65 – Spiral Totem

“It’s too late.”

I murmured.

“Am I going to get stuck like this?”

“G-house mercenary, what are you talking about?”

The battle was still going on at the bottom of the hill.

Even if the cavalry from both sides rushed in riotously and quickly rammed the sides of the dense formation, the rectangular formation changed like an hourglass.

Even after the troopers retreated after seeing the miserable end of the vanguard – perhaps they would argue fervently that there was a problem with the shoes and reins, or the cook’s breakfast.

The hourglass became a horizontally elongated rectangle again, and several impatient wagons among the supply wagons that were moving with the archers came right in front of our trail.

He didn’t come out.

There was no black magic anywhere in the open battlefield, let alone a black magician.

‘Am I dead?’

I was caught up in the happy circuit for a while, but it’s been a long time since I was crushed by the shutter of my kindergarten graduation photo.

Obviously the warlock is alive.

That’s why I rolled my eyes even more. It was obvious that he was hiding somewhere.

In the meantime, I saw something under the low hill on the other side of the battlefield.

“Huh?”

It was something similar to a cart pulled by people, but it was hard to see because my eyes were so stiff.

“Captain Prianian.”

She immediately turned her head and looked at me.

“Yes.”

I stretched out my hand and pointed to something far, far away.

“Excuse me, but do you see what that is?”

The squad leader immediately turned his head and looked out where I was pointing.

It didn’t take long for those big eyes to slit. She gave the answer.

“…A cart that someone is pulling.”

“What is in the cart?”

“Black clothes? Or charcoal?”

When she heard that, she immediately stood up.

Perhaps it happened suddenly, Priest Rien’s gaze turned towards me.

“Let’s get ready right away. The Warlock is on the other side of the battlefield.”

“Yes?”

Priest Rien’s eyes widened.

“G-house mercenary, what do you mean?”

“I don’t even know how to explain it. Priest Lien. I am the one who wields the sword instead, not the one who makes it happen.”

After saying that, she paused for a moment.

This is because language circulation was necessary due to the rapid excitement.

“But if we don’t move now, we’ll all f*ck-“

“Wait!”

“Ah-cha-cha.”

I shut my mouth at the momentary blasphemous words, but that was probably not the reason Priest Rien cut her off.

She was staring into the distance with her expression hardened.

And turn her head. I realized.

“Ah.”

Away, in a cave, there was a living corpse that was slain to death.

He was heading somewhere, pulling a wagon with a burnt, half-corpse warlock.

It was the place where the body the owner wanted so much was.

The choice of the spot was also amazing because it was the place where two knights from both sides got tangled up and died, but unfortunately it was not visible to both sides.

The cart he rode in stopped among the corpses of the knights.

The body was not delicate. That’s why the human waste that became his owner was discharged from the cart.

He didn’t even manage to fall forward and slumped down on his buttocks, like a bankrupt businessman sitting on the street.

When I laughed at that figure, the warlock turned his head and looked this way.

In those ghastly eyes, there was only hatred and disgust that hadn’t been burnt out yet.

But that didn’t change what we had to do.

“Let’s move first. Because I have to kill him.”

I wish I could solve it with sniping, but the crossbow’s range doesn’t reach where he is.

We went down the mountain as fast as we could.

The trail that led almost straight to the battlefield showed everything that was connected in a straight line with him.

Even the black magician memorizing spells.

Maybe that’s why I could see it clearly. What order is he trying to cast?

“The last stickiness before death,”

Something began to seep out of the corpse standing next to him. It was like blood, but with a slightly more disgusting color, they seeped into the corpses of the knights piled up next to them.

“The feeling of satiety in the flesh and ooze of a corpse,”

The clots of blood that had oozing earlier began to cover the pile of corpses.

But the easiest to find on the battlefield was red.

Maybe that’s why no one thought it was strange.

“A breath of goodbye for a reunion,”

I didn’t see anything. However, the slight movement of the hill gave the illusion that it was breathing.

