir, Meowmeow, and Cernun were gathering in the boss room. However, they sat in a circle and held something that Xiaomao didn't think they possessed.

They were cards.

These big shots were playing cards!

Xiaomao walked toward them and peeked at their cards. Strangely, they were UNO cards.

'What in the hell?'

Amused, Xiaomao observed these immortals quietly.

Meanwhile, these immortals stared at each other with a JOJO expressions on their faces. Their sitting posture was stylish, and their menacing aura made the boss room tremble.

PA

Meowmeow solemnly put down a blue 5 card. He showed the last card on his cat paw and turned to Taotie, "UNO, munya!"

"Naïve!" Taotie pulled one of the 3 cards from his paw and slammed it into the middle of the discard pile. Then, he smirked at Mimir, who was next to him. "I don't believe that you have another blue card!"

It was a blue card with a +4.

Mimir stroked his beard and glanced at Cernun's last card. Meanwhile, he had two cards in his hand, "Yare, yare. Challenge!"

"Eh?" Taotie was taken aback. "What challenge?"

Cernun shook his head and explained, "If you play a draw +4 card, the next player can challenge you. If you have a card with the same color that you played just now, you must draw 4 cards plus 2 extra cards instead."

Taotie screamed, "Why nobody told me of this stupid rule?!"

Mimir snickered, "Shut it and draw, you stupid lion!"

"NOOOOO!!"

Taotie wailed while Meowmeow, Mimir, and Cernun laughed at him.

The atmosphere looked wholesome and friendly to the point that Xiaomao wanted to join them. However, he noticed something odd in front of their seats.

They were orb-like crystals, which looked similar to Xiaomao's Dao Stone. He narrowed his eyes to see the item descriptions.

[Elemental Essence Stone]

"…"

Xiaomao knew this stone. It was the third tier of spirit stones after the essence cores. Only level-1,000 players or immortals could consume these stones to raise their stats. It appeared that these big boys wagered their cultivation resources in their game.

Xiaomao dryly laughed as he didn't belong on this betting table. He quietly withdrew.

Cernun coughed and stopped Xiaomao, "Stay there, Xiaomao. I have some businesses with you. It's good that you come back."

Xiaomao jolted and rushed to Cernun's side, "Yes, senior! Can I help you?"

"Remember Fu De and Torrent?"

"Yes! Yes, munya! What about them?"

"I've removed their memories and curses. I'm putting them here as floor bosses. Is that okay with you?"

Xiaomao was pleasantly surprised. He repeatedly nodded, "Certainly, munya! But… why the dungeon, munya?"

Mimir chimed in, "Didn't someone threaten you that the dungeon location is exposed?"

"Y-You knew, senior?"

"We've been watching you even when you're not in a match. You know how tiring it is to work like scarecrows and chase away mentally handicapped immortals from coming after you?"

"…"

Meowmeow waved his paw and cutely cackled, "I remotely killed five immortals that came after you during the second match yesterday, munya. Mimir and Taotie got one, and Cernun got two, munya!"

Cernun coughed again, "FYI, we're betting with the resources that we got from dead immortals. Anyway, since Pangu's servants have been active, it's necessary to take precautions. We'll put those two immortals on the second floor to scare away some pushovers. You can discuss their placements with Undine."

Taotie waved his lion's paw, shooing Xiaomao, "Okay. Enough talk. Leave us alone. Let the big boys do their things, and you mind your own business! And… Whose turn is this?!"

"Your turn, damn lion! You haven't drawn a card yet. Now, draw 6!"

"…"

Xiaomao bowed to them and slowly walked away. However, Meowmeow suddenly coughed and kicked a ring with his hind leg.

"Where is my spatial ring again? Oh, it doesn't matter, munya. It's just an OWNERLESS storage ring with some useless IMMORTAL WEAPONS AND ARMOR THAT ARE TAILORED FOR CATOPUSES. I don't care if someone actually FINDS IT ON THE GROUND AND KEEP IT."

Spatial rings or storage rings were fantasy items that always appeared in cultivation novels and stories. Although World Three was not based on a cultivation world, remnants of cultivators and their items were still around.

Mimir, Cernun, and Taotie faintly smiled and inwardly shook their heads.

Xiaomao, on the other hand, was frozen in shock. His trembling tentacle reached for the ring and picked it up. Then, he bowed toward Meowmeow several times and ran toward the dungeon bridge outside the boss room.

Meowmeow snorted while the men giggled. They continued playing their game.