Then, at some point, the blood clots split into very small lumps.

At first glance, the carcass of the horse was more dry and twisted than before.

“Comfortable Harvest of Sustainable Rats,”

The rats made of gore spread out in all directions.

No one bothered with the floor in the fight, so I had no trouble getting to the corpse except for a few trampled ones.

“A gooey blood pooling at the corners of your mouth.”

The gore dug into the corpse’s mouth. Somehow

After that, he didn’t recite the next spell.

Instead of that, he was yelling.

“Rona Prianiaaan!! And damned priest b*tch and damn, just a squad member!!”

The last voice amplification magic of an old man of unknown age rang the battlefield.

The excitement caused by battle narrows the field of vision and hearing.

Only then did the battlefield begin to get a bit messy, but the battle was not over.

“I will make you regret not killing me for sure!!”

He raised his burnt, oozing hand.

The corpses that had clots of blood in their mouths just before stood up.

Then staggered towards him slowly.

Even in the sight of the dead walking, the soldiers could not cope.

Cutting is like love, so even if I want to stop, the other person may not.

So the procession of corpses ended without incident, and they slowly piled up in front of him, forming a hill.

The warlock slowly sat on top of it as if it were natural.

As if trying to look back on a long, long life.

But the grotesque figure on top of the mound of corpses made it hard to believe.

So, if I had to express it, I would say this.

“Looks like you’re sitting on a corpse cushion.”

Wack.

I don’t know if he heard me, but he looked this way.

“He responded to my summons. Although it is not perfect due to lack of sacrifices, the fragments alone will be enough to destroy them.”

The muttering of the warlock spread throughout the battlefield.

“Now that the little piece has come to this land, the never-ending art will begin…”

At the same time, something leaked from his back. It was black

The emptiness, which seemed to show off a corner of the universe because it wasn’t black, felt like a cradle that gave you warmth, but once contained, it felt like tar so sticky that you couldn’t move it.

And in it I-

“G-house mercenary.”

Wack.

Priest Rien, who grabbed my collar and shook it, pressed her face.

The field of view that seemed to be sucked in was filled with golden eyes.

From noble mtl dot com

“Don’t be possessed.”

“Yes?”

“I want you to stop walking and keep watching!”

At one point, I stopped and looked at the black thing as if possessed.

“We are now protected by divine power, but if we keep looking at it, it will be dangerous!”

“Thank you, that priest?”

We are too close.

“Why is that?”

She pushed a little closer.

The miracle of the sun god was approaching more clearly with my eyes.

“It’s strange. I don’t think you’re afraid of dark magic…”

I couldn’t bear to say that the priest was too burdensome.

Either way.

That’s why I just fell back slightly.

“No.”

“Be fresh!”

She went down again.

Then the prianian squad leader who was following behind me came to the side and quietly whispered.

“Sometimes it’s better to be calm than to be stimulating. Isn’t it?”

“Yes?”

“It moves fast.”

I suddenly wanted to say something, but I nodded.

***

I have almost come down the mountain.

I couldn’t see well because the ground was low and the bushes were blocking my view.

The territory on both sides did not respond even at this moment.

So no one could stop the warlock’s ritual.

“Quaaagh!!”

A swarm of blood-stained rats came out from among the corpse he was sitting on and began to bite him all over.

“Hey, hehehe!”

He was laughing. I didn’t even know that maybe it was because his mouth was the only intact thing in his whole body.

“Finally… The ultimate cycle is here!”

Even as the blood trickled down the warlock’s chin and into his mouth, he teased his pierced mouth at will.

“Remember. Art is death, not explosion. You f*cking squad member! Praise the one who sits on the cushion of a corpse!”

With those words, he was swallowed up in blood.

We watched the madness in silence.

“……”

“……”

The greedy bloodwater didn’t know the subject itself, so even after swallowing the caster, it didn’t know how to control itself and continued to go up and up.

A red spiral totem appeared on one side of the battlefield.
